Harry Potter’s Defense Professor
Chapter 165: forced
Speaking of which, Lockhart had the best relationship with Snape among all the members of the Order of the Phoenix. It wasn't hard to explain, because Lockhart knew Snape was a "good guy", so Lockhart trusted him a lot. This trust is very different from others: Dumbledore trusts him because of an unbreakable oath; others trust him because Dumbledore trusts Snape; only Lockhart trusts him truly and unconditionally.
Snape was a very sensitive person, of course he felt this trust, and what he returned to Lockhart was the same trust and friendship, although even Lockhart hardly felt this kind of friendship.
"So, what can we do for you?" Snape asked after Lockhart settled down.
"Severus, Gilderoy," Narcissa said, holding back her trembling. She had been waiting for an opportunity to see Snape and Lockhart at the same time this summer, but Lockhart actually went on a trip. She spent the whole summer vacation in panic and worry. "I need your help now, can I trust you?"
Lockhart glanced at Snape in disbelief, only to see him nodding slightly to himself. Lockhart was relieved, it seemed that Narcissa didn't know she was an Order of the Phoenix, she just regarded him as a life-saving straw that could be caught.
When the coffee was served, Lockhart took a sip and said, "Is there anything I can do to help, Narcissa? As long as it doesn't embarrass me too much..."
Narcissa shivered and took a sip of her coffee: "You'll keep it a secret for me, right, Gilderoy."
After saying this, she couldn't help but feel a sense of despair in her heart, and choked up again.
"He will, Gilderoy is a very reliable person." Snape pursed his thin lips, as if he was very disdainful to say good things for others, but also as if he didn't believe what he said. "But you can't force him to make an unbreakable oath, you can only choose to trust him."
Narcissa took her second sip of coffee and was ruthless, after all, even if Lockhart said it, the worst outcome would be Draco being arrested: "Severus, Gilderoy, I'm so sorry, this is a bad thing. I really can't think of anyone else who can help me, you're the only people I know who are at Hogwarts all day."
Snape raised a hand to stop her, then pointed his wand at the Muggle in the coffee shop, the man fell to the ground, waved his wand again, and the door of the coffee shop was closed.
Narcissa shuddered, took a deep breath, and began to speak again. "Severus, I know if I should say it, I've been told not to say it to anyone, but—"
Narcissa made a sound, like a tearless sob, and then covered her face with her hands.
Snape put the cup on the table and leaned back on the chair: "If that person won't let you talk, then we can leave after paying the bill, right?"
Narcissa stopped, her chest heaving violently and her cheeks flushed. Lockhart could see that this once-beautiful woman, because of her son, looked twenty years older and her white hair came out.
"I don't have a choice now, Severus. I—I think, only you and Gilderoy can help me, and I'm at a loss. Lucius is in prison, and..."
She closed her eyes, and two large tears leaked out from under her eyelids.
"The Dark Lord won't let me talk about it," Narcissa continued, her eyes still closed. "He doesn't want anyone to know about that plan. It's...very secret. But—"
She suddenly seemed to make up her mind: "Gidro, yes, our family is all Death Eaters, you should be able to guess."
Lockhart pretended to be terrified: "If I'm not mistaken, Severus, you're a Death Eater too! God, what are you looking for me for?"
"Of course. Don't be nervous, Gilderoy, we won't hurt you. But first we need to hear what Narcissa needs us to do to her." Snape said earnestly. "What do you need, Narcissa? If you fantasize that I can convince the Dark Lord to change his mind, or that you think Gilderoy can kill the Dark Lord or Dumbledore, I'm afraid there's no hope, no hope at all."
"Severus," Narcissa said, tears rolling down her pale cheeks, "you knew the plan, didn't you."
"That's right, in fact, I knew it earlier than you, and now what you're thinking about is whether to tell Gilderoy."
"What plan?!" Lockhart looked even more terrified. "Is it the plan that the mysterious man asked you to complete? What does this have to do with me!"
"My son! Your student! Draco Malfoy, the Dark Lord asked him to assassinate Dumbledore!" Narcissa almost screamed after finishing this sentence.
Lockhart jumped up suddenly, startling Snape next to him. "What, assassinating Dumbledore? That's impossible. No one knows the horrors of Dumbledore better than us professors!"
You're acting too exaggeratedly. Severus looked at Lockhart with disgust.
"But he chose Draco, Gilderoy, no!" Narcissa grabbed Lockhart, who was about to leave, and burst into tears, "You have to help me, Gilderoy, please!"
"I can't help you, and ten Gilderoy Lockharts are not Dumbledore's opponents!" Lockhart shook off her hand, "and I'm a good professor, why do such a thing."
"Of course it can't be successful, I'm not asking you to help Draco assassinate Dumbledore, I'm just asking you...to protect Draco, it's better to delay it until the end...but it's impossible, oh...I What to do? Not even the Dark Lord himself...he's just trying to punish Lucius!"
"Lucius didn't manage his own business and nearly got the Dark Lord in," Snape said dryly, "I can't pretend that the Dark Lord isn't mad at Lucius~www.readwn.com~ but The Dark Lord is angry, Narcissa, very angry indeed."
After listening to Snape's words, Narcissa seemed to have lost the last bit of self-control. He slumped from his chair to the ground. "You can do it. Draco can't do it, you can do it, Severus. You'll do it, you'll do it for sure, and his reward will be for you. More than all of us—"
Snape didn't answer Narcissa, but pulled out his wand and pointed at Lockhart: "Sorry, Gilderoy, I have to take back what I just said. If you know about such a big thing, you will either be knocked down by us, and then eliminated. Memories, or make an unbreakable oath that it won't leak out," Snape paused, "and will try to help me assassinate Dumbledore."
"Severus - oh, Severus - would you help him? Would you take care of him and keep him safe? And assassinate Dumbledore?"
"I can give it a try." Snape said calmly.
She raised her hand and threw away the cup, which slid across the table. She got up, took Snape's non-wand hand with both hands, pressed her lips to it, then took Lockhart's hand again, looking at him expectantly.
How did it come to me? Lockhart was genuinely suspicious this time, and looked at Snape questioningly, but Snape pointed his wand at him with a blank expression.
"Okay, I promise..." Lockhart said dryly.
PS: (There are a lot of biological gods in the readers, I set this way and you can’t accuse me of using high school biological knowledge: Whether you can feel magic power is determined by several sets of genes, but whether you can use it or not, or whether the magic power is strong or not , is determined by a large amount of genetic information. Well, it's all set in such a vague way, but the author is not a student of biology, let's do it)
