Chapter 1: Magic Library

"You useless piece of shit, you better die!"

"Thud!"

An arrogant looking boy cursed, before kicking at the abdomen of the petite lad lying on the ground.

"Ahh!"

When the kick landed on his chest, agonised shriek echoed in the surrounding. He couldn't breathe normally. The corner of his eyes became wet because of pain and his fair face had red palm prints, while his black hair was in a complete mess.

When the searing pain diminished, he looked at the sneering face of the fatty, but didn't comment.

"Hahaha, look how pathetic you are. You don't even have the guts to fight back!" Said the fatty with a disdainful sneer, and everyone on the scene burst into a peal of laughter.

The petite boy lying on the ground gazed at the surrounding people and spat the mouthful of blood and fell on the ground motionless without uttering a word. Slowly his conciousness faded and everything became dark.

.....

Under the tree was lying a young man around the age of seventeen, with black hair and fair skin. Suddenly, he opened his impassive eyes, which shined with unusual lustre. His gaze was giving an impression as if it could see through a void.

Ayaan looked towards the vast blue sky and sighed emotionally, "I am not a weak brat anymore, but I still can't find her. I need strength, lots of strength, or I will never see her again."

As he closed his eyes, the face of an enchanted beauty appeared in Ayaan's mind. She had long ruby-red hair which tumbled on her shoulders; she had honey sweet lips, and they were lilac soft; an enchanting red-eyes, and her smile was like cherry blossoms.

"Do you still remember me, or have you already forgotten about me?" a sigh full of longing escaped from his mouth — the longing words can not describe.

However, in just a second every emotion disappeared; what remained on his face was a frosty expression.

It's been a year since she had gone. But the yearning of meeting her only increased in his heart.

Subsequently, Ayaan opened his eyes and looked towards the tall gigantic banyan tree while murmuring, "If I want to increase my strength in a short time, I have to enter that mysterious passage. I don't know if it is good or bad. But I have to try it, with my strength I can go nowhere in this world, much less find her."

After that, he walked towards the tree and entered a vast cave on the root of the tree.

When he first found the portal, wounds were covering his complete body and blood was dripping continuedly. As his blood fell on the ground, he formed an invisible link with the tunnel. Thereafter, he was the only person who could open the portal and cross between two worlds.

However, he never went back to earth after murdering his uncle and his family, because there was nothing left for him. He didn't have any family, neither did he have any friends.

After entering the cave, Ayaan arrived in front of two passages. One was leading towards the earth while other was going towards an unknown place, giving a ghastly feeling.

The second passage was eerie, cold, and death like feeling was coming from it, creeping the sense of dread in anyone's heart. Ayaan stopped at its entrance for a second and suppressed the feeling of fear and anxiety.

Subsequently, the eerie coldness hit on Ayaan's face, but his heart didn't waver and suppressed the cold sensation inside his heart. Ayaan walked towards the entrance with his tightened heart.

He closed his eyes when he felt the increasing fear inside his mind and jumped towards the other side of the layer which was dividing the passage. Finally, the cold and dreadful feeling disappeared. What remained was the cooling sensation.

"Sigh… How long has it been since a new candidate appeared?" While Ayaan was looking around, a sigh full of emotion echoed in the passage. What followed was the voice of a girl which sounded like a sweet melody.

Eventually, Ayaan looked around and saw a beautiful snow-white bird. It had shining blue eyes, white feathers were like silk, and a beak that resembled a pigeon's.

Ayaan's eyes widened in shock when he saw such a beautiful bird and then remembered the voice he had heard just now. Immediately, Ayaan felt his throat dried from fear.

It took Ayaan a few seconds to adjust himself, but he suppressed the distressed inside his heart before voicing, "W-Who are you?"

"Who? Me? Oh... I am the noble spirit of 'Magic Library' " the bird looked towards the sky and said in self-proclaimed manner.

Ayaan looked at the small cute body of the bird and felt the urge to burst into laughter when he heard her reply, "Well… you sure are a cute little small Birdy, but you don't look great and noble to me from any angle, " Ayaan murmured, but the bird still heard him loud and clear.

The moment the bird heard his murmuring, she replied with an annoyed voice, "Humph! How could a lowly human like you know about my greatness and awesomeness? I might be… cough… a little small, but my glory is unreachable!"

"Anyway, why am I telling this to a lowly human being, humph? You have just passed the first trial, and I don't think you would pass the next level. Anyway, enough talk. It's time to move to a second trial." She looked towards him and said with a calm voice.

"Huh? Trial? What trial? And when did I pass the first trial? Why don't I know about it?" Baffled look appeared on Ayaan' face.

"Entering this portal was your first trial, the trail of fear. If you want to achieve greatness, overcome the fear of uncertainty. That was your trial, but you took an entire year to enter this place… trash!" The bird insulted him ruthlessly with no restraint.

Ayaan completely ignored her provoking behaviour and asked, "Um… So, what type of trial is it? Am I going to get some legacy or something like that?"

The bird looked at him before cutely nodding at him seriously, "You can say that; it's a legacy, but no other legacy can compare with it.

It is the legacy of the 'Magic Library.' You can find the knowledge of the ancient era. You can learn the magic of ancient times, godly spells and magic arts, you never dreamed of before."

The more he heard, the more excited he became. What did he need right now? Resources? No! Without a good foundation, spell, and magic art, he will only waste resources. So, what he needed right now was to build his foundation, magic arts, and spells.

However, Ayaan didn't lose his rationality when he heard the tempting voice of the bird. Instead, his expression became serious. He knew nothing was like a free lunch in this world, much less the legacy that can change his future. He wasn't delusional enough to consider himself the first candidate for this trial.

Ayaan looked towards the bird and spoke: "What is the second trial?"

"Good… good. I like your straightforward behaviour. The second trial is to cross this passage. After crossing this passage, the third trial will take place at the 'Pool of the demon lord'..." Bird laughed jubilantly and continued, "...but remember if you continue this trial, there won't be any turning back. Complete this trial, or you will lose your life."

Ayaan didn't wait much to reconsider his decision and walked into the passage. After walking for some time, he felt something wasn't right. A bird following him from behind chirped with her beautiful voice and said: "Ahh, I forgot to tell you. The more you neared the exit, the more pressure you will feel."

Promptly, Ayaan cursed this cunning bird in his mind but continued to walk towards the exit. However, his body was already drowning in his sweat. His breathing became hurried, but it is still far from enough to stop him from reaching his goal.

After running 1 kilometre, the pressure doubled on him, and his speed slowed down. Regardless, he gritted his teeth and continued.

2 hours later.

Ayaan was on the verge of collapsing. However, the determination in his eyes flashed more than ever before. He continued to tell himself if he is not powerful enough, he will just live like a worm and die the same way. I still need to find her; how can I stop here, no! He thought.

The veins were popping out on his face. His face was blood red from the pressure. But he still had a grin which was rather majestic.

At this moment, he remembered his time on earth—a time when everyone despised him. If he had enough strength who would dare to look down on him, he just needed an opportunity, and that opportunity is only in front of him. Regardless, he will never let this chance go, no matter what.

'Cough'

Ayaan vomited a mouthful of blood, but the smile on his face never faded; it was still as bright as before.

Afterwards, Ayaan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked in front of him. Then he saw an exit which made his smile even more dazzling. However, when the distance was only a hundred meters, the pressure again increased, and he fell on the knees.

'Thud'

He looked toward the exit and tried to arise, but he again fell in the same position.

"Arghh!"

He howled with the voice full of grief and sorrow.

"No! I won't accept this!" He used his hands and knees, then crawled. After dragging his body for ten meters, blood flowed from his knees. Because of the loss of blood, it painted the ground red, but he never stopped moving.

With much hard work, he completed the second trial. Eventually, he fell on his back and started panting heavily.

'Huff! Huff!'

"I didn't expect your perseverance and determination to be this strong, not bad at all," the bird praised him, but her next word made him despair again. "Now, it's time for the last trial. No one could pass this trial and become the owner of the 'Magic Library.' Let's see how long you can endure, hehe."

Ayaan didn't complain a bit before standing again and asked: "What is the last trial?"
