The doctor turned to look at my parents and said, "She will have to undergo a surgery to remove the tumor immediately and then we will send the sample for a biopsy, for further details. She will have to go through six rounds of chemotherapy and about one month of radiation," he further explained.

"How much do I get to live?" I bluntly questioned the doctor.

"As much as you want," he smiled at me and patted my back.

My mom broke down terribly as soon as we stepped out of the doctor's cabin. The moment she looked at me, she controlled her tears. I knew everybody was portraying to be strong in front of me.

I called up Wang but I did not inform him about me being in Beijing too. I lied to him that I was down with minor influenza and needed to rest. Wang had lately, lost his mom from cancer. I knew he could not bear another jolt like this. I never wanted him to go through all of that again. Being with me meant, I was a liability to him. Right outside the doctor's cabin I resolved to break up with him soon. The pain of a separation was easier than pain of a loved one's demise.

"Relax guys," I exclaimed to my family. "Everything is fine. It all got diagnosed quite early."

My parents smiled at me.

"Yes, we all will fight it, together," said Amelia and hugged me.

After two days, the scheduled day for surgery arrived. Dr. Kuan Huang was operating on me alongside a surgeon. The fear of a cancer surgery can only be empathized with the cancer survivors. I had gathered too much material about such surgeries. According to few, the surgery increases the growth cancer many folds while, others were in favor of going under the knife.

I looked at my family. One thing which is worse than having cancer is, watching your family member going through it. I had to be strong for them.

I opened my eyes and I saw a dim light in the room. I looked around and saw Amelia sitting at a distance.

"I want some water and I want to call Wang," I requested her.

I called up Wang and told him, I won't be able to talk much as I was yet not feeling well. I dozed off again.
