Herscherik

Chapter Three: Pocket Watches, Counts and Puppets Part Six

The room was a luxurious one.

Originally one of the king's glances to welcome guests, but now all the windows are covered in thick curtains and dim. The glowing lighting seemed to make the air even heavier on the spot.

On the high throne of the upper seat is the king, and on the side is refrained from by the minister, beside whom the presiding judge reads out the counts of Luceria. Around, nobles, high-ranking officials and knights were aligned to keep silence.

(Soon a guilty plea has been added...... are you going to take me for a replacement.

Count Luzeria mocks herself.

He was shackled, but his figure was wrapped in something of a sartorial kind to be called aristocracy. His hair was also carefully groomed, and it was the birth of the original gentleman of a lying nobleman who was assaulted when he was caught.

"Your Highness is a nobleman of the kingdom and will grant this death as an amnesty from His Majesty.

And what was offered was a cup made of gold and jewels.

Giving death --suicide by poison.

Count Grimm was behind the Minister's stern face when he threw his gaze at the upper seat.

And the king stared at himself with a face so bright and blue that he could see it from afar. Solje Gracis, king of the Kingdom of Gracis, the father of Hershelik, who vowed allegiance last night. That's the man.

(I thought they looked alike before, but they don't look alike at all.

That could have been my subordinate's desire. Yesterday, however, the prince exposed to the moon and night had never given up like a king.

I wanted to do something about myself before I even met him. That's what I really thought. And I was saddened by my helplessness.

(But you weren't trapped in despair.

That young prince's emerald-like blue eye never gave up like a king.

Count Luceria is shackled off and receives a cup of gold filled with poisoned liquor.

I had no fear of dying. No, fear did exist, but there was much more hope in his chest than that.

(O Creator, O many gods, bless me. And with you...)

"To the Kingdom of Gracis, prosperity and glory!

Count Luzeria drank the cup of gold at once.

Church bells rang through open windows.

The bell is a signpost of the dead. The soul of the dead rings equally to ten thousand people, whether good or evil, lest they be lost in the afterlife, yes Hershelik was taught by Meliá.

The bell that now sends the ringing dead meant that the Count of Luceria traveled.

Sitting in a chair placed in a window, hershelik gripped the pocket watch he had in his hand strongly the moment the bell rang, making his sarcastic blonde hair spring breeze.

"This world is survived by the strong, the wise. The other fools are either used to die or disobeyed to die!

I remember the word the Viscount named Grimm said last night. His face, hidden from sight, was burned in the back of his brain.

(Japan also did have such a place.

Reminds me of Japan in my previous life.

If politicians want to corrupt, the press will make a scene and resign. What a scene. I was angry at myself for thinking about the taxes on the people. But there was no reason for the powerful to use their power and force them to shut up. Of course there was no death penalty to that extent.

(But not this one.

Whoever tried to do the right thing was eliminated by a strong and wise evil with power.

This world is more brutal than games and novels.

Having preferred such genres in my previous life, I have spent my entire life feeling as though I was looking at this world over the screen, from the age of one to the present.

"Hershey, what do we do?

After finishing all the stories, the father asks his last son, who can't stop crying.

'If you want, you can leave the royal family. You can go to your son-in-law to another safe country, or if you can do what you want, you can go that way.

That was my greatest love as a father. Even if he stays in the royal family, will he be kept or killed by a party of ministers? Unlike the other princes, I have no back shield.

If I'm bad, I might kill my father and try to be a second puppet, and if there's a national revolt, all royalty will kill me. I'm sure the minister will be keeping the king alive for that time, while taking real power.

If I want what my father said, I will be safe. If you leave the royal family and forget everything, you will surely be happy.

(But what about my father? What about the soul of the Count who passed away entrusting everything? What about the people who were said to be weak?

"Just because you're weak, it's wrong for the right person, the serious person, to look at the world like an idiot.

Spring breezes or windows rushing indoors. I felt like the Count had answered my words.

Hershelik jumps off his chair and looks up at the sky when he grips his pocket watch hard again.

"Count, you're beside me, aren't you?

That bell sends the dead. We should be on our way to the afterlife. But last night, the Count vowed to be beside himself forever, even as a soul.

"I'm not running.

I was born a prince. My first position was set. That is a fact that cannot be changed, a position that is made up at the expense of my father.

But I don't know that. If I stayed ignorant. Now that I know everything, I am in a position in this world where I can change the world.

I can't just cry and whatnot ------ I don't cry anymore.

"Absolutely, change. I'll try to protect it.

Make sure my father, my family and my country protect everything they mocked about being vulnerable.

It was the moment when Ryoko Hayakawa decided to be ready for her first reincarnation into Hershelik.
