Chapter 5: A Really Stupid Move

“And what if I decide not to let you go?” Song Wenxin’s words had roused something in him, and Jiang Beihan’s usually cool and emotionless face showed signs of interest and curiosity.

She felt a rush of emotion–of panic, confusion, and also fear.

Scared out of her wits, she had opened her mouth in an attempt to bite at his lips, but, somehow, he seemed to have predicted her next move and pulled his lips away suddenly, successfully evading her attack!

“So, what about now?” he taunted, narrowing his eyes as he used his palm to cup her chin, resting his slender thumb on her trembling lips and gently rubbing.

His eyes shone darkly as he stared intently at her lips–those lips that had almost made him lose control just a short while ago.

He could not understand why or how that kiss–a feathery, light kiss–could have had such an impact on him, causing him to breathe unevenly.

It was at that moment when he had almost lost his self-control.

He, who had always prided himself on his excellent power of self-control, had had a near miss today.

Song Wenxin glared at him for a while. At such a close range, she discovered that this man’s facial features were even more attractive than she had imagined.

Ultimately, it was the crystal residue on his lips that seemed to remind her of something, and she immediately raised her hand to brush away his hand that had been caressing her lips. Then, she raised her arm and began wiping her lips subconsciously on her sleeve.

There still remained the lingering taste of his breath on her lips.

She had said that he was a good guy just to make him feel good about himself… in fact, she did not think that he was a good person at all.

“So, do you mean that I am a bad guy?” Amused at her unease and confusion, Jiang Beihan could not resist asking further.

Song Wenxin wanted so much to nod in response to his latest question but had decided to hold back in the end.

Under the circumstances, she was definitely not going to provoke him, knowing full well that the consequences would be unfavorable to her!

Biting her lip, she took some time to calm herself down before transforming herself into a victim, looking at him.
