His Possession

1 A Doctor's Job

I went to see the little girl before her operation.

Her eyes were consumed by fear and nervousness seeing the nurses talking and discussing the operation procedures.I went close to her and sat beside her on the bed. She was lying down so wanted to sit up but I waved not to.

Last time I checked her medical history I remembered that I saw she was only 11 years old. I sat beside her on the bed and whispered,

"Do you wanna hear the story of an fallen angel?"

She asked with curiosity, "You will tell me a story?"

"Yes I'd love to"

"But I gotta go soon," She said with dissatisfaction after peeking at the nurses behind me.

"Don't worry, my story is very short"

"Ok then!" Her eyes flickered with happiness.

"Do you know that fallen angels don't remember their past after coming into the earth?"

"They don't?"

"No, they forget everything including the fact that they have super strength and their ability to heal quickly"

"But how do you know?"

"Because I've seen them before and you are one of them!"

"I'm one of them!" Her eyes were glittering with happiness but then she bent her head down with disbelief and said, "But mama said I'm a sick kid."

"Well your mama doesn't know the fact that you have super powers to heal as well. We doctors are planning to give you back those super powers by this operation. After this operation you are gonna get an amazing healing power and heal fast as lightning!" I said with great excitement.

"Really! I'm gonna get my super powers again?"

"Yes, now you be strong and consume the power well ok? I came to inform you that you are gonna be just fine. Nothing to worry about."

"Thank you so much!" The child said smiling with happiness.

"My pleasure sweety!"

I came back to my room. A nurse came and told me they are ready for the operation.

I'm one of the best doctors of our hospital.

A cardiologist and a senior phycologist. Most senior doctors that I've worked with tell me not to do the chit chat with paitient before the operation. They consider it a time waste and think that it's not our job. But I always worked differently and I worked according my way which has brought me success in an early age.

I wore the apron and became ready for the operation. The child has a severe heart problem. She has to go through a heart transplant surgery. I don't like fear in my patients eyes before surgery. It's my job as a doctor to heal my patients. Not only physically but also mentally.

"Doctor Grace?"

"I'm coming," I replied with a smile.
