Hogwarts: I'm a model wizard

Chapter 783 Voldemort's Obsession

It was a rare time for No. 12 Grimmauld Place to be so lively. Everyone gathered together to celebrate a memorable day, and some old wine barrels could also use this as an excuse to drink a small glass of wine.

Usually, in order to deal with situations that might occur at any time, they never dared to drink and could only endure it, but today with Dumbledore here, they could indulge themselves a little.

When Sirius came back with the Fire Whiskey that the Black family had kept for who knows how many years, he found that the people around the table had already started to raise their glasses.

"Hey, why can't you wait for me to come back?" Sirius put the bottle on the table dissatisfiedly, "You will never think of what good things you have missed. Even I can't find a second bottle of Fire Whiskey of this age."

"It doesn't matter, you can leave it at Remus' wedding." Mr. Weasley said nonchalantly, "But now you'd better put down the broken bottle and taste this."

"Broken bottle?" Sirius once suspected that he didn't make it clear, and subconsciously turned the bottle to reveal the date of 1859 on it.

"Look carefully, this is Ogden's most classic Dragon Crystal Barrel Fire Whiskey, a real aged wine. How dare you call it a broken bottle?"

"Ha, it's only less than 150 years old." Mr. Weasley sneered with disdain.

This made Sirius even more confused. Since when did 150-year-old Fire Whiskey become so unattractive?

"Arthur is right. You should really put that broken bottle away today." Finally, Lupin couldn't stand it anymore. He picked up an ordinary glass bottle next to him and poured the crystal amber mead into the quilt in front of Sirius.

"This is the real good stuff... a thousand-year-old mead."

"Mead and... wait, how many years did you say?" Sirius almost jumped up from his chair and looked at Lupin in disbelief. "Are you kidding? I've never heard of a thousand-year-old mead."

"The process is a bit complicated." Dumbledore said with a smile, "But if you only count the time, it is true. Why don't you try it yourself?"

Dumbledore's assurance was obviously more credible than Lupin's. Sirius took a sip doubtfully... Then he decisively put the whiskey in his hand aside.

This is not surprising. After all, it is produced by Helga Hufflepuff. Even if the cellaring time is ignored, the taste will definitely not be bad. This is the most basic quality of a foodie.

After drinking a few sips of mead, the atmosphere of the banquet became more lively.

After Sirius arrived, the next step was to give birthday gifts.

It was mainly for Harry, who could only live here at present and could not receive gifts in advance like Kyle, and this year was his seventeenth birthday.

For wizards, the seventeenth birthday of adulthood is a big day, and it should be celebrated well. If it weren't for the meeting held by Dumbledore, there might be more people staying for dinner.

But everyone brought gifts, even Mundungus left a mailbox out of politeness... It was a real mailbox, and no one knew which Muggle door he had taken it from.

Later, after getting Harry's consent, Mrs. Weasley threw it away.

In fact, Harry originally wanted to give it to Mr. Weasley because he looked very interested, but unfortunately, Mrs. Weasley disagreed and was firm in her attitude.

So Harry had to give up.

At the table, several adults took out the gifts they had prepared in advance and handed them over, including Dumbledore.

The gift he prepared for Harry was similar to Kyle's, both of which were wool products, but the difference was that Harry got a pair of shorts... maybe shorts.

Although Kyle didn't understand what kind of mental state Dumbledore was in when he burst out with inspiration, he had to say that after seeing Harry's gift, his wool short-sleeved shirt suddenly became more pleasing to the eye... No, it should be said that it was much more pleasing to the eye. At least when he wore it out, he would only be stared at, which was already good.

There was also a book called "12 Ways to Charm Witches" given by Fred and George. They thought Harry needed it.

Kyle also looked through it curiously. How should I put it? It was just average. It was more famous than practical.

And it was full of old routines. Single Muggle gentlemen stopped chatting up girls like this ten years ago.

But Ron was very fond of this book and regarded it as a treasure. Bill and Charlie also kept telling Harry the benefits of this book. It seemed that wizards were really lacking in knowledge in this area.

The banquet went smoothly. An hour later, Dumbledore was the first to stand up and leave the table. He had many other things to deal with and couldn't stay here.

Sirius wanted to see him off, but Dumbledore shook his head. He looked at Kyle and smiled and said, "If you are full, I have a few words to say to you..."

"Oh, of course." Kyle said. He understood what Dumbledore meant and stood up to see him to the door.

The moonlight outside was bright, but after passing through the thick sky of London, it was only a blur when it fell to the ground.

Dumbledore stood at the door, putting on his robe with one hand with some effort, while Kyle stood beside him with his arms crossed, watching indifferently, with no intention of coming forward to help.

"I thought you would help me." Dumbledore said jokingly, "I'm still a little uncomfortable with this."

"Oh, I thought this was your new way of pastime. After all... wandless spellcasting is pretty simple," Kyle shrugged, took off his robe and threw it aside. He moved his fingers and the robe flew back to him.

"Not everything needs to be solved with magic." Dumbledore said.

I don't know if he thought too much, Kyle always felt that he had some other meaning, but Dumbledore didn't continue to explain.

He gathered his robes and lifted his immobile arm into his sleeves.

"I still have some things to do." He said to Kyle, "I want you to promise me that you must not put your wonderful ideas into practice before I come back."

"What wonderful ideas?" Kyle blinked, and didn't react to what he meant for a while.

It wasn't until a few seconds later that he realized that Dumbledore was talking about using noise to attack Voldemort's name.

"Don't worry, Professor."

Kyle said without hesitation: "I'm not stupid enough to take the initiative to provoke..." At this point, he suddenly paused, and then continued: "... the mysterious man with the Elder Wand."

Dumbledore's eyes flickered slightly. He always felt that Kyle was implying himself, but there was no evidence, and even if there was evidence, he couldn't say anything.

Because it was indeed him who lost the Elder Wand.

But Dumbledore didn't care. After getting the answer he wanted, he nodded and disappeared into the hazy night.

On the street not far away, a drunk was staring at this side, stretching out his hands, with his mouth wide open, as if he would scream in the next second.

"Oblivion is empty!"

Before he shouted, Kyle waved his hand lightly, and the drunk's eyes immediately became dazed. He rubbed his eyes, as if wondering why he suddenly stopped, then shook his head and continued to stagger forward.

On the other side, Kyle had also returned to the house.

At this time, the birthday part of the banquet had ended, and now everyone was discussing tomorrow's wedding.

After a brief and almost hasty discussion, Lupin and Tonks decided to set the wedding date for tomorrow.

Of course, this may also be related to Dumbledore's injury.

After learning that even Dumbledore had lost one arm and his wand was taken away, everyone would have a sense of crisis, and it is understandable that they want to put more important things on the agenda as soon as possible.

However, these are all things that Mr. Weasley and his friends need to consider, and have nothing to do with Kyle and Harry. After eating dessert, they were driven back to the room.

After returning to the room, Kyle finally had time to think about the various things that had happened recently.

The first is Harry's transfer action. This is undoubtedly the best opportunity for Voldemort to kill him, and everyone thinks so.

Whether it is Kyle, Dumbledore, or others, everyone has always believed that Voldemort will take this opportunity to kill the savior who once defeated him at all costs.

But they were all wrong. Voldemort didn't care about Harry at all. Instead, when the Order of the Phoenix focused its attention on Privet Drive, he unexpectedly attacked another important place... the Ministry of Magic.

They succeeded. Minister Fudge was killed, which dealt a heavy blow to their momentum?

The Floo Network was also deliberately disrupted, many important letters were stolen, and the battle plan deployed by the Aurors was clearly seen.

It can be said that this attack was a great victory for the Death Eaters, allowing them to gain a great advantage without any effort.

In Austria, Voldemort also used Ollivander as a distraction to cripple one of Dumbledore's arms and snatched the powerful Elder Wand.

Kyle didn't know if Dumbledore had any plans, but it was a fact that the Elder Wand was stolen. With the recognized strongest wand, even if it was not completely recognized as the master, Voldemort's strength would definitely be greatly improved.

To put it a bit inappropriately, perhaps Dumbledore could no longer beat him.

Kyle sat back in his chair, staring out the window in a daze.

He couldn't understand why Voldemort suddenly gave up his obsession with Harry. Didn't he always want to kill him with his own hands?

Kyle always felt that Voldemort's character was very paranoid. He didn't know if it was because his soul was cut into too many pieces, he had a kind of almost crazy obsession with Harry who had killed him once.

He wanted revenge, and by killing Harry with his own hands, he would prove to everyone that the "savior" was just a self-deceiving joke, a false hope, and he would always be the unbeatable Dark Lord.

In fact, he had done this before, and the Death Eaters had several opportunities to kill Harry.

For example, in the Triwizard Tournament, Barty Crouch Jr. pretended to be Filch and kidnapped Harry because Voldemort wanted to kill Harry with his own hands, which allowed him to live until the end of the ceremony and wait for Kyle's rescue.

Also, when snatching the prophecy crystal ball in the Department of Mysteries, everyone else faced more than two Death Eaters, but Harry had no one around him, and he was as leisurely as if he was shopping.

Even the Death Eaters tried to avoid him as much as possible when casting spells, for fear that they would accidentally kill him.

This is obviously Voldemort's request. He needs Harry alive, and the Death Eaters will definitely not dare to kill him.

These all prove how deep Voldemort's obsession with Harry is...but he gave up on such a good opportunity to relocate.

It was as if Harry had suddenly gone from being his inner demon to an inconsequential passerby.

But I have to admit that without Harry, this obsession was right, and the Death Eaters immediately gained an unprecedented advantage.

It's just that it's not very friendly to them.

"Bang bang..."

Just as he was thinking about it, a knock on the door suddenly interrupted Kyle's thoughts.

He opened the door and it was Chris.

"What are you thinking about?" Chris asked.

"It's nothing, Dad." Kyle shook his head, "Have you discussed all the details of the wedding?"

"It's almost done, and there's nothing to discuss." Chris walked in and said, "The situation is special now. We don't want to invite too many people, nor do we want to make it too complicated.

"What Remus and Nymphadora mean is that it is enough for everyone to witness it as a formality."

"Is that so?" Kyle nodded, "But you must not say that in front of her. If the bride fights with the guests at the wedding, it will be a bit disgraceful."

"Ah, I almost forgot, Tonks doesn't like people calling her by her name." Chris said with a smile: "Fortunately you reminded me, I said why she looked at me so strange just now, and her hair was inexplicable turned red."

Kyle smiled.

Tonks' mood is usually reflected in the color of her hair. For example, when she announced that she was going to marry Lupine, her hair was a bubblegum pink.

Dark red or brown usually means she is a little angry, but she was able to resist reminding Chris, which Kyle didn't expect.

The two chatted for a while about topics related to the wedding. Kyle originally wanted to be responsible for the drinks that would be needed at the time. He could just pour two bottles out of the gold cup and it would also make Lupine and Tonks look good.

But Chris told him that the job had been taken over by Sirius, and he paid for all the expenses including drinks, food, dresses and so on.

Kyle thought for a moment and didn't say anything else. The two of them were brothers who had died, so it was really inappropriate for him to interfere with each other.

"By the way, will you stay here tonight?" Kyle changed the subject: "I remember there seem to be a lot of empty rooms upstairs, and they have all been cleaned. I just need to tidy them up a little bit."

"No, I have to go back to the Ministry of Magic quickly. I have a lot of things to do these days, and I may have to live in the Ministry." Chris said,

"So busy?" Kyle frowned.

"Being busy is one thing, and the other is that we need to observe some people's situations at close range." Chris said vaguely, "In addition, I came to you today for another matter."

"What?"

"It's Minister Bones. She asked me to remind you that it's time to go to work. You can't keep getting paid for nothing."

Kyle was a little embarrassed, he had indeed been deliberately ignoring this matter.

"But you don't have to go tomorrow, you can start from the day after tomorrow. Remember not to be late then."

Kyle nodded.

After Chris finished speaking, he stood up and prepared to leave. Kyle sent him to the living room downstairs.

When they came down, Mr. Weasley was already waiting here. He also needed to rush to the Ministry and happened to be on his way. When Chris arrived, the two of them opened the door and walked out together.

Then Kyle turned around, only to see a few people crouching down in front of the restaurant, secretly eavesdropping on the conversation inside.

The most conspicuous ones were naturally Fred and George. They lay down next to the door frame and put an ear-like thing on it, and then the sound inside would come out from the other end.

Behind the two of them, Harry, Ron and Ginny gathered in a circle, listening carefully to the sounds coming from the ear props.

After seeing Harry, Kyle couldn't help but think of Voldemort's changes again.

Really... Why did Harry suddenly lose his temper? Wasn't Voldemort getting tired of the old a bit too quickly?
