Hogwarts: This wizard wants to make progress too much
#35 - Section 35
Snape had been acting like a madman lately, making Harry's life even more difficult, which made him eager to find out the specific reason.
"By the way, Ethan, do you know Nicolas Flamel?"
Suddenly, Harry seemed to think of something and asked Ethan.
Recently, he and Ron had been frequenting the library more often than usual, just to find out who Nicolas Flamel was, as it was related to the package Hagrid had taken out of Gringotts.
It could only be said that their Gryffindor curiosity was truly strong.
"Didn't you buy a lot of Chocolate Frogs from George last time?"
"His information is on the cards inside. If I tell you directly, your efforts these past few days will have been in vain."
If he and Ron had seriously read the cards in the Dumbledore Chocolate Frogs, they wouldn't have had to search for so long.
"Okay, I'll look for it when I get back during the holidays. I remember Ron has a hobby of collecting Chocolate Frog cards."
Finally finding a direction made Harry feel a little frustrated.
He shouldn't have listened to Ron's nonsense, saying that this matter couldn't be known by others, which led them to only search for clues on their own.
If it weren't for Ethan's words, who knows when they would have found out who Nicolas Flamel was.
During their conversation, they arrived at the boarding point.
This was an open space with hundreds of carriages neatly arranged. The older students boarded the carriages naturally, while the new students boarded in an orderly manner under the arrangement of the prefects.
Ethan, Hermione, Cassandra, and Cho Chang boarded a carriage together. The carriage had a smell of straw and mildew.
After everyone had boarded, the carriage began to move directly. The shafts in front were still empty, and as it ran, the carriage flew up. It was quite fast, but a little bumpy.
"Is this an self-driving magical flying carriage?"
Hermione looked at everything in surprise. If it were the Muggle world, it would be a paranormal event, but this was the wizarding world, and everything was much more reasonable.
Anyway, there were many things that moved on their own in Hogwarts, even the people in the portraits could run out by themselves.
"The creatures pulling us are Thestrals, a XXXX-rated magical creature. If you've read the book 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,' you'll know it. Only those who have experienced death can see it."
Ethan explained to the three girls, knowing from their reactions that none of them could see it.
Ethan was able to see the Thestrals because he had used the Killing Curse to kill a wizard.
These things didn't look great. They were skinny and emaciated, with all their ribs exposed. They were jet-black, had dragon-like heads, and huge bat wings on their backs.
He just didn't know which one of them his wand core came from.
"No one mentioned this problem last year. Like Hermione, I thought the carriage moved on its own."
Cho Chang also suddenly understood. Although she was curious when she first got on the carriage, she didn't delve into it.
"When my family went to the farm for vacation, I saw the farmer kill a sheep, but I still can't see it."
Asking questions when she didn't understand, or searching for answers, was Hermione's habit.
"This experience of life and death doesn't apply to animals, it has to be people. Killing someone with your own hands, or having a relative or friend die in front of you, and you are sad and deeply impressed by it."
Ethan helplessly explained. Harry was able to see the Thestrals because he had witnessed Cedric's death.
Then Ethan described the appearance of the Thestrals to the three of them.
Not long after he finished speaking, the Thestrals brought them to the station. The speed was really fast.
After boarding the Hogwarts Express, the four of them found a compartment to sit down in. Ethan used magic to put their luggage on the rack.
"Ethan, do you want to come to my house for Christmas? You signed the 'Decree for the Restriction of Underage Sorcery,' so you can't use magic outside of school, but you can at my house. My house is very big."
She wanted to make the first move. Ethan was so outstanding that her parents shouldn't refuse, right!
Cassandra thought to herself.
"My dad said he's taking me to Santa Claus Village in Finland for Christmas this year, Ethan, do you want to go with me?"
Giving Cassandra a glance, Hermione also invited, not wanting to be outdone.
Although her house wasn't as big as Cassandra's, and she couldn't use magic, who could refuse to spend Christmas in Santa Claus Village!
Cho Chang just smiled and didn't say anything.
"Is it possible that I spend Christmas at my own house?"
Ethan looked at the two of them helplessly. Fortunately, Penelope went to the prefect's compartment. They were responsible for patrolling and maintaining order, otherwise, according to her personality, she would most likely have joined in.
"Cho, where are you going for Christmas?"
Seeing that Ethan wasn't going to either of their houses, Hermione didn't argue anymore and turned to look at Cho Chang, who was sitting together.
As far as she knew, many places in Asia didn't celebrate Christmas. They didn't believe in Jesus, and Cho Chang was Asian.
"I'm also staying at home!"
"Does your family celebrate Christmas?"
"We do, but we don't pay much attention to it. My family is Chinese!"
Cho Chang, this was the name used in Britain. At home, her parents called her Zhang Qiu. Both parents were Chinese, and they had only come to Britain in recent years. As for Christmas, they just gave gifts and ate a little better according to local customs, nothing special.
Both parents worked as liaison officers, which was similar to an embassy in the Muggle world, and had come to Britain.
She also stayed at Hogwarts to be closer to her parents.
"Have you been back to China?"
"I have, I went to my grandfather's house last summer vacation."
Time passed in the girls' chatter, until the sky darkened, and the train finally returned to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
"Ethan, I'll definitely make the magic you want when I get home this time!"
Cassandra said to Ethan, guaranteeing as she walked off the train with her suitcase.
After that competition, she sent a letter home to her father, requesting him to send her the cultivation methods for the Fire Shield, Gubre's Immortal Fire, and Fire God's Path spells. However, he refused, saying that these spells were too difficult and dangerous, and that they were not spells she should be learning at her age.
But Cassandra was sure that her family definitely had these spells, maybe not all of them, but at least one.
If her family wouldn't give them to her, couldn't she find them herself?
This Christmas, she would turn the house upside down to find them.
"Okay, but I won't force it. It's best if you find them, but if you don't, it's fine."
"Don't worry, I definitely can…"
"Cassandra, over here!"
Belinda Voray had been standing here for a while, but her daughter had been talking to the little boy next to her and didn't seem to notice her. Luckily, she was the one picking her up today. What would her husband say if he saw this? (A woman takes her husband's last name upon marriage)
"This is Ethan Yadrien, I mentioned him in my letter."
Cassandra, her face flushed, pulled Ethan to her mother and introduced him, then pointed to the two behind her.
"These two are Hermione Granger and Cho Chang!"
Mrs. Voray gave Cassandra a meaningful look.
"Mr. Yadrien, hello. Cassandra has mentioned you many times in her letters, saying that you take good care of her. When do you have time to visit our home?"
Saying she mentioned him many times was a lie, it was only three times.
But Mrs. Voray, who knew her daughter well, couldn't possibly not know what Cassandra repeatedly mentioning a boy her age meant. She used to be disdainful of everyone else.
If her daughter took a liking to him, it meant he was even more outstanding than her. Otherwise, he wouldn't catch Cassandra's eye. Plus, after seeing him today, she could totally accept this son-in-law!
As for the other two, they were likely her daughter's rivals.
After all, outstanding boys are always popular with girls.
"Next time, definitely next time!"
Ethan was a little embarrassed. Cassandra's mother felt a little too enthusiastic.
But the mother and daughter really looked alike!
Blonde hair, blue eyes, big waves, long legs, and a slender waist. He wondered how many years it would take for Cassandra to develop like that.
"Then it's settled, definitely next time!"
After saying that, she greeted Hermione and Cho Chang behind her, then apparated away with Cassandra.
Next was Cho Chang's father, a middle-aged Asian man.
After greeting him, he also apparated away with Cho Chang.
Outside the station, Hermione introduced Ethan to her parents again. Only after Hermione got on the train did Ethan head to the driver waiting for him.
Meeting three sets of parents in one day was really exhausting.
Chapter 59: Magic Enhancing Potion
After resting at home for a night, Ethan went to Knockturn Alley the next day.
His parents were on a business trip and not in the country, but they promised to be home before Christmas. Now there was no one to restrain him.
He just didn't know if it was because of the upcoming holidays, but were these dark wizards out to boost their performance?
Just like how thieves are especially rampant before the New Year in China.
As soon as he entered Knockturn Alley, before he even had time to find a secluded place to activate Shadow Sneak, he was targeted.
It really was destined for Ethan to earn some extra money!
So Ethan started walking down the small road, deliberately distancing himself from the crowd, leading them to a sparsely populated area.
Soon, he arrived at a deserted alley. As soon as he entered the corner, the person couldn't wait any longer!
"Crucio!"
A gloomy, hoarse voice rang out from behind Ethan, but before the curse could hit him, a colorful figure darted out from under Ethan's cloak at extreme speed, slamming headfirst into the Unforgivable Curse.
And with unabated momentum, a wing slashed at the hand holding the wizard's wand.
Blood spurted wildly, and the wizard watched helplessly as his wrist and wand flew into the air together.
Only then did he realize what had happened.
"Ah!"
A shrill scream rang out, truly an afterthought.
"Fwooper… Fwooper!"
The one responsible for lookout, about ten meters behind the wizard, retreated in horror after seeing the attacking figure.
An adult Fwooper couldn't be subdued by just one or two wizards. Small size, fast speed, high magic resistance, and poisonous. Many wizards would rather encounter a dragon than a Fwooper.
Moreover, this thing eats brains, making it a rather evil Class XXXXX Magical Creature.
Ethan didn't know if his was an adult or not. It wasn't an adult when he first raised it. How many years it takes to become an adult, and how long until it becomes an adult, he didn't know at all.
But after eating energy cubes for so long, plus dragon brain, its size was already larger than the standard data recorded in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", and its physical fitness was even better.
Normal Fwoopers, although also strong, couldn't sever an arm with their wings. Breaking bones was no problem, but mainly because the bone spurs on both sides of the wings weren't as sharp as Ethan's.
"I surrender!"
Saying that, he put away his wand, raised both hands, and faced Ethan's direction.
In front of a Fwooper, he had no chance of escaping. Rather than fighting to the death and then dying, he was willing to humbly beg for his life.
Ethan watched this scene speechlessly. Wasn't this guy from next door!
He surrendered so skillfully!
"Bruno, do it, kill him. What's the use of surrendering?"
"He's just a little wizard relying on a Fwooper. Killing him might eliminate the Fwooper threat."
The wizard clutching his severed hand looked at his companion with a pained expression.
He didn't expect his companion to be such a coward. No wonder he was from that country.
"You don't know anything!"
Bruno glanced at his companion, then turned to look in Ethan's direction; "I really surrendered, do whatever you want with me."
"Bruno, you…"
