Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#139 - Luna and Hermione's first meeting
"Good afternoon, Mr. Xenophilius." Roger and Luna's first meeting was when he accompanied his daughter. Roger, of course, recognized him.
As Xenophilius approached, Roger stopped talking to Luna and greeted him politely.
"Good afternoon, Roger," Xenophilius replied with mixed feelings.
Many people who knew Roger as a classmate's parent had their own views and ideas about him.
Roger's initial contact was with Mr. Abbott. He met Roger just after Roger was released from prison, when terrifying rumors were flying everywhere.
But after a long period of getting along, Mr. Abbott found Roger to be a very friendly child, so he gave him some care in various ways.
In addition to pity, his child, Hannah, was the same age as Roger, so he wanted Roger to take care of Hannah a little at school, at least to prevent her from being bullied.
In this regard, Roger also provided some secret care at Hogwarts. It didn't require too much effort. Roger only needed to show that they were familiar, and naturally no one would dare to do anything.
After that, there was Lucius, who was half. The two had contact after the school board meeting, but he was apologizing for Draco Malfoy's offense shortly after the start of school.
Although Draco didn't dare to provoke Roger afterward, Lucius felt that it was better to show some attitude. He didn't want his somewhat shy son to become a 'bad kid' in the eyes of the seer.
The Weasley family didn't have too many thoughts. To them, Roger was just an ordinary friend of George and Fred.
In comparison, Harry, the orphan of a Phoenix Society comrade, was closer to them.
Then there were Harry's uncle and aunt.
In Vernon's eyes, Roger was a terrible friend who hated little devils.
Although he was a Muggle, as a middle and upper-level member of a Muggle company, and the pillar of a middle-class family, he was at least proficient in observing people's expressions.
From the process of picking up Harry from King's Cross Station to go home, seeing the way the surrounding wizards looked at Roger, he knew that Roger was probably very extraordinary in the wizarding society.
Vernon didn't like Roger, but he didn't dare to rashly say anything harsh to offend him.
And in Harry's aunt's eyes, Roger was a different person.
Harry's aunt's feelings for Harry had always been very complicated, with the love between relatives, as well as the jealousy and resentment that stretched down from Lily.
And, the fear of the unknown and dangerous magical world.
Roger's appearance actually made her breathe a long sigh of relief in her heart.
With such a powerful friend protecting him, at least she didn't have to worry about Harry's safety.
If she saw her sister again a hundred years later, she could face Lily without shame.
As a woman who had just gotten married and had children, she felt that she had done her best to raise her estranged sister's child to adulthood at the risk of her life.
And Luna's father, Xenophilius, had very different ideas from all of the above.
He was the editor of a newspaper and had his own channels for obtaining information.
He was very clear that many of the seemingly outrageous things about Roger's 'rumors' were actually true.
Roger's hands were really stained with a lot of blood.
Unlike Harry's aunt, who knew little about the magical world, Xenophilius knew that people like Roger, who could be seen by discerning people as going to do great things, would always be surrounded by storms of blood and rain.
Hannah's magical talent destined her that even if she had some karma with Roger, it would be difficult to build a stable relationship and keep up with Roger's pace.
And Luna—
Xenophilius didn't want his only child to be involved in the storms caused by the ups and downs of that era.
Not seeking to get close, nor being afraid, unable to treat it calmly, nor regarding it as a savior, Xenophilius just wanted Luna to live an ordinary and peaceful life.
But looking at his daughter taking the initiative to circle around Roger, asking questions, Xenophilius's heart was full of helplessness.
Just as Luna would not show sadness in front of her father, not wanting to make her father sad, Xenophilius also didn't want to do things that violated his daughter's will.
Unless that thing was outrageously wrong. "So, there are actually no moon rabbits on the moon, and no aliens on the back of the moon?"
"At least I didn't find any when I went. The moon has been walked around by me and Harry for most of the way. The only life on it is the two of us, and there are no relics of previous civilizations."
On the way to Flourish and Blotts to pick out textbooks, Luna asked Roger all sorts of whimsical and inexplicable questions.
"There are no dark wizards in Germany enslaving armies of fire sprites?"
"I haven't investigated this, but I think it's probably not there."
But Roger didn't find it annoying. On the contrary, he was very interested.
Luna was a very interesting person, of course, in the magical sense.
Magic is a miracle of the mind, and a wizard's thoughts have a great impact on their magic.
The same Three-Dimensional Magic in Roger's hands and in Dumbledore's hands are completely two different development directions.
Normally speaking, as people get older, they will gradually harmonize with the world and assimilate to a certain extent with the people around them in terms of thought.
Even the so-called mavericks often just change from following the voice of the majority to following the voice of the minority, jumping from one circle to another.
But Roger, who knew his destiny, knew that Luna had always insisted on observing the world in front of her with her fairy-tale perspective. She would sincerely believe in those incredible things.
Until it was proven false.
With such a mind, if she learned Three-Dimensional Magic, would there be some very interesting changes?
Even if he put these aside, simply exploring how Luna viewed everything that happened outside also provided Roger with a different perspective.
Oh, I almost forgot, the last time we met, I also thought about studying what the so-called Crumple-Horned Snorkack actually was with Luna.
I'll find time to ask her if she's willing after school starts.
If I still have the energy to study this at that time.
After putting the last required textbook into his shopping cart, Roger's heart was rarely a little heavy.
The first stage of the Time Plague has met the minimum requirements after about two months of preparation.
The continuous Time-Turner Illusion Charm along the way during the journey, another preparatory work has also been completed.
The architecture of the virtual reality is enough.
Now what's missing is the next upgrade of the Second Brain, thread division of thinking.
When the fourth requirement is also met, the extremely risky path to immortality, which was inspired by Snape at the station, can be officially explored.
Can I survive? Or to be more precise, is the existence that survives still 'me'?
Roger couldn't guarantee it either.
"Your mood has changed."
"Oh?" Roger looked at Luna, who suddenly changed the subject, puzzled. "The flight path of the Crumple-Horned Snorkack has changed, from orderly to somewhat chaotic."
Roger noticed that although Luna's eyes were locked in his direction, she was obviously not looking at him, but at something behind him.
"— . Well, it's back again."
Luna's eyes looking at Roger became brighter. She had never seen this kind of change before.
Roger couldn't see the Snorkack, but he could see something else.
Looking at Luna, Roger watched the tremor of her pupils, and through the calculation of the Second Brain, Roger probably knew the distribution of Snorkacks around him.
The distribution area is so wide?
Roger frowned slightly, just as he was about to ask.
"Roger!"
"Oh, Merlin's beard, I finally found you!"
"Let me tell you," the figure rushed to Roger's face anxiously, but halfway through, she realized that there was another person standing in front of Roger.
She restrained the anxious look on her face, smiled at Luna with a little embarrassment, and stopped what she wanted to say: ", Hello, my name is Hermione."
"Luna." Luna reached out and shook Hermione's hand.
It was strange. Obviously, she and Hermione were meeting for the first time, but she vaguely felt a little repelled by her.
Why?
It seemed that she was a friend of the seer, so she shouldn't be a bad person. Why did she have this feeling?
Luna believed in all kinds of incredible and even completely impossible things, but she rarely suffered harm from being deceived.
Because she had a very strong intuition, not only could it be used to perceive the location of others and see Snorkacks.
She could even feel to a certain extent whether others had malice towards her.
And she didn't feel any malice towards herself from Hermione.
"Hermione, are you so anxious, is there something wrong?" Roger asked aside after the two greeted each other.
"Actually— ." Hermione glanced at Luna and hesitated for a moment.
Then she said: "It's about the 'magic' you taught me."
As she spoke, Hermione held up three fingers.
"I, seem to have touched, the 'realm' you said."
Hermione put down one of the raised fingers.
Two fingers.
Roger instantly understood the meaning behind Hermione's words.
"You have developed Second Magic?"
While speaking, Roger silently released a soundproofing spell. Roger often used this when discussing issues with Voldemort.
He was very skilled.
Second Magic?
Luna was stunned for a moment.
When Roger released the soundproofing spell, he did not isolate Luna.
