Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#151 - Return to Hogwarts
The future in the eyes of a Seer and the future in the eyes of a Diviner are different.
Fate is a real force in this world, and those who accidentally glimpse a corner of it don't know how to control or resist this force.
When they see fate, they not only fail to transcend it, but instead, because they come into too much contact with fate, they give the power of fate a 'channel' to vent, making everything 'destined'.
But Seers are existences on another level.
In addition to being able to browse fate more freely, Seers themselves are the embodiment of the crystallization of the power of fate.
They are like super-large celestial bodies in the universe, possessing great 'gravity' that can distort everything around them.
In the eyes of a Seer, fate is impermanent and changeable; even a small action of their own can cause the development of events to flow to another world line.
Therefore, even with the ability to predict the future, Seers rarely use it frequently.
Because witnessing too many uncertain future possibilities can instead bring confusion to the Seer.
But...
"Roger, you're watching, right?" Tucking some stray white hair behind his ear, Grindelwald gazed towards the sky.
The above describes ordinary situations. Once a Seer encounters a special situation, they will definitely use their ability to glance at the future.
If Harry Potter has an anomaly, there is no way that little Seer wouldn't use their prophetic ability to observe the past and future.
Restricted, Grindelwald cannot blatantly pass information to Roger.
But Seers have their own methods.
As long as the little Seer sees him leading Voldemort to the Ministry of Magic, he will naturally understand what he wants to express.
After getting off the Hogwarts Express, Luna and Roger temporarily separated.
According to the admission process, the first-year wizards must follow the footsteps of Slytherin, Gryffindor, and the others when they established Hogwarts, retracing the path once taken by the four founders of Hogwarts.
When he first entered the school last year, Roger only had a smattering of knowledge about the wizarding world and simply followed Hagrid's pace leisurely.
But looking at it again this year, Roger suddenly felt that this might not just be a formality.
In the wizarding world, rituals are everywhere, and this behavior of imitating great wizards...
With a bit of contemplation, Roger and the other older students took a different path from the first-year wizards to the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
As in previous years, Hogwarts would hold the Sorting Ceremony and welcoming feast on this day.
Unlike the first-years' quiet group due to not knowing each other, the crowd here couldn't wait to start chatting as soon as they arrived.
For the children, not seeing each other for more than two months was already a considerable amount of time, and they always had endless things to say.
"Roger, have you seen Harry? I can't find him." A slightly flustered voice sounded beside Roger.
Turning his head, he saw Ron Weasley, and beside him were the Weasley twins, George and Fred.
"Don't worry about Harry. He's been delayed by something. He should be here tomorrow." After using Divination to observe Harry's past, Roger used Voldemort as a springboard to slightly observe Harry's future, confirming that he would be fine.
However, there was a problem.
According to the current trajectory, Harry still accidentally missed the train after breaking free from the time loop.
He wanted to follow the Hogwarts Express's tracks to get to the school, but he failed.
He couldn't pass through Platform 9 3/4.
Harry also tried to forcibly open it with magic, and his spellcasting attracted the attention of the guards on the other side of the platform.
They couldn't allow Harry's actions, even if he was Harry Potter.
If Harry were allowed to go to Hogwarts along the tracks, it would be the guards' dereliction of duty.
But they had a way.
As long as they passed the matter to the Ministry of Magic, the Ministry of Magic would naturally send someone to contact Dumbledore.
Not being in that position, they wouldn't meddle in its affairs. The guards believed that there was nothing wrong with their actions.
But they didn't know one thing: now... Voldemort is also in the Ministry of Magic!
"You'll see Harry in class tomorrow," Roger said, while thinking about the dramatic scene of Harry seeing Voldemort in the Ministry of Magic.
Although there was no danger in this, Roger still didn't want it to happen, because it would make Harry's thoughts shift from magic to worrying more about Voldemort's affairs.
This was not a good thing.
So before even arriving at Hogwarts, Roger had already contacted Dumbledore through Dreamwalking, asking him to send someone to intercept the situation directly before it happened.
Not letting Harry come into contact with Voldemort face-to-face again.
Roger certainly had his own people within the Ministry of Magic, but this was, after all, a Hogwarts matter, so it was better to let the headmaster handle it.
"That's good, that's good." Ron Weasley breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Roger's words.
The wizarding world was not a peaceful place. Even aside from Voldemort and the Death Eaters, there were still quite a few dark wizards and various dangerous magical accidents.
The Daily Prophet and The Quibbler, among other newspapers, almost always had news about magical accidents and mishaps in each issue. Some were just minor things like turning one's chest into a butt, but sometimes there were major incidents where even the bodies couldn't be found.
Not seeing Harry's figure at such a crucial moment as the start of the school year would naturally make Ron worried.
He had searched the crowd three times already.
It wasn't until Roger's words completely dispelled the doubts in his heart.
Roger was a Seer, so his words were, of course, trustworthy.
With Harry's matter settled, the Weasley twins had other things to discuss with Roger.
"The virtual world—"
"...—we failed." The two's expressions were somewhat dejected.
Not long after Roger developed the virtual reality world last semester, this technology attracted great interest from George and Fred.
Roger felt that these two were indeed talented, so he specifically gave them a key to the virtual world creation mode.
When they left school at the end of the semester, the two even said that their "new world" would be ready soon and that they would write to invite Roger to play.
Unfortunately...
Just as the two wanted to explain in detail the problems they encountered in creating the virtual reality, the line in front stopped. The Great Hall of Hogwarts had arrived.
After thinking about it, the Weasley twins gave up on asking Roger about those precise technical details in this noisy environment.
It would be better to find a quiet place to chat in detail in a few days.
Entering the Great Hall, the young wizards took their seats one after another. The dome was still the mysterious magical image, and Dumbledore and the professors were waiting there for a long time.
And this year's Sorting Ceremony was about to begin.
But unlike the attention it received last year, this year the young wizards were still looking forward to seeing what kind of newcomers would come to their house, but they weren't as nervous as last year.
"Roger, which house do you think that girl who was in our compartment on the train will go to?" Neville asked, sitting next to Roger.
Hearing this question, Hermione, who was sitting across the table, also turned her gaze.
Luna had never had a good impression of Hermione, but it wasn't because Hermione had done anything wrong.
It was just that Luna's overly sensitive senses had detected the "danger" after Hermione's second magic had gone wrong.
It's like knowing that your neighbor used to live in a mental hospital, which will naturally affect your senses.
And Hermione didn't really like Luna either, but the reasons were different.
Hermione had discovered that her way of perceiving the world was almost the opposite of Luna's, and the two were naturally incompatible.
It's like people who believe in the heroic view of history versus the people's view of history, or people who lean towards the left wing versus the right wing, always have some conflicts when they sit together.
Hearing the question, Roger thought for a moment, recalling the past, and after confirming that he hadn't yet brought too much personality influence to Luna, he replied, "Ravenclaw or Gryffindor."
"Both are possible, but I think Ravenclaw is probably more likely."
The Hogwarts Sorting is not like the spiritual root detection in cultivating immortality; the personal wishes of the young wizards account for a considerable proportion of it.
And people's will is changeable. Without using prophecy or divination, Roger couldn't give a 100% accurate answer.
"Hufflepuff!" The tattered old Sorting Hat sang loudly.
The first young wizard to be sorted walked towards the Hufflepuff table.
In the world of cultivating immortality, you will be assigned to the corresponding mountain peak according to your spiritual root.
The Hogwarts Sorting is another situation.
As the Sorting Hat said to Roger last year, the standards for sorting aren't that high.
It's not that you have to be 'I shall go even if it be a thousand people' to be called courageous; daring to catch cockroaches or spiders with your bare hands can also be considered, if you really want to.
To be brave and forthright, calm, knowledgeable, intelligent, eager to make contributions, and of good and simple character—people can't be completely devoid of all of these, right?
And people are complex. Most people are not only suitable for one house. At this time, the student's wishes are very important.
Just like Roger, who was most suitable for Slytherin, followed by Gryffindor, and then Ravenclaw, but Roger didn't want to go to Slytherin at the time, so the Sorting Hat let him go to Gryffindor.
Therefore, Roger couldn't be sure which house Luna would definitely go to.
If Luna wanted to come to Gryffindor, considering her courage to participate in the war against Voldemort later, it wasn't impossible for her to come.
