Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity

#165 - Distance and secrets have no meaning

The creature born from the Imaginary Creation magic is called the Thought Shadow.

Besides interstellar communication and acting as a signal repeater, Roger has also developed other applications for it.

For example, by putting half of his brain to sleep, he can instantly project the Thought Shadow to the person he is thinking of, and then use the connection between the Thought Shadow and himself as coordinates to grab and Apparate.

Although limited by the casting distance of Apparition, interstellar teleportation is still impossible.

But within the range of a city, Roger can completely traverse time and space, grabbing anyone he wants to see to his presence!

Unless there is magic similar to Hogwarts that prohibits Apparition around him, but even if there is, it's only slightly more troublesome for Roger.

Except for the three Unforgivable Curses, all other spells currently have counter-curses.

"Hmm? Why aren't you all talking?" Roger said with a smile.

Roger's choice to have the 'meeting' in the Minister of Magic's office was also based on his own considerations.

Just like Dumbledore doesn't want to escalate the political struggle or start a fight, Roger has similar plans.

However, Roger and Dumbledore are also different; Roger is simply waiting for a year or two to achieve great power and reshuffle the cards.

There's no need to rush for a small matter, disrupting his own rhythm.

"... We are not targeting you," one of the Ministry of Magic's high-ranking officials said, seeing that everyone who had been 'grabbed' was silent.

He is the head of the Accidental Magic Reversal Department and one of the leading figures among this group.

Although Roger looks like just a 12-year-old child, and his administrative level within the Ministry of Magic is not as high as his, he still lowered his head and replied in an almost respectful manner.

This is the wizarding world, and ordinary principles and laws are just decorations once your wand is strong enough.

He, who is usually responsible for dealing with 'disasters' in the wizarding world, is well aware of this.

The biggest disaster in the wizarding world is often those powerful wizards.

"But what you are planning to do is targeting me, even if your core motivation is not to be enemies with me, your actions do harm my interests."

Roger was referring to the fact that this political faction wanted to restrict the development of virtual reality technology, using this as a stage to compete with those in the Board of Governors from another political faction.

Roger noticed that their faces were not good.

This is normal; such a group of people who usually live in comfort, leisurely drinking coffee and reading newspapers, or handling their job duties, are suddenly grabbed by an irresistible force and questioned.

Even if the location is a relatively 'familiar' place like the Minister of Magic's office, it's impossible not to be nervous.

"... Don't be afraid, we are just, under the witness of Minister Fudge, discussing matters related to the work of me, the head of the Virtual Reality Management Office."

"If there are any problems, we can discuss them slowly," Roger said in a gentle tone.

'When you grabbed us, your methods didn't seem like you wanted to discuss anything!' one of the Ministry of Magic officials thought to himself.

The middle-aged wizard official lowered his head, not daring to meet Roger's eyes.

Because he knew that there was a spell called Legilimency, which could perceive the other person's thoughts through eye contact.

Wizards who take on administrative positions are often not too strong, but to be able to enter the Ministry of Magic, each of them has good academic performance.

They belong to the elite among wizards, but they are not up to the standards of top wizards like Snape and McGonagall.

A person's energy is limited; it is impossible to devote oneself to politics and still have too much time to do other things.

Moreover, the magic here is quite idealistic; it is impossible to become stronger by relying on resources and drugs.

"I just think that doing this can make everyone face the problem more calmly," Roger turned his gaze over as soon as the man had that thought.

"And having everyone gathered here can also facilitate more effective communication."

Hearing this, the middle-aged official suddenly raised his head, and then saw Roger's eyes, which seemed to see through everything.

A faint white glow surrounded Roger, and a pressure caused by the difference in life level began to descend.

He continued, "I have no intention of spying on your minds."

"I just want to show you that if I want to, no one can hide secrets from me."

"Distance is also meaningless."

"As long as I want to, even if you escape the Earth, I can find you. Any conspiracies and tricks are uninteresting jokes."

"So, let's abandon those twists and turns and communicate in a more honest way."

Roger placed his hands on the shoulders of the head of the Accidental Magic Reversal Department, meeting his gaze: "I have no intention of participating in any political struggles, and I don't like fighting. Even so, do you still want to be enemies with me?"

Staring into Roger's eyes, the head of the department said, "I also don't want to offend you, the Seer, but you and them are in the same camp. If you achieve great success, then they will inevitably gain great benefits and prestige."

"At that time, our ending may not be too good; we have no choice but to do so."

Since Roger had already spoken so frankly, he didn't hide anything.

These were his true feelings.

The head of the Accidental Magic Reversal Department didn't know before that Roger's strength had reached such an outrageous level.

Now, standing in front of him, he felt weak in the knees.

That was not timidity, but a kind of instinctive reaction of a weak life seeing a strong life.

In his impression, Roger should still be a 'promising little wizard'.

Incorrect information led him to make the wrong decision.

But fortunately, the worst situation had not occurred.

"Since you came here specifically for this matter, and you still want to discuss it with us."

"Then please, Seer, show us a path. We just want to live our lives well."

The other companions in this room were all in fear, just like they feared Voldemort in the past.

Trembling under the wand of a wizard who had the power to control their lives.

But the head of the department didn't; he was even filled with gratitude, grateful that he had spoken directly to Roger before everything was irreversible.

Since there was still room for communication, the head of the department simply handed over the choice to Roger.

He had also heard some of Roger's past experiences. If Roger's personality hadn't changed much in the past year or so, then he shouldn't give himself a 'dead end'.

With Roger here, he estimated that there was no hope for his faction to suppress the Board of Governors.

Now, as long as his faction doesn't 'disappear', that would be a win!
