Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#57 - Astrology
Since Harry had already said that much, Roger didn't try to dissuade him any further.
"Just return it to me when you're done with it." Roger casually tossed the failed second-generation model he was holding over.
Roger was willing to shelter an 11-year-old child, preventing him from facing the bloody reality too early, but if he insisted on going, Roger wouldn't stop him.
Catching the sphere, Harry felt a sense of relief.
Not just because he had gained a huge help, but also because Roger's actions themselves were a statement.
Initially, Harry learned from Roger that Voldemort was not dead and was lurking in Hogwarts.
At the time, Roger told him not to worry about Voldemort, as the headmaster, professors, and he would handle it.
Later, he accidentally learned from Professor Snape about Professor Quirrell's strangeness. Comparing the two pieces of information, he basically confirmed Voldemort's location.
But this raised a question.
That was whether his actions would interfere with the school's plan against Voldemort.
But now, since Roger was willing to give him this thing, it meant that he had been overthinking it.
Holding the Second Brain, Harry thanked Roger. Before leaving, Harry suddenly remembered something and turned back to ask Roger a question that had arisen when he was just using it.
"Roger, in the learning plan function, I understand all the other data on the data panel, but what does the Life Level: [First Threshold] mean?"
"Oh, that's just a wizard level classification method I designed casually," Roger said in a nonchalant tone.
"Currently, wizards generally use O.W.L. (Ordinary Wizarding Level) exams and N.E.W.T. (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test) exams to classify wizards' levels, but this kind of level classification is still applicable to ordinary wizards, but it's meaningless for wizards who start exploring high-end fields."
"And the possibilities brought about by a wizard's mental power make it difficult to summarize with general data classification, so I thought about it and thought that dividing it by 'Life Level' might be appropriate."
"But that doesn't mean anything now, you don't need to care too much about it."
In Roger's eyes, wizards were actually a bit like the chakra ninjas he had seen in his previous life, all of them were fragile glass cannons with high attack and low defense.
A genin with two broken blades and explosive tags could potentially kill a jonin.
The destructive power was completely disproportionate to the resilience of life.
Roger planned to give all wizards a little 'upgrade' after he had the strength to speak loudly within the world.
To make the survival ability of wizards proportional to their magical abilities.
At least, they should be like Gandalf, able to fight Balrogs hand-to-hand, to be considered proper wizards.
This classification system was to be used at that time, it is not suitable now.
.
.
.
There were still a few days before Christmas, and Roger thought this time would pass smoothly.
But unexpectedly, there was still a bit of an accident.
Early in the morning, Hagrid came to Roger.
But not for the magical creature experiment, there was a problem in the Forbidden Forest.
Hagrid's most trusted person had always been Dumbledore.
During the last Horror of Magic incident, Hagrid learned that Roger had a magical token given by Dumbledore, and he now had great power within Hogwarts.
Since Dumbledore trusted Roger so much, Hagrid naturally came to him first when something happened.
Age? That kind of thing had no reference value in front of the 'Seer' and 'Dumbledore's Appointee'... at least that's how it was for Hagrid.
"A unicorn was killed, with bite marks on the body, and the blood was drained?" As soon as Roger heard about this, he didn't even need to investigate to guess who did it.
Besides Voldemort, who only had half a life left, no one else had such a need.
Unicorn blood wasn't that good to drink. Although it had all sorts of magical powers and could prolong life, the consumer would also be cursed.
Of course, Roger didn't blindly believe in the trajectory of fate. He still went to the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid to investigate the scene.
Based on the bite marks, Roger mobilized the dental records of everyone in Hogwarts School and confirmed that the owner of the bite marks was Professor Quirrell, who was possessed by Voldemort.
...Voldemort was very cautious, and in order to weaken the power of the curse, he also found himself a 'filter'.
The time this happened was earlier than Roger remembered, but Roger didn't feel surprised by this.
After all, the current Voldemort was much more active than in the original destiny, and it was normal to consume more.
"I know who did it, you don't need to worry too much about this, Hagrid." Roger stood up after squatting down to examine the unicorn's wound and said to Hagrid, who was beside him.
After speaking, Roger turned his head and looked in another direction: "Why are you all looking at me like that? Do you have any opinions about me?"
Unicorns were a special kind of magical animal. They had some unique meaning to wizards and other non-human intelligent races. The death of a unicorn not only attracted Hagrid's attention, but also the attention of other intelligent beings living in the Forbidden Forest, such as... the centaurs.
When Hagrid went to find Roger, several centaurs were guarding there.
At this moment, the three centaurs, one's eyes were always full of fear when looking at Roger, one was restlessly pawing the ground because of Roger's question, and one looked relatively calm, but Roger could sense from his stiff muscles that he was by no means as calm as he appeared on the surface.
Faced with Roger's inquiry, the centaur who looked relatively calm took a step forward. He had white-gold hair, a human upper body, and the body of a silver-maned horse: "I am Firenze, and I apologize to you on behalf of my companions, powerful Seer. My companions are just frightened and are not disrespectful to you."
"Frightened?" Roger was a little confused. He hadn't done anything, had he?
"The flow of the planets became chaotic the moment you stepped into the Forbidden Forest. Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter... the starlight is transforming in ways we cannot understand."
In this world, non-human intelligent races were not as simple as having different shapes and physiological structures from humans. Vampires, Veela, giants, goblins, merpeople, house elves, they often had their own different magical properties and abilities.
And the centaurs' ability was astrological prophecy.
They were already extremely sensitive to changes in starlight. After centuries of research and summary, they could observe the future trend to a certain extent from the changes in the stars.
Although they could not observe specific future images, as long as they mastered certain information and combined it with trend predictions, they could basically make a rough judgment on what would happen in the future.
But if the information they possessed was incomplete, the direction of their deduction was likely to be biased.
A miss is as good as a mile.
The centaurs had suffered losses in this regard, so the centaurs generally made a vow of 'absolutely not to defy the will of heaven', not to interfere with the flow of fate, but to quietly watch and avoid misfortune as bystanders.
But at this moment, the centaurs suddenly couldn't understand the will of heaven!
This made the centaurs, who had always been guided by the stars, panic.
"Oh? Can you tell me more about it?" Roger suddenly became a little interested.
He seemed to have seen similar phenomena in some books related to divination and prophecy.
