HOW DID I GET MARRIED?

Chapter 6:Joanna

After Nathan left for work, Shola realized how boring it was sitting there doing nothing.

She tried to converse with the maids but all of them acted like she was some sort of monster finding an excuse everytime to avoid her and the only person who was more than happy to talk to her was butler Stan,

but he talked way, way too much. Sometimes she didn't even understand what he was saying because of his accent so she just smiled anytime he said something.

Shola soon went back to the room to look for something to do, she stared at her wedding photo for a while, that smile really looks forced.

Shola found a phone next to the lamp at the bedside, she tried to remember any of her old passwords for anything but all showed incorrect!

So she used her finger print, the phone immediately unlocked, she stared at the wallpaper for awhile,

it was her and Nathan. Her hands were around his shoulders affectionately with a slight smile on her face but this time it looked sincere,

she stared at Nathan's big smile and she also started smiling just staring at the photo.

She wanted to go to her gallery but she remembered her boredom and quickly tapped her contacts.

She scrolled through them all but the only one that piqued her interest was the number she saved as "Best Bestie "

Shola dialed the number not thinking twice and the call was answered before she could even blink.

"Shola you finally called, I heard from Nathan about what happened, are you okay?, how much can you remember?, do you know who I am?, oh no! you've forgotten our friendship right?

hu hu hu, I'm on my way, and I'm going make you remember me again don't worry!"

Shola's words stopped midway as she heard the sound of the other line hanging up.

Shola stared at the screen showing the words 'Call Ended!'

she didn't even let her get a word in, Shola laughed at herself, she wondered where she found this talkative best friend from.

After 20 minutes, a petite maid knocked on Shola's door disrupting her boring thoughts, Shola groaned this boredom was making her lazy,

"come in" she sat up staring at the who acted like she had walked into hell

"Young Madame, miss Joanna has come to visit....." Before the maid could even finish, Joanna already walked in running towards the bed "Oh, you've lost so much weight Shola!"

The maid sighed in relief and quickly left, even though the young madam was acting nicer now everyone was still afraid of her, it could actually be a facade!.

Joanna exclaimed when she found out that Shola couldn't remember anything that had happened for the past nine years

" We have been friends for nine years, does that mean you really don't remember me at all?"

Joanna's eyes were filled with tears threatening to fall, Shola was afraid the girl would start crying like on the phone again, a she quickly thought of something and a sudden realization came to her "You....You were the rich new kid in school right?!"

Joanna was delighted at the fact that she still remembered how they first met

she smiled happily "Yes, yes when you ran after those bullies to save my headphones, that was the first time someone ever stood up for me like that,

the next day I personally cooked for you but, you didn't show up in school that day " Joanna said with a hint of disappointment in her voice.

"Sorry about that"

"its okay really, I promise I will tell you every single thing that happened for the past 9years, you see as your Bestie I'm like your personal human diary"

Shola burst out laughing at the idea of a human diary, this best friend of hers was just too amazing.

her words were always funny which made the atmosphere in the house lively. After dinner, Joanna left with the promise that she would come back the next day to sleep over, the house soon returned to its silent atmosphere once again.

It was 10:00pm at the dot and Shola couldn't fall asleep, she was stared at the ceiling and occasionally checked the windows,

as much as she'd hate to admit it, she really missed Nathan and she was also worried as to why he hadn't come home yet,

she soon got tired of waiting and all of the day's exhaustion finally took its toll as she fell asleep on the couch.

Nathan had a long day at the office today doing work for two, he was trying to make sure that all the work Shola needed to do was done by him.

He didn't want her to stress once her memories came back, he had to juggle the work of the CEO and the manager, after he went through the last report on his desk he sighed exhausted from all the work.

He looked up at the wall clock, it was 11pm, Nathan realized how late it was, he put on his suit and prepared to leave, he was the only one left in the office.

Nathan arrived home after 30 minutes and saw Shola on the couch sleeping,

he stared at her face for a while before he picked her up and took her to the room.

He kept her on the bed gently but she soon opened her eyes "When did come back?"

"A few minutes ago" Nathan said as he covered her with the blanket "go to sleep ok?"

she nodded sleepily but when Nathan turned around to leave she quickly remembered something and held his hand

"Can you...please stay with me tonight?, I'm too scared to sleep alone after last night"

Nathan smiled and nodded his head, he then walked towards the bathroom to take a shower.

Hearing the sound of water rushing, Shola soon fell asleep again.
