How to Be a Dark Hero’s Daughter
Chapter 36.1
It’s been a long time since the three of us had an evening together. But I had a trouble.
Because Collen and Jade secretly read my poetry – the tutor’s homework. How did I know? It was easy.
Suddenly, Jade hired himself a mentor to study poetry.
In addition, Collen periodically gracefully ranted, saying that ‘the talent of a true genius can’t be hidden by any screen’. And from that evening on, our homemade dessert included a must-have chocolate cake.
‘To read that poem, I can’t live.’
Ah, that’s definitely going to be an embarrassing history that will haunt me forever. I felt like dying of embarrassment.
‘When you come back to the room, don’t just fall asleep, go to the living room and get your homework right away…’
I regretted it deeply. But Collen and Jade didn’t even know why I was feeling embarrassed.
Of course, it’s my own fault that I left my homework out there in plain sight. But at least they should apologize for reading without permission, shouldn’t they?
“What is it, Leticia? Did the meal not taste good?”
So, I kept my lips tight throughout the dinner and finally said.
“I hate Dad and Brother.”
The entire mansion was filled with silence.
It was the first time I saw Collen squirming like that since the day I cried and clung onto him.
“Forgive me, honey. I was wrong….”
I perked my ears, wondering if Collen was going to admit his mistake. Surely he wouldn’t blame Zion for this?
“It was Zion. Zion was peeking at it.”
“…Are you really blaming Zion? Zion wouldn’t do such a thing!”
Jade went even further, blaming Collen.
“Honey, forgive him. It’s all Father’s fault.”
Now Jade was blaming Collen as well.
“Thank you for the meal. I’ll go rest first.”
I greeted them with fewer words than usual and ran back to my room.
‘I’ll have to go back when Collen and Jade leave the restaurant.’
It was because Zion might take away the dessert if I left too late. Because tonight was chocolate cake.
‘They read that!’
I quietly went to bed and rolled my feet under the covers. I’m going to die of embarrassment
Then there was a knock on the door.
“Honey.”
It was Collen’s voice.
I went to the door and stopped. And pretending not to know, I turned my back and sat down.
“Today I wanted to say something very important, but I can’t help it if you don’t want to listen.”
“…”
“You would love this news. But what a pity that you don’t want to…”
Knock knock. Collen knocked playfully on the door. I shuddered. What does it mean?
‘Do you mean to go somewhere to play?’
Like a picnic or a circus. I mean, what if it’s really like that? But if I’m stubborn and Collen changes his mind…
Collen is kind of bad. Because he knows how to make his opponent feel bad even when he’s wrong. Before I knew it, I found myself gently gripping the doorknob.
“It’s about your school.”
School?
My eyes went wide.
I heard footsteps leaving. Without realizing it, I ran and opened the door slightly.
Then I met Collen’s red eyes, who was leaning on the wall next to the door. He smiled.
“Here you are.”
So he just pretended to leave.
Hmm, I cleared my throat to hide my embarrassment.
“What are you talking about, dad?”
“Ah, actually, I was going to send you to a private school, but first I’m going to ask your doctor.”
“In the middle of the semester? Now there is no recruitment of students.”
“There is one way. It took some time because admission was not easy.”
“…”
“My daughter is smart enough to instantly learn letters, and if she goes to school, she can learn a lot more. Well, if you don’t like it…”
Before I knew it, I was prickling my ears.
‘What kind of school is it, exactly?’
“Well, it would be fun to go to the aristocratic academy once in a while. You don’t have to go to class every day, just go when you want.”
“What about my tutor at home?”
“We initially had a short contract. Now, the teacher is going to finish the job.”
If it was a school only attended by nobles, it would surely be expensive. I just don’t know if I will like it there. But if I miss this chance now, then it might be too late.
Suddenly I grabbed Collen by the hem of clothes.
“When can I go?”
“It’s up to you to decide. This semester is almost over, you have a couple of months to decide.”
Collen laughed and pinched me. My cheeks swelled.
“Good plan.”
“Really?”
“But if my father doesn’t apologize for reading my poem, I won’t go.”
“I’ve never apologized before.”
Collen slightly frowned.
Oh, did I go too far? My heart dropped.
