When I got home, Collen had just come back from going out.

“Is the festival already over?”

Collen looked at Jade and me alternately.

“The baby saw demons.”

Collen’s movements stopped.

I was still bewildered.

“What?”

“I went to our family’s room in the Mage Tower today and I think they came from there. She saw it and accurately described it’s appearance to me.”

Collen’s expression changed interestingly.

“Demon, huh. Did you succeed?”

“Yes, I signed a contract with one. But that’s not the most important thing right now.”

Contract? Demon?

It was all a story that I didn’t know.

“Hmm…. But Leticia sees the demon.”

I looked at Collen and Jade in confusion.

“Um, Dad. Jade. What are you talking about? What did Jade bring from the Magic Tower?”

It gives me chills when he describes it as something really scary.

“First.”

Collen stood up from his seat.

He lightly tapped the floor with the rod he held in one hand.

“We have to explain about dark magicians. About why our family is called the warlock. Our family can make contract with demons. To be precise, we can summon and demons and make them obey. There are a total of 72 types of demons. The more contracts you can make with the higher-ranking demons, the more capable you are.”

“Then what I saw….”

I explained what I saw.

Collen nodded.

“What you saw is the 55th rank demon. It’s the demon that Jade has been in contact with lately.”

“Oh, I understand now. I saw a snake form when my Sad used magic, and I saw a demon in the form of an animal in the royal family the other day..”

“That’s different. I summoned them intentionally in that form. Seeing a demon in its raw form is not something anyone can do.”

It was somewhat different. The demon next to Jade was dark and scary.

“Normal people can never see that demon.”

“Really?”

Does that mean I’m not a normal person?

“You have a mage in your ancestry. You also have the ‘eyes’ to see them because the blood of mages flows in you.”

Collen pointed his rod at me and leaned toward me.

He flicked his finger. A faint yellow flame-like thing appeared at his fingertips.

“What color do you see here?”

“Yellow.”

“Hmm… Yellow, huh? Yeah, you definitely has some magical power. Shall we take a closer look?”

A glimmer of hope rose in my heart.

“Could I also have the talent of a wizard?”

“Oh, no, that’s not it. Wizards are born only in the direct lineage of wizards. But you might be able to do something similar.”

Jade replied in place of the Dad.

My eyes widened.

‘Something similar? What does that mean?’

Jade looked at Collen and said.

“Why don’t we try matching magic weapons?”

“Matching?”

“Yes, if you have magical power in your body, there’s a chance you could be chosen by magic weapons. Otherwise, I was planning to look for magic weapons that Leticia could match after my awakening. But if you already have the constitution for magic power, that’s even better.”

Collen’s lips curved into a smile.

“That’s a very interesting story.”

“And you can’t keep this child locked up forever. After teaching her how to protect herself, wouldn’t Father feel more at ease? It would also make it easier to give her some freedom.”

My ears perked up.

Jade’s words were exactly what I wanted to hear.

“Alright. Let’s give it a try.”

Collen nodded.
