“Ah…”

As I looked closely, I saw a door of the same color without a handle beyond the wall.

‘Is this like a warehouse or something?’

“If someone disappeared, could it be in here?”

Siebel muttered, and I nodded my head.

Then it happened.

Thud!

There was a really loud noise. I flinched. It came from behind the door.

Then, I heard the two men shouting and arguing loudly.

“It looks like the people on the other side are fighting,” Siebel whispered.

What?

Before I could say anything, Siebel pressed his ear against the wall.

“Among us, there was a traitor. Death is the only option for us.”

“…No way we’re dying like this! Let’s find the traitor and kill him. Even if we have to kill everyone here to reach a conclusion.”

“The traitor who betrayed us, even if they know the secret of the water, they will be sent to hell.”

“We have to retrieve that ‘thing.'”

One voice clearly belonged to a boy who seemed to have just gone through puberty.

‘Is that the voice of that boy Kien?’

It was a very frightening conversation, but as the noise around them grew louder, we couldn’t hear the conversation properly beyond the wall.

I detached myself from the group and gestured for Siebel to fall from the wall.

Let’s go.

I whispered with my mouth. We didn’t know when they would come out of the warehouse.

Siebel and I both silenced our footsteps and went outside.

“We have to call the guards.”

But since the agents took the picture, there were no guards wandering around.

“That was a strange conversation. It felt like we heard a great conversation.”

Siebel nodded his head.

“Sir, I’m in the middle of field work and I can’t leave this hall. If it’s okay with you, could you go out and find the guards…”

That’s when it happened.

Boom!

A tremendous noise echoed from outside.

I ran over, covered my ears, and crouched on the ground. Everyone in the exhibition hall was surprised and came out.

“A bomb has been found outside!”

A voice was heard from outside the door.

‘Uh? What’s this?’

It was like a situation I had seen in action movies in my previous life.

“What’s going on?”

“Oh my god!”

People rushed towards the door, but it slammed shut.

‘That person!’

Even though his mouth was covered with a muffler, I could still tell who it was.

Sand-colored eyes. It was a boy named Kien. Ten guards stood by him as if they were escorting him.

“From now on, no one can leave this hall!”

The boy shouted in a strange accent mixed with the kingdom’s language. But his voice was clear and distinct.

“Nobody move!”

Kien said.

“We are the White Wizards. From now on, you are our hostages. You have to follow my orders until our conditions are met by the kingdom.”

What’s going on?

I didn’t feel any fear. We were surrounded by the guards in an instant.

‘This is a planned hostage drama, isn’t it? And they’re White Wizards? Anyone can tell it’s a lie.’

I remembered the fantasy I had just seen.

But even bigger than the fantasy, the boy Kien and his comrades. Their identities come to mind.

‘A religion… they said? A religion of thief gods, and these people are the thieves? Kien’s comrades in the fantasy…’

Anyway, thieves are criminals. I felt like I was caught up in a criminal’s hostage drama. As I came to my senses, my back began to shake.

“Ahh!”

“Help me!”

Lavigne and the other children screamed and hugged Madame Pauline.

‘What should I do?’

I glanced at the person next to me.

‘Huh? Professor Siebel’s expression…’

I was surprised that Siebel’s expression was colder than I thought. It was a very icy expression.
