Human King

Chapter 158: The Wait!

As the goblins had to wait before knowing if the Lion Tiger would show up or not, they were just near the place where the goblin tribes' were located.

Of course, they weren't exactly resting in the same place where those goblins were resting as they didn't want to alert some unwanted attention.

After all, they didn't know if the mysterious enemies were still here. Even the goblins wouldn't want to attract them.

That was why they were just staying in a not so conspicuous place as they waited for the night.

As they would have to wait for the night to see if the moon would be out or not, they had nothing else to do.

The goblins...just rested. They rested as they fell asleep on the ground, some were resting on top of the branch of a tree.

Some just fell asleep on the grass as if they didn't care about a thing in the world.

Well, they didn't really care. Of course, not all goblins rested as they would need some guards around the place.

20 of the normal goblins that Dawn brought with him were sleeping while the other 30 were working as they kept guard for the place.

The one who was leading the 30 goblins was Didi, who was essentially their boss.

Of course, as Didi was the one leading them, Una was sleeping too.

After all, the 20 goblins who were sleeping now would become guards in the night too.

And those 20 goblins would need something like a leader. And the one who fits in that position was none other than Una.

That was why he was also sleeping right now. Moris was also guarding the place, but he was more focused on the king's safety.

After all, Dawn was also sleeping right now. There's no way he would be able to stay awake through the day and to the night right after a long battle.

The goblins planned to spend the rest of the day just like this. Of course, as the goblins also needed food, some of the goblins who were awake started a hunt.

The hunt was just for food, and it really wasn't that important so they didn't really go all out.

They were only able to get some meat here and there from a monster that Dawn killed before.

After all, it would be a waste of their energy if they would fight another monster just for meat when they literally have an entire year's worth of meat underground.

That was why the goblins were able to get some meat without even fighting.

Of course, most of the meat that they got were reserved for Dawn when he wakes up.

However, there was enough meat for every goblin to eat. Of course, including the ones who were sleeping, too.

And the goblins who replenished their strength and reserves soon got back to work.

That was how the goblins spent their time as they waited for the night to fall.

And it took quite long before Dawn could wake up. After all, Dawn didn't want to wake up when it was not time yet.

The time that Dawn woke up...was when the night was finally taking control of the sky.

The darkness started spreading its wings, and the light of the sun has started to grow dim.

It was in that situation that Dawn opened his eyes as he felt his consciousness return.

---Hmm...

Dawn then tried to look for the moon, but of course, the moon isn't out yet.

After all, the night is just starting.

And when Dawn confirmed that there was no moon yet, Dawn...went back to sleep.

After all, there was no need to wake up when it isn't the time, yet. What's more, Dawn felt the need to rest some more.

Dawn wouldn't risk going into a battle with a battered and tired body.

The Lion Tiger that he was...about to scout was a monster that even Moris was not confident in beating.

There's no way that Dawn would take this hunt jokingly. He would take this hunt seriously, and he would plan things step by step.

He would make sure that the land that he was walking on would be safe.

He would make sure that everything would work out in the end.

And the first thing that he needs to do to achieve that goal is to have a body that is not tired.

Dawn knew that very well, and that was why he went back to sleep.

And while he went back to sleep, some of the goblins started waking up.

After all, most of the goblins didn't do anything. They just dug some ground and chopped down some trunks of a tree.

Of course, while that may be tedious work for some races, it is not for a goblin.

That was why they weren't really that tired, and they just rested because they knew they would need every energy when they started moving.

Of course, one of the goblins who woke up was Una, who was supposed to be the next leader of the goblins who would keep guard for the night.

Well, they might not have to guard if the moon would come out, but as the moon has not given a peek to the ground, it would be best for the goblins to start working.

And as soon as Una woke up, he immediately went to find Didi, who was the leader of the guards.

"It's my turn."

Una just said those words as he looked at Didi. Didi didn't say anything in reply to Una, and he just moved to the place where the goblins used to sleep.

Of course, the goblins who were guarding this place with Didi also went together with him.

The goblins who were fully recharged soon took their positions and places as they started their duty to guard the place.

And the goblins who were awake all night and all day finally started to rest as they slept on the ground.

Of course, while they were doing their own thing, the darkness started to reign over the sky.

However, even though the night has fully taken control of the sky, the moon...is not coming out.

All of the goblins who were awake only stared in the sky as they waited for it to come out.

Even Moris, who was just guarding Dawn, looked at the sky. Of course, even the little goblin.

The little goblin was one of the goblins who were guarding this place now, too.

After all, the little goblin would be more useful in the night rather than in the day.

And the only thing that was on the goblins' minds were definitely about the moon.

Of course, they were also guarding the place, but as this place used to be the home base of the goblin tribes, not many monsters would wander around here.

That was why not many of the goblins were really that cautious about the place.

After all, the only time they would be in danger was the moment the Lion Tiger rests near them.

And so, the night...started to pass without the moon shining on its head.

Of course, Dawn woke up at some point in the night, only to see that the moon has not got out.

---So, this day is a waste, huh.

Dawn thought as soon as he woke up. After all, the wait was a waste.

Although they technically rested their goblins, it was still a waste.

What's more, the goblins weren't sure that the moon would come out tomorrow.

That was why there was a possibility of them wasting another day waiting for the moon.

As Dawn wanted to save time, he started thinking of ways for the goblin to do something else rather than guarding and waiting.

However, he soon started to shake those thoughts out of his head.

After all, Dawn could see the food that was waiting for him.

He could also feel his stomach grumbling as he was getting hungry.

---Now that I think about it, it has indeed been a while since my last meal.

I better eat first. Daw thought as he moved his body towards the place where the meat was located.

Of course, it didn't take long for Dawn to arrive at the meat. He then grabbed one slice of meat and ate it right away!

The meat disappeared so fast, but Dawn didn't care about that as he grabbed another meat.

And...that meat also disappeared. It was the cycle of meat appearing and disappearing.

Of course, the pile of meat was getting smaller and smaller as time goes on.

After all, Dawn was eating so fast that it seems like he has not eaten for a whole year.

And it was in this way that the night has come to pass.

It didn't take long for the sun to rise again, and the light took control of the sky once more.

Of course, the usual exchanging of duties happened as the goblins woke up.
