Husband Doting Wife: Emperor Gu's Shameless Perfect Bride
Chapter 129 - You Take Things With Too Much Levity...
She stood still for some time and slowly turned around only to me with empty space.
What was that? She had only called him today and she began to hear his voice.
"I dont like him." She whispered.
She walked on but had only taken a little step when she heard it again.
"My Devil..."
With sharp eyes she turned around again. Scrutinizing the environment. She was sure it was only her here. Why was she hearing voices?
Could this be Karma for what she had done to the elders tonight?
"No way! I did host a game night. How can they expect to receive things for free?"
She walked forward again, this time more slowly as if waiting for the voice but she heard nothing. Except the vibration of her phone which she had switched back on.
"I can tell its probably Hannah or hubby...I did nothing wrong." She shrugged and checked the messages.
Surprisingly they were from Little Fool. He had sent a message with two voice notes.
'My Devil....I am broke! *crying face emoji*
She clicked on the voice message
"My devil...My devil.." she had almost forgotten that she had her phone on Auto voice note read.
The idiot had sent a Voice Note and she had thought he was actually here.
Since he had angered her, she wasnt nice in her response.
"Dont text me ever again!"
When Little Fool received the text, he wasnt too surprised. He had expected that she would say something mean but not to that extent.
Her reply was curt and sharp. And it had pierced his heart. But he didnt care. He too was like her.
They were both persistent in things they wanted.
So he texted back. "Are you happy with him?"
When Xiao Ai received the message she typed then deleted as she thought for some time.
Was she happy with him? Shouldn't the question be..
Is he happy with her? She still felt like a child who had been pushed into early marriage. She was clumsy and not perfect. And had disregarded the fact that she was already married. She said and did things that weren't expected of a wife.
Even towards her husband she wasnt that serious. She took most things with levity.
Thinking about that reminded her of what the boy she bullied in High School said to her.
That particular day, she had just toyed with his emotions. Driven them both past the turn of sanity. And yet in that moment she had said it was a thing of Adrenalin.
He sucked in some air, wrapped himself tighter with his jacket and stared at her. She felt small and it was probably the first time she felt ashamed, but she didn't show it. She put on that brave girl look.
The I can trample on the world look. But if only he looked at her from a different perspective. If only he thought nothing more of her than a school bully who wouldnt let him be...
If only he did that.. perhaps he would have seen her.
She saw his eyes were filled with trepidation as he slowly aksed. "You are joking right?"
She scoffed something she didnt want to. "Do I ever joke with you. Glasses boy? I mean what more were you expecting? That with your looks and brain...come on dont be silly."
He swallowed hard and she watched his Adam's Appble bob. He was a handsome lad and she knew it. But he hid it behind those thick rimmed glasses. Sometimes she wondered if he could properly see without them.
"Do you.. do you..." his voice shook and she shifted her weight from the left leg to the right, a look of impatience. Impatience that she wanted to quickly escape his presence and go away to wallow in her Karma. "Do you know that you take things with too much levity?"
The response she had given then was unsure. "Do I?" then she walked away. From his sight. Probably from his life.
She stared at little fools message and typed away as she walked. "More than I could ever be."
When little fool saw the message he sucked in cold air and rubbed his hands together.
"Ok." Was the only message he sent before he motioned to his assistant to take his luggage back in.
Perhaps he should wait a bit more. It wasn't time to return home yet. And matters here still needed tending to.
Xiao Ai was still thinking Little Fool was too awfully quiet to have sent such short message. Not throwing a temper or asking her for money. What was he up to. She had just typed a message to Little Guy whom she was still planning to give an earful later on, when Lifen sent her a voice Note.
"Bitch, your professor and mine were supposed to meet today. They want to discuss the transfer patient. Didnt you say we were to avoid this? Where are you? You had better cook up a plan or my spending time with this oldies would go to waste."
What was that? She had only called him today and she began to hear his voice.
