Husband Doting Wife: Emperor Gu's Shameless Perfect Bride

Chapter 237 - The Incense Was For Mr Gu Not Miss Mo...It Isnt Your Wife Who Went Missing...

Seeing his smug look, Lifen got annoyed and moved away from him to sit beside Hannah who was next to Bolin.

The grandmother stared at Gu Bojing with a mysterious look and requested for his palm.

Hesitantly Gu bojing gave her palm to the woman and she felt it for sometime, afterwhich she closed her eyes.

Opening her eyes, she had a sad look on her face.

"Bitterleaf." Was the one word she spoke and Bolin gasped.

Lifen whispered to him across and asked. "What does it mean?"

"I think it means brothers life is meant to be bitter. Oh...poor brother." He was almost weeping as he stared his brother.

Gu Bojing retracted his palm and sat upright. "Xiao Ai has gone missing. And we know for sure she isnt dead. Can you see anything concerning her?"

The shaman chuckled and continued to count her beads. After counting to hundred she glanced at Gu Bojing again and said. "Loyal dog."

All that she was saying, they did not understand a word so Lifen turned to Little shamless rather than stupid Bolin who gave whatever interpretation he felt.

"What is your granny saying?"

Little shameless gave her a sign to keep quiet as her grandmother got on her feet and looked left and right. She went to the table and lit an incense which caused Bolin to gasp again.

Hannah questioned. "Is something wrong?"

"She just lit an incense. Does that not mean...oh. big sister in law."

Hannah shook her head and pushed him away. Where did they see this one with little to no sense? How does he even handle a business? She made a mental note to not do business with the stupid Bolin.

When the grandmother came back to sit, Gu Bojing who had been restless asked her. "Is something wrong? Did you see anything?"

The grandmother glanced at him again and shook her head. "Young man..." she began..." Why do you never care about your life?"

Gu Bojing didnt know how to reply her and so simply kept quiet. He did care about his life but no matter how hard he tries to be selfish, he always ends up putting Xiao Ais interests first. No matter the hurt that evil woman might have done to him. To him...she is and will always be the love of his life.

That is how he loves.

Hearing no response from him, the old lady continued. "The one whon you have come for, what is her name?"

Bplin exasperated, asked her. "If you dont know her name, why then did you light an incense?"

Little shameless gave him a sign to keep quiet before saying in a low voice. "Dont disturb the mountain spirit. The incense was for Mr Gu not Miss Mo."

Gu Bojing only glanced at his palm and smiled. He did not know why but at that moment, Xiao Ais beautiful face that very day she went missing came to his memory. Who would have thought that she would not be with him right now? And the evil woman has always wanted to visit this temple.

"Mo Ai is her name."

The grandmother nodded and closed her eyes to count her beads. She began counting and went on for about a minute then paused in the middle, her facial expression looked like it was struggling and Little shameless took a bell and began to make noises with it. The grandmother continued counting again with struggling expressions as Little shameless bell noises got louder. Soon they both began to shake and Bolin crawled closer to Yusheng.

The cloud was turning darker and it felt as if something had descended among them. Bolin looked around with his hand on his lips to avoid making a noise while Gu Bojing just sat quietly. Even Lifen and Hannah were stylishly moving closer to one another.

By the time the woman continued to count the beads faster, her lips were moving making words or scriptures and her hand began to shake even more. No less than 30 seconds, the bead broke and the woman opened her eyes instantly, head whipping to Lifen.

Little Shameless also stopped the noise she was making with the bells.

"Where is she?" She questioned Lifen.

Lifen gripped Hannahs sleeve and moved closer. "I...I dont know."

The shaman lowered her voice and asked in a coaxing tone. "Where did you take her?"

Lifen shook her head vigorously and looked to Yusheng for help.

The shaman closed her eyes for sometime. When she opened it, she darted forward and gripped Lifen by the arms. "Child, you are the Seer. Where is she?" Lifen was starting to feel dizzy and couldnt fight back. But Yusheng wanted to release her from the shaman so Gu Bojing quickly held him back. His fierce face didnt faze Yusheng in any way.

"She cant do that to Lifen. I trust her. She can do no bad to Xiao Ai." Still Gu Bojing did not release him. This made Yusheng question him. "Do you think Lifen would do Xiao Ai bad?"

Gu Bojing glared at him and whispered. "It isnt your wife who went missing." He then released Yusheng who just sat back down.

Truly it wasn't his wife that went missing and so he cant know what it feels like to miss a lover once and be scared for them. He had felt it at the roof top when Lifen collapsed in his presence. The visions he saw that day, he still kept to himself. Only he knows how much fear he was harbouring right now.

The shaman spoke softly to Lifen again. "Child, close your eyes and feel where your loved one is. Feel it." She encouraged as Lifen began to slowly close her eyes. "Feel it. Now tell us where is she?"

By now, it was obvious Lifen was no longer conscious. "Xiao Ai....she is... " she paused and frowned her face, deep grooves forming between her brows. She extended her hand out and gripped the clothes of the shaman but she did nothing to stop her.

Lifen shook her head and attempted to talk but each time she opened her mouth, nothing came out.

"Let it go." Little shameless encouraged and Lifen shouted.

"Xiao ai...Xiao...NOOOOOO!"
