As usual, after dinner, Sara and I would watch TV and talk about trivial things.

It had become a part of our daily routine.

“Speaking of which, do you have any plans for tomorrow?”

Sara asked me.

“Oh, I’m going to the aikido dojo tomorrow.”

I would visit an aikido teacher I know about two to three times a month.

If I didn’t go regularly, my arms would get dull; therefore, I wouldn’t skip it.

“I want to try it too!” Sara said, coming closer to me.

“Oh, yeah. I think it’s a good idea.”

Aikido was a self-defense technique.

I thought that at least Sara could learn how to do it. Moreover/More than anything, it would be good to have a way to protect yourself in case of emergency.

“You said that it’s a self-defense technique, right?

“Yeah, well, at least I can protect Sara.”

When I said that, I gently patted Sara’s head.

“Hee~~.”

Sara’s face was dyed red.

After a while, I removed my hand from her head, and she looked a little disappointed.

“Anyway, I’ll ask my Master about it.”

I opened the messaging app on my phone and sent a message to my teacher, ‘Can I bring my sister for an experience tomorrow?’

The message was immediately read. He was a rather old man, but he knew how to use a smartphone.

[Of course! Bring your sister with you!]

I got a reply from the master.

“He said it’s okay.”

With that, I showed Sara my phone’s screen..

“Yay! I’m looking forward to it!”

Sara gave a small gut punch and smiled. So cute.

[Thank you.]

When I replied to Master, he sent me back a (thumbs up) emoji, , ‘Guh~!’. (Editor: in this context, it is a thumbs up.)

Really, That area’s high school students were scary good at using SNS.

“We’ll go there in the morning.”

“Okay! What should I wear?”

“You can wear whatever you normally wear.”

They should be able to lend you some clothes.

“You might want to bring something to drink, though.”

“Hai!”

Well, they also sold them at the vending machines in the dojo, so it wouldn’t be a problem.

“I want to leave by 9:00 AM.”

“Understood!”

Sara saluted with her hand.

No matter what she did, I always found her cute.

We both went to bed early.

The next day, I woke up to my alarm at 7:30 a.m.

“It’s morning already. …”

I turned off the alarm and lifted myself up from the futon.

“Yosh, let’s get ready.”

I walked down the stairs to wash my face.

Then, as if following me, Sara also came down the stairs.

“Ohayo Gozaimasu, Nii-San.”

“Hai, Ohayo. Sara, please walk down the stairs.”

I couldn’t help feeling some danger if she came running down the stairs.

“Excuse me.”

Sara came down giggling. That smile seemed to solve all the conflicts in the world.
