Looking the picture of innocence, Lu Xingguang asked, “Give what up?”

“Give it up now. It’s extremely dangerous.”

Pursing his lips and looking slightly unhappy, Lu Xingguang nonetheless extended his arm, and there, in his little palm, was a syringe.

Yan Susu snatched the syringe quickly. Grabbing Lu Xingguang’s hand, her face hardened as she raised the syringe and threatened teasingly, “A child who steals is a bad child and should be pierced in the finger!”

Naturally, the impish Lu Xingguang knew very well that Yan Susu was merely joking, so he played along by pretending to be scared and saying loudly, “Don’t hurt me; I promise not to do it again!”

Stunned by this sudden turn of events, Yan Susu froze and forgot to lower the hand that still held the syringe.

The shout for help had attracted many people. At the mention of human trafficking, they rushed forward to hold Yan Susu down, ready to pack her off to the police station.

“Wait, this is a misunderstanding…” Yan Susu scrambled to explain, but her movement only resulted in the people who were holding her down tightening their grip. The pain made her grimace. In the end, she decided not to resist to avoid further aggravation.

“She is not…” Lu Xingguang panicked and tried to intercede on Yan Susu’s behalf.

The servant interpreted his agitation as fear and hugged him close to her, consoling him gently. “There, there, Young Master. Do not be afraid. It’s all right. It’s all right now.”

The young master had suddenly gone missing. Upon hearing that a human trafficker was on the loose in the hospital, the servant had almost suffered a heart attack.
