I Became A System

Chapter 124 - Returning To Phlabian

It was really surprising. I could see Ellena's expression going uncertain and awkward as she watched the 'Shining Lady' prostrating. What's wrong with this lady here? She just suddenly begged to become… with her…

It's creepy as heck. Well, ignoring that, does this girl have some obsession with strong ones? Well, I kind of guess it, and based on her aura, she's admiring Ellena.

I could just roll my eyes. This is… something unexpected.

"Please… let me…"

Ellena sighed. Looking at this Shining Lady might have made her feel pity.

"Please stand up. It's embarrassing me." Ellena looked at the surroundings, where people were looking at them with some disdain and perplexity.

"Oh… I apologize." The Shining Lady stood up.

Wait a minute. It's making me cringe to call her the Shining Lady. What's her name anyway?

"First, can you tell me what's your name? It's quite bothersome that I remember you as the Shining Lady. For some unknown reason, it's cringe."

Welp! As much as I cringe at Ellena's nicknames, I also hate calling people by other names. It's a little annoying.

"Uhm… I am Rosellete Flower. I am an adventurer, with White Gold Rank."

"I know already about your rank. Thank you for telling me your name. And by what you said, you want to become my disciple?... Servant? ... or slave?" Ellena asked continuously.

"It's hard to explain… and long, so I hope you have time to listen to my story."

And so, Rosellete started telling her story.

She was an adventurer and the pride of her family, who were on the verge of being a noble family. And so, as they heard that a Lumbert was here, wishing to have a duel with the strongest adventurer in town, gave them an idea to exploit it to be known. In this case, they would be known and an opportunity to save their family would emerge.

However, it was just her family's sentiments that wanted to save the noble title in their family's name. For her, it didn't matter a lot. Thus, after being defeated, she realized she wanted to follow Ellena.

As for the reason, I was right, she was inspired by Ellena's prowess. And also, following the strong is a privilege that even though she needed to become shameless, she begged her to follow Ellena. Just how is she ready to be degenerated just to follow Ellena?

I find it unreasonable and stupid. Just how is she ready to be degenerated just to follow Ellena?

I can't be rude to people who have an obsession with following the strong. I guess I kind of understand her since I was obsessed with books and knowledge? No one would understand me if I explained my sentiments.

And as for her, I also found it logical when she started telling her childhood story.

Apparently, she was born with bones made of steel (strong body), and even as a kid, she felt superior and wanted to feel inferior. It's kind of a stupid mindset, but as I said, I can't be rude to her. Well, I already did.

Also, because she was poor, she didn't have a chance to go to the capital of the Territory to study, so she remained here in a backwater town, even though it was also one of the best in the countryside.

Nevertheless, it is still surprising. How can Ellena react to this?

"If you are telling me that, I can't waste your effort. I will accept your request. I'll let you join me, but not as a servant or a slave. I want you to be an equal as a party member."

Party member? Is she thinking of letting Rosellete join her?

I kind of doesn't like it since I still don't trust anyone here. Well, she needed to earn my trust secretly, even though her aura is clear as crystal.

She doesn't impose any threat on Ellena, so I guess… Do I have to give it a try? Ellena is pleading right now.

"Okay. Sure, but you have to tell me first where you learned to throw over your shoulder."

I don't remember teaching her, or someone teaching it to her. Her training in the mansion was pressuring, but not to the point that they'd teach this kind of uncommon style. I mean, judo isn't common in this world.

Even barehand martial arts are uncommon. The only common form was punches and kicks. There was no other form. As this world is like a fantasy with swords, these types of martial arts aren't something used commonly because of abilities.

Well, there might be someone who uses it, but they might also be hiding in the shadows. These types of martial arts can defy the logic of sizing in fights. Even if your opponent is double your size, you can still defeat them with proper martial art.

Forget about it, I need Ellena's answer.

'I don't know actually. It just came into my mind when I was thinking of using other forms that I have been taught. But in actuality, that move wasn't taught to me. It was unexpected.'

I knew it. Ellena was thinking of using the dashed and movement techniques that have been taught to her in the past but unexpectedly moved in a different way.

How should I put this?…

I don't know, maybe an effect of me being a system? My system? But why now? I still can't understand my system.

"Forget about it. It was useful anyway."

And thus, Rosellete really followed Ellena, and on the last day, they left the Azmar.

But before they could, a messenger came. It was a ninja-like person but didn't show any hostile behavior. Even though I know that assassins should not show any hostility, I was still complacent as the aura of the person was calm and composed.

Well, I kind of sense the aura of those people sending towards Ellena. It's just to say that I can sense what they wanted to do with Ellena and what they feel towards Ellena. I know Ellena knew it too, and even if the person turned out to be hostile to her, Ellena could still fight.

It was not being careless, actually. It was just that not everyone in the shadows was supposed to be turning their backs on Ellena. I mean, Ellena isn't that famous yet and hasn't even started entering the underworld. So, I suppose, this person came from the HQ.

"I have brought a message from Director Yskaen." The ninja said before leaving Ellena with a slip of paper.

That person was profound at his job.

And so, Ellena read the contents of the message, and it was a notification that the test was ready for her. She was just the person waited and had to report to the branch in Phlabian.

It was the duel with Verxal.. And as I didn't really know Ellena's true intention, I could just see it for myself.
