I Became A System

Aaron's eyes adjusted to the sudden change of the surrounding. Although the table seems to be unaffected, he concluded that it was spatial magic as they were teleported into a different place. Thinking more about it, he curiously ventures his small body throughout the white room.

It was bright, but not blinding, it was just steady smooth white that seems like a cloud up close to the walls. 

It was wide indeed, however, corners aren't visible, he just flew then he bumps into the wall.

The girls' eyes also shifted, as they got curious of the environment, Diana piquing it to her interest, asked Lushana, her grandmother.

"Grandma, where are we?"

Lushana hearing it just smiled before answering. "We are now at the White Room, a secret room unknown from outside. In this way, no one can eavesdrop on our conversation."

Thinking of it as an anomaly, Aaron jokingly questions it, "Why didn't you just placed us here in the first place." However, being invisible to others is hectic, as Ellena just reacted to his thoughts.

'Aaron.' Ellena furiously vent out.

"Sorry, okay? Easy…"

'This kid is overacting.' He thought.

Going back to the situation, Aaron placed himself back on Ellena's shoulder. Listening to the conversation, he absorbed everything he'll learn from this meeting.

Telling the story, Lushana started it back 5 years ago when Hubert was on the way to an operation against rebels.

She stated how Hubert acts towards it, how they know each other really well. But after coming back, she then realized that everything changed.

At first, Aaron was skeptical about it. But when Lushana started telling about Hubert's inhumane act of being cruel towards humans which he is really not, he thought of it clearly. 

Lushana also included the overflowing dungeon that appeared on the way returning to the city. There, Aaron thought that maybe, it was an act of demons. 

Demons really have vague descriptions and his employer gives him information enough to be safe from demons. 

It is said that demons have 7 different incarnations, and it was called '7 Deadly Sins'. Envy, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, Lust, Greed, and Pride are incarnations of different sins. Aaron, remembering it concluded that it may be possible that Hubert was incarnated with one of the 7 Deadly Sins.

However, it's only speculation, just to be safe, it's best to assume that he is one of those incarnations. And now that he finally has a lead, he thought that there may be other people who experienced this kind of change.

Lushana continued her story. From her using her ability to find exact people to help her take down the impostor. She said that Hubert is already dead, and the people he got to investigate him showed evidence that he was merely an impostor, taking place Hubert's position.

Now that Aaron has heard it, he slowly built a possible path for Ellena. Calculating the possibilities, he speculated that it will be safe to be into the depth of the organization.

"That's why I want him dead. And I trust you guys for that, this is your generation, and only you can save your generation." Lushana finished her story.

Ellena thought about it. If she chooses to make a decision that Aaron doesn't agree with, what will happen to them? She also thought that it may result in their disconnection from each other.

How did she come up with the overthinking? She just decided that she will really join the group since it is an agenda of saving the people around them. Her justice persona already activated that she can't think straight, however, her hesitation is useless, Aaron agrees to it if she just has the courage to ask.

"What should we do?" Diana asked.

Lushana just smiled, "You're still a child, I want you to study, and think of this as a warning for your future."

"But…"

Ellena intervened on Diana's insistence. She thought that it would be best if Diana will be away from danger since she's still a child.

"Diana, I can understand you. I can feel it too, but circumstances are just different. I am at the right age and I have responsibilities towards society. So I hope you do not insist about it anymore." Responsibly, Ellena said it to Diana, making her surrender.

"I understand."

Isabella, being curious what she should do, hesitantly asked about it. "What… can I do to… help?"

"It's the same for you. You're still the same age as Diana right? So I want you to also think of this as a warning for your future."

But Isabella is not thinking of getting for granted the situation. She was just included in the company because of her relationship with Ellena, and she thinks that doing nothing won't make her deserving of being there.

"But… what should I do?..."

"Easy dear. You are one of my grandchildren now, so don't think of anything about not helping us. You are not a servant, you're Ellena's sister right?"

Ellena, sympathizing with Isabella, just made a downed look to her. She also felt that Isabella is anxious about everything, that maybe someday, she'll lose her purpose.

"Isabella, as grandma said, don't think of it seriously, she already adopted you, I can assure you, you don't have to prove yourself," Amber uttered those words to assure Isabella. Seems to be effective, she smiled back to Amber who was just one sit away from her.

"Now this, after that overflowing dungeon, I think he became more of a monster. He is not human anymore, so he must not take my husband's place."

"I haven't seen him for once Grandma. Is he really living in the mansion?" This time, it was Diana who was curious asked. Since Ellena has nothing much to ask, she just stayed silent, absorbing every information she could get.

"Yes, he at least returns once a month and barely can be seen in the mansion. And if you ever encounter him, don't get near to him. He has some odd hobbies of destroying things, you may get hurt on the way." 

For that warning of Lushana, Aaron who was just listening made lips of grinning. He finally understood what happened to Hubert. Since he has a brain now, he finally can think more accurately, different from the calculation of his nature can be. This time, it's personal computation, not possibilities calculation.

'So at first, I thought that it's impossible for him to be an incarnation of one of the 7 Deadly Sins. However, that variable supported my intuition. That strange hobby of destroying things seems to resemble anger or Wrath. I'm still not sure but I have a theory that Hubert is Wrath.'

Different from what he is thinking, Ellena asked Lushana what they must do since she is one of the third-generation that will fight Hubert.

"What should we do then Grandma?"

"I want you to study and enjoy life as you can. That's my wish, and you, my grandchildren, killing Hubert is just a goal for me so that you'll have a brighter future. I hired a tutor so that someone can teach you things you must learn. And after that, I will have you enter an academy, I heard from Amber that you were working at the Adventurers' Guild for money to attend school. I hope I can help you with that."

Ellena's face became brighter after hearing it. "Really?! Thank you very much, Grandma!"

"Anything for my grandchildren. Oh! So adorable!"

It was a sweet scene to be watched. However, Aaron is serious that he can't notice it right now. Thinking more about what he should do, he slightly fell off Ellena's shoulder since he didn't activate his wings.

'That's it! I will study more about how I can have a physical and visible body!'
