Rescue, The Revealed Truth (1)

The Samalta Mountains, which was the deep forest itself, had eventually woken up from its long sleep as a wave of energy fluctuated like crazy all the way through it.

The vast land vibrated immensely before all kinds of beasts began appearing here and there accordingly as they bolted towards one direction.

And there was Kergel—at the very peak of it all.

Nevertheless, even if someone who actually knew Kergel had seen him now, it was obvious that they would still begin to wonder if that was really himself.

Since Kergel’s appearance was entirely different from his usual self.

“Roelin!”

He accelerated even further while calling out to his companion’s name. All the muscles in his limbs swelled as if they were about to burst at any moment. At the same time, veins started popping up all over his neck and body too.

And through Kergel’s lips, sharp fangs then protruded. It had been a figure that was never to be seen by human beings.

He could rather be seen as a beast.

However, whether the fact that Kergel was unaware of the whole condition or simply did not care about it, he only proceeded to run along Roelin’s trail.

The red seal on the left side of his chest was exposed from between the torn clothes and it started to vibrate with a dangerous kind of light.

There had been a huge vibration just a little while ago, so the seal could have been broken as well.

And as such, Kergel intensified the power of the Wolves right down to its limit by just a narrow margin.

However, it was still not enough to find Roelin.

Kergel evoked a little more of his wolfish instincts. It eventually touched the source of the very instinct that was yet asleep at its deepest point.

In order to instigate all the senses that a person couldn’t feel—all the traces beyond.

Of course, the Duke of Bönt already said that he was tracking down the assassins who had kidnapped her. But it didn’t mean that he could just wait for her to be rescued and returned without doing anything at all. It wasn’t even a situation where he could simply relax comfortably.

< You must absolutely get to her before the third seizure occurs, Your Majesty. >

What Lucy had said lingered in his ears once again.

Kergel’s face became distorted at once. The mere fact that Roelin had been kidnapped raised his anger out of control and in the meantime, she was even poisoned, so he felt like his eyes were going to turn upside down at that instant.

How painful she must have felt.

How scary and frightening it must have been.

In consideration to the pain and fear that Roelin must be feeling right now, he felt like he could let go of the last string of reason that he was barely holding on to at that moment.

Kergel clenched his teeth while flashing his even sharper golden eyes. He clutched his lips and repeatedly hid his fangs that kept on growing longer.

And changes began to occur all over his body. The stiff hairs grew on his arms, the back of his hand and even his chest. It was so much that no one could clearly say that he had been a human being anymore.

At the same time, the red seal that was exposed through his fur started cracking faintly too.

“Ughh…”

A moan that was akin to the growl of a beast leaked through Kergel’s mouth. He only managed to suppress his anger by pressing his palm hard on the left side of his chest.

He then came back to his senses once again since he thought that the seal should not be broken at all costs.

However, he did not actually regain his senses just for some grand reasons such as ‘to prevent the destruction of the world’. The actual fact was the idea that he should not be losing his reason while wreaking a catastrophe before saving Roelin had been the only thing that filled up his mind up to that point.

“Huuu…”

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes tightly before opening them slowly. The glistening eyes had subsided a little. Also, the fangs that had already revealed themselves between his lips disappeared as well.

The fur, which had inevitably made him appear as an apparent beast, also vanished without a single trace at all.

Fortunately, he could restrain his strength before he returned to his original form—of Kergel himself. Of course, since he had already unlocked some of his power, there was still a huge wave of energy surrounding him whole.

Nevertheless, even stronger than that energy was his own desperate feelings for Roelin.

‘I’m sure that I’ll definitely save you. So Roelin, wait for just a bit!’

Kergel immediately accelerated with eagerness.

As he sprinted away quickly, even the remaining part of his top was completely torn, which revealed his entire upper body.

And the moon shone over his chest. Thanks to that, the seal on his chest appeared much clearer.

On top of that, even the cracks in the seal seemed to be getting worse.

Granted that Kergel did not realize that important point because he was, in fact, only focused his thoughts solely towards Roelin alone.

* * *

Her whole body felt like it was aflame.

Her throat, lungs and also stomach seemed to have been burned down by the fire and all of them were melting down before disintegrating into ashes.

Ugh.

Nevertheless, Roelin bit down the flesh inside her mouth tightly so that she wouldn’t be losing her mind even amidst the terrible pain. As a result, blood flowed out of her mouth and drenched the front of her clothes in red.

Roelin’s clothes had already been soaked with her own vomited blood several times. It became hard to find its original color, so one could just guess how much blood she had vomited since before.

So, it was no wonder that she had been in the worst shape ever.
