#444 - Chapter 444 You Should Accept Reality
"By the way, how did you guys end up on Pearl Island?" Colonel Weber asked.
"We came to clear out the zombies," Tanae Haruo said lightly.
"Clear out zombies?? Tanae, you're quite the joker. Could it be that you've finished clearing out the zombies in your Eastern Island country?" Weber asked as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world.
"Yes," Tanae Haruo nodded calmly.
"What? Tanae, your joke isn't funny at all!" Weber saw Tanae Haruo's calm reply and felt he might be telling the truth.
"Colonel Weber, this is no joke. Not only the Great Sun Empire itself, but even the Southeast Asian countries have been almost completely cleared by us," Tanae Haruo said very proudly.
Showing off in front of a colonel from the American Federation was incredibly satisfying.
He loved seeing their faces as if they had never seen the world.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! Those are zombies! How could you possibly clear them all out?" Colonel Weber was no longer calm.
"Haha, Colonel Weber, you should accept reality. Just last night, we basically cleared out the zombies on Pearl Island as well," Tanae Haruo added.
Colonel Weber was stunned, and the dozen or so subordinates standing next to him were also stunned.
They had been "fighting wits and courage" with the zombies on this island for a year, and they thought that being able to survive until now was already a remarkable achievement, but compared to these short guys from the Eastern Island country, they were not even in the same league.
"No, no, no, I don't believe it! Why didn't we hear any noise last night?"
"Perhaps you are too far out of the way here."
"No, no, no, at least we should have heard gunshots!"
"Frankly, the guns we use are very quiet."
"Someone, demonstrate for Colonel Weber," Tanae Haruo said, waving to the side.
"Chirp~"
Without saying a word, a soldier fired directly at a sign beside him.
A beam of red light flashed, and a hole about 5 centimeters in size was shot through the sign.
Colonel Weber strode over to the sign and looked at it. It had indeed been pierced, and the area around the hole looked like it had been melted by high temperature.
"Oh, my God! What kind of weapon is this?" Weber walked up to the soldier, wanting to take it and have a look.
The soldier quickly took two steps back, not letting him succeed.
With two armies facing each other, it was best to be careful.
"It's okay, give it to him!" Tanae Haruo ordered.
Only then did the soldier raise his hand and hand the gun to Weber.
Weber picked up the gun and looked at it from left to right, feeling it was large and bulky.
He didn't like this design.
He turned his head and looked around, locking onto a wrecked car in the distance as his target. He raised the gun and aimed.
He pressed the butt of the gun tightly against his chest, adjusted to the feel, and aimed again.
"Chirp~"
A shot was fired, and a hole was also shot in the wrecked car.
"Hmm?"
"There's no recoil at all!"
"Although the design leaves something to be desired, I must say, this gun has its advantages," the officer said, returning the gun.
"Colonel Weber, what is the current situation in the American Federation?" Tanae Haruo changed the subject.
"I don't know. We lost contact with the country half a year ago," Weber shook his head.
"Our mission this time is to go to the American Federation. Do you plan to stay here, or go back with us?"
"What? Tanae, you can't do that. This is the territory of our American Federation; this is an invasion!" Weber shook his head.
"Colonel Weber, this is not a negotiation. We are definitely going, and you can only decide whether or not to follow," Tanae Haruo said seriously.
Weber knew that with just a dozen of them, they couldn't stop it.
"Tanae, can you tell me, what is your mission in coming to the American Federation?"
"Of course. Our plan is to clear out the zombies," Tanae Haruo replied.
"I can't understand why you would come all the way to the American Federation to clear out zombies?" Weber asked.
"Of course, it's for the crystal cores."
"Crystal cores? What are those?"
Although Weber and the others had fought zombies for a year, because they were severely afraid of the virus, they had not conducted any research on the corpses, resulting in them knowing nothing about crystal cores.
"It's something that grows in the zombie's head," Tanae Haruo took out a crystal core and handed it over.
"What's the use of this?" Weber took the crystal core and looked at it, asking.
"Sorry, I don't know either," Tanae shrugged.
"Don't know?" Weber didn't believe it.
"It's true. I only know that this laser gun and this sea patrol ship both need crystal cores to operate. But I'm not sure exactly how it's done," Tanae Haruo replied.
"Okay! So, in other words, it's a strategic resource for you?" Weber said, looking at the crystal core.
"That's right!" Tanae Haruo nodded in agreement.
Weber was silent for a moment, then overjoyed.
"Oh, that's great! Tanae, let's go, let's set off now."
"Weren't you just trying to stop me?" Tanae Haruo asked.
"No, no, no, not only am I not stopping you now, but I also hope you go quickly."
Tanae Haruo smiled slightly.
Weber must have thought that the Great Sun Empire going to the American Federation to clear out zombies was beneficial to both sides.
"Okay, then let's board the ship, we're ready to set off!"
