I have a Synthesizer

#246 - My view of authorship has been greatly impacted today!

(Just to clarify beforehand, I'm not going to drop the book; I'll still be updating 9000 words daily. I'm just feeling very emotional.)

A very skilled author in the game genre has dropped his book.

And he dropped it even though it was doing very well!

His initial subscription was around 2200-2300, with an average subscription of 2500+ and still rising. He was a LV5 author.

However, reading his announcement, I do have some feelings.

First is the setting issue. Actually, my book also has a lot of loopholes. Do I not know it? I do. Can I change it? With over 600,000 words, how can I change the setting?

Regarding settings that make me confused and at a loss, I've also experienced that. The most obvious example is the 'Whimsical Pen'.

Why didn't I use such a novel unique item setting? Why only create some trashy things? Can't I think of anything? No, it's that I can't control it anymore.

Because after writing about the Whimsical Pen, I was very satisfied at first, but after 30 chapters, I started to doubt myself, and after 50 chapters, I started to be afraid, and the more I wrote, the more afraid I became.

After 100 chapters, I decided to kill the Whimsical Pen because, under certain conditions, this thing is a BUG, an irreparable BUG.

The Whimsical Pen has no martial power, cannot amplify magic, but it can represent knowledge, and knowledge = power = BUG. This is a tool that, if taken seriously, could collapse the entire book's framework.

After deciding to kill the Whimsical Pen, I didn't dare to set the synthesized unique items too novel either. It's not because I can't think of anything, but because if a BUG can't be handled, the result would be the same situation as the great author, collapsing the book and the setting.

After synthesizing the Whimsical Pen into the powerful Book of Klein, I felt much more at ease, even though the Book of Klein is also very abnormal.

But in my eyes, it's far less abnormal than the Whimsical Pen, because in my heart, the Book of Klein is probably at the level of a 'high-level miracle, low-level divine miracle', a relatively powerful piece of equipment.

Second is the attitude towards my own work.

First, I write books because I like it, and second, because I can make money, although not much at the moment.

The most important thing is liking it. I can show many of my ideas in the book.

And then I want to write stories that people like.

I've revised nearly 100,000 words in the first 150 chapters. This is mainly because I'm unskilled and my writing is poor.

1. To make the reading experience better for new readers.

2. Also to allow myself to discover the toxic elements in the book. This is true, you won't know it unless you look at it.

Sometimes, when I write it, I don't feel there's any problem at all. But when I look back a few days later, it becomes some kind of garbage.

I've made countless mistakes like this, and even now I still do. You readers are still quite tolerant.

In recent chapters, I can feel that I've made some progress, in that when I look back, there don't seem to be as many places to revise.

4 AM, I've rambled on a lot. The main thing is that I want to write the book well, and I will treat this matter more seriously in the future.

Just do good deeds, don't ask about the future!
