I have a Synthesizer
#324 - Klein's Defense (Part 2)
Adolf asked again:
"Then what happened after you fell unconscious?"
"After I fell unconscious? How would I know what happened after I fell unconscious? You want me to know something even though I was unconscious? Isn't that a bit much?
When I woke up, this place was already dilapidated, and then I saw Lilith beside me. She said that His Majesty brought her in. Not long after, you guys arrived."
After speaking, Klein looked at Lilith, who nodded and said:
"Yes, at that time, Her Majesty came out and told me that Klein was about to die, so she brought me in.
She had already left, but then she rushed back and said some things I didn't understand."
Like Adolf, Marin felt a bad premonition when he heard that the Empress was involved in this matter.
"What did Her Majesty say?"
"She said, 'Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda, so I'll help you one more time.' I understood the first sentence, but I didn't understand the second sentence. What is a seven-story pagoda?'
Lilith's expression was very serious. It must be said that women are indeed more convincing when they lie than men.
Adolf didn't speak, seemingly pondering something.
Marin, on the other hand, looked at Klein with a strange expression. The lie detector hadn't gone off the whole time. Could it be that everything Klein said was true?
"A lie? Now?"
"Yes, say a lie now, quickly!"
"Oh, then I'll say it. I'm an ugly man."
Klein said this with a calm expression. As soon as he finished speaking, the lie detector immediately issued a series of alarms, proving that the magic was working properly.
When Marin saw that the lie detector was effective, his face became even more unsightly. He looked at Adolf on the side. The outcome of this matter could only be decided by Adolf.
Adolf knew that if this matter continued with Klein, it would only be a waste of time. Hoggwartz wouldn't even get compensation. Therefore, he had to seize the loopholes in Klein's words and tie him to this matter.
"Even if you weren't lying, it still doesn't prove that you have nothing to do with the subsequent arcane energy tide. You are still the most suspicious. Therefore, I still have to send you to the Grayshill Security Department."
Esmond was originally very satisfied with Klein's statement, which implicated the Empress and Edward, and ambiguously cleared himself. It wasn't perfect, but it was a very realistic lie.
However, Adolf's behavior of forcibly dragging Klein into the matter at this time made Esmond a little angry.
"Dean Adolf, you were the ones who used the lie detector. I didn't participate in the process at all, nor did I have any contact with Klein.
Now that Klein has clearly stated the course of this matter and that he has nothing to do with it, isn't it a little irregular for you to do this?"
Esmond stared at Adolf, and his aura began to rise. The other side only had an old Adolf. Even surrounded by so many mages, he was confident that he could forcibly take Klein away.
Gwen also sensed that the situation was not right. She clenched her fists, and the phase-shifting battle aura silently began to circulate.
Adolf was completely suppressed by Esmond's aura. He didn't expect that the ordinary arcane professor from two years ago would have such a powerful strength.
Just when Adolf was about to lose his composure, an exceptionally fat woman descended from the sky, landing on the ground with a "bang."
Esmond narrowed his eyes as he looked at the newcomer. Magical Golden Pig - Annabelle, a difficult person to deal with.
"Vice Dean!"
"Lady Annabelle is here."
Adolf breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Annabelle. He was indeed under a lot of pressure facing Esmond alone: "Annabelle, you're here."
Annabelle nodded to Adolf: "Others are bullying Hoggwartz, so I naturally have to come back. I'm late, teacher."
"Not late, just in time." Adolf smiled.
Annabelle looked at Esmond.
"Mr. Esmond seems to have misunderstood something. What basis do we have for talking about rules here? As citizens of Tyrrell, are we neglecting the laws of the Empire?
Just like you said before, magic sometimes has unexpected situations, creating some changes. Sometimes, it's not accurate or reliable enough.
This little guy named Klein only underwent some simple magic detection and didn't undergo normal Security Department interrogation. This is inherently irregular.
Our Hoggwartz suffered such huge losses. How could we make a judgment so easily based on one person's few words? Of course, it must go through careful interrogation and investigation by the Security Department.
Mr. Esmond, if you think your Jere Society is already powerful enough to ignore the laws of the Empire, then go ahead and say it. I will record everything you said today in detail, and then offer this little friend Klein with both hands."
Annabelle seemed fat and bloated, but her aura was indeed very strong, and she didn't flinch at all when facing Esmond.
She spoke very quickly and her mind was very clear. In a few words, she pointed out the crux of the matter and pushed the pressure back to Esmond's side.
Esmond looked at Annabelle and nodded seriously.
"Golden Pig - Annabelle, to reach the Ultra Rank at the age of 31 and become a titled powerhouse is truly extraordinary. Even more outstanding than my most outstanding subordinate, Gwen. Senior Adolf has indeed taught an amazing junior.
As for Miss Annabelle saying that I disregard the laws of the Empire, that's really wronged us. Jere Society certainly wouldn't do that. We have always been law-abiding citizens. Miss Annabelle, don't randomly accuse us."
"Whether I'm accusing you depends on Mr. Esmond's specific actions."
Annabelle moved her massive body and walked to Klein's front.
"You are Klein, right? A very handsome young man. No wonder Senior Marin's lie detection is so accurate."
Klein looked at the woman who looked to be at least 200 kilograms. From Esmond's tone, he already knew how powerful this woman was. In front of such a person, speaking too much would only leave flaws.
"I'm just telling the truth, Miss Annabelle."
Annabelle didn't question Klein's statement.
"Hehe, telling the truth, very good. I will truthfully report the matter of Hoggwartz. We choose to follow the normal legal process and apply to the Imperial Capital's Security Bureau to conduct a detailed review of this matter.
Everything will follow the formal procedures, Mr. Esmond. You don't have any objections to us following the formal procedures, do you? If you have any objections, speak up quickly. I'm recording everything."
What Esmond needed now was a stable time and environment. He still held RS-01 in his hands, and nothing could go wrong, so he could only choose to back down.
"Recording? There's no need for that. Since you want to follow the formal procedures, then go ahead! If your Hoggwartz can afford to delay, then my Jere Society certainly can too.
However, Klein is, after all, my son. I don't want him to suffer any unfair treatment in Grayshill."
"Mr. Esmond, rest assured, we won't harm his beloved son."
Esmond looked at Annabelle, and then at Adolf. He was considering the possibility of forcibly taking Klein away from in front of the two Ultra Ranks.
If he forcibly took action, a fierce battle would be inevitable. This was Hoggwartz's home ground, and there were tens of thousands of mages here inside and out. If he forcibly took Klein away.
Gwen, Lilith, and the others would all be lost here. This was also what he didn't want to see. After thinking it over, Esmond turned his head and said to Gwen:
"You handle Klein's matter here. I'll go back first."
"Yes."
Esmond came to Klein's side again.
"This time, please bear with it. Miss Annabelle has already given me a promise that they won't make things difficult for you. You're all grown up now, and you should learn to handle some things yourself."
"What Father said is true! I should indeed learn to handle things myself. Farewell, Father."
Esmond nodded with a strange look in his eyes, and when he turned to leave, he transmitted his voice to Klein again.
"Drag it out for a while. I'll find a way to get you out, but it may require a lot of money and resources. When the time comes, you'll have to put in some effort yourself."
Klein wasn't controlled by the Thread of Time, so his value was still extremely high. If he could continue to grow safely, his achievements would definitely be no less than the previous Blue King Edward. He couldn't give up.
Klein heard Esmond's voice transmission, but he didn't have any clear reaction, just quietly watching Esmond leave.
After Esmond left, Annabelle patted Klein on the shoulder.
"Mr. Klein, let's go to the Grayshill Security Bureau!"
Klein stopped Lilith and the others, who wanted to resist, with a look in his eyes, and turned to say to Annabelle:
"Okay, Miss Annabelle, but before that, I want to say goodbye to my companions."
