I have an eye of truth

#1 - It was a natural disaster when I first arrived

Looking at the fireballs in the sky, feeling the terrifying atmosphere, and hearing the screams around him, Wang Yang felt as if he were dreaming.

Time went back two hours. Wang Yang, who had just started his vacation, was a little bored. On the first day back in his hometown, he felt a sudden urge to tidy up the house and revisit Daqing Mountain at his doorstep.

This Daqing Mountain wasn't some famous mountain. Perhaps there were countless mountains with this name across the country.

But Wang Yang, who had lived here since he was a child, felt an unusual sense of closeness to this place.

Having not hiked for a long time, Wang Yang felt a little strenuous climbing the mountain again. It seemed he was lacking exercise, Wang Yang thought to himself. There were no steps for tourists in Daqing Mountain, not even a road.

If it weren't for people like them who were familiar with Daqing Mountain and active here year-round, this place would be almost like a primitive forest.

Holding a machete and following the familiar route in his memory, Wang Yang walked forward. Along the way, he also had to pay attention to some trap markers nearby, lest he accidentally step into one.

Although there were no large wild animals in Daqing Mountain, these traps were for catching rabbits and pheasants. It wouldn't cause serious injury, but it would still hurt.

Following the route, Wang Yang advanced step by step. After turning a bend, a wide expanse opened up before him.

"What is this place? When did a city appear in Daqing Mountain?"

Indeed, it was a city. As far as the eye could see, there was a seemingly prosperous city that felt no less developed than a major city.

But his hometown was clearly a poor mountainous area. Where would there be a major city nearby? Also, who would build a city in the mountains? That would consume so many resources, and for what purpose?

"Could it be a mirage? But that's not right." Wang Yang squatted down and touched the ground. He didn't feel anything was amiss.

For a long time, looking at the real scene before him, Wang Yang walked forward step by step, wanting to see what was going on. Along the way, Wang Yang was cautious, constantly paying attention to his surroundings.

He was afraid that his surroundings were a mirage, worried that he would accidentally fall or encounter other dangers. But even so, Wang Yang miraculously arrived at this city. By the time he reached the outside of the city, more than an hour and a half had passed.

"This, this is real." Wang Yang's eyes widened as he touched the houses and walls in front of him. The real touch told him that everything here was real, not an illusion.

"Why have I never heard of such a big thing? No, I have to go back and ask Grandpa."

Wang Yang muttered to himself as he turned around. But as soon as he turned around, Wang Yang was in trouble, because behind him was a vast plain. Roads, houses, everything was there, but the Daqing Mountain he was familiar with had disappeared.

Could he have time-traveled? But what kind of time-travel was this? He had inexplicably arrived in an unfamiliar place.

"Wait, what is that?" Suddenly, Wang Yang felt his body stiffen.

Because a car was approaching from the opposite side. This wasn't the kind of car he remembered, but a maglev car, hovering in the air. "Heh heh, the technology is really advanced now. It has developed so quickly."

Wang Yang was a little unwilling to believe it. Although he had dreamed of traveling to other worlds before, how many people could calmly accept it when they really encountered such a thing? He still had family and friends. He didn't want to time-travel.

It took Wang Yang ten minutes to finally calm down.

"No matter what, let's explore first. Maybe I'm the kind of person who can travel between two worlds. Maybe I can go back if I meet certain conditions." Wang Yang took a deep breath.

Although he still didn't quite believe it in his heart, he had no choice but to act now.

Continuing to stand in this place wouldn't mean anything. Thinking of this, Wang Yang cautiously walked inside.

"Is that a camera? It looks a little strange. What is that thing flying in the air? Has the level of technology here reached such a high level?"

Wang Yang walked while avoiding the people here, because he found that his clothes were somewhat out of place with others.

The people here seemed to be wearing very technological clothes, and they also carried some strange things that Wang Yang didn't recognize at all. Moreover, he didn't dare to communicate with people now, in case he exposed something.

Some of the people who saw Wang Yang on the road pointed at him, but fortunately, there were relatively few such people.

"Perhaps there are people who dress like me too." Wang Yang thought to himself. Along the way, Wang Yang found that not everyone on the road dressed the same. There were even people wearing retro armor.

Relatively speaking, he should be considered normal.

"So, that's what you guys are looking at." After walking several streets, Wang Yang finally realized. The reason those people were pointing at him wasn't because of his clothes, but because of the knife in his hand. That knife was used to cut branches and clear the way when entering Daqing Mountain, and he had been holding it in his hand as a weapon.

Because he was too nervous, Wang Yang didn't realize it at all.

Now that he saw it, Wang Yang felt a little embarrassed. If he were in the original world, if he walked on the street with a machete, it wouldn't be long before the police came to his door to invite him for tea, right?

Embarrassed, Wang Yang quickly put the machete back into his backpack. Now he was normal.

Taking a deep breath, Wang Yang continued to walk inside, observing this special city he had never seen before.

But at this moment, a scream broke the peace of the city.

Along with the scream, the entire ground seemed to be shaking. "Earthquake?" Wang Yang looked terrified, but then he realized that things were worse than an earthquake.

Raising his head, the sky had turned red. Something seemed to have been broken in the air. The entire sky seemed to be a shattered mirror, directly cracking open. Then, a rain of fireballs fell.

This was a meteor shower, right? If you were far away, it would really be a beautiful sight. But feeling the rushing airflow, with its scorching heat, and the shock of the fireballs that landed first in the distance making contact with the ground, Wang Yang was dumbfounded.

"Run! What are you standing there for? Do you want to die?"

Wang Yang, who was in a daze, was staggered by a person passing by, and finally came back to his senses. The person who had just pulled him had already run far away. Wang Yang screamed and turned to run, like a headless fly.

At this moment, Wang Yang panicked. He didn't know where to run. He only knew that he should run, or he would die if he stood still. Wang Yang never knew he could run so fast.
