“Isn’t it?!” The little girl was elated. Her smile was so wide that it was hard to even see her eyes. She then said, “Auntie, I will never lie to you.”

Although the cake wasn’t that delicious, it was the best thing that little girl could ever have offered to her. Who wouldn’t like such a simple-minded, innocent little girl? 

When Song Qingwan looked at how bubbly the girl was acting, she couldn’t stop herself from pinching her chubby cheeks again.

Lu Li insisted that she eat some more but Song Qingwan made up a story, that she overate during dinner and that she felt so stuffed that she couldn’t eat anymore. The little girl lapped it all up.

Despite how small her mouth was, she was able to consume an entire slice of cake with one single bite. Her face, of course, had cream smudged all over it, like a little kitten that had overestimated how large its maw was. 

Song Qingwan smiled as she wiped her mouth. She wasn’t feeling impatient at all.

Lu Li’s mouth was stuffed full of cake. She opened up her bright eyes and asked with a little voice, “Auntie, did you see my daddy? I miss him so much…”

“I’m still looking for him. When I find him, I’ll bring you to him as soon as possible, okay?”

Despite her gentle expression, Song Qingwan’s heart was displeased and unhappy.

Lili was still thinking of that failure of a father!

She had never heard that boy say how much he missed her!

The little girl swallowed the cake, and then nodded enthusiastically, “Yes. Auntie, you’re so nice!”

Once she was gone, Song Qingwan’s gentle face instantly became icy-cold as if a layer of frost had formed on her face. She marched up to her personal assistant and asked coldly, “Where is he?”

The personal assistant stopped before answering, “We couldn’t find him.”

She frowned, “You’re telling me you can’t do such a simple task?”

The personal assistant showed a bitter expression and said, “The only information we got from her about her dad was that he is ‘the most handsome man’ in the world and the ‘best dad in the world’. She didn’t really tell us anything significant which might help us in our search…” 

They started off by asking Lu Li to provide them with a brief description of what her father looked like. However, a child’s vocabulary was limited and her descriptions didn’t really help. The only thing they managed to get out of her was what the personal assistant told Song Qingwan. 

When they asked her what her dad’s name was, the little girl became very defensive and refused to reveal what her dad’s name was. It was as if she was afraid that they would hurt her beloved Daddy.

Song Qingwan went quiet for a bit. “Alright then, look for the list of guests attending tonight. We’ll see what other families have the same surname of ‘Lu’. Once we filter them out, we’ll ask every single one of them whether they have a missing child!”
