Gu Xuan detected strong pride from Gu Shao’s very plain and simple words.

Gu Xuan grumbled but he dared not say that out loud in front of Gu Shao.

“How were things with you in Country D?” asked Gu Shao as the award ceremony hasn’t begun yet.

“What is it for?” asked Gu Shao.

“We don’t know yet but I have a feeling that it had to do with raw materials,” said Gu Xuan in a deep voice.

“Gu Yaobai had contacted a few of the vendors that we worked with a few times,” added Gu Xuan.

The largest business that the Gu had in Country D was raw materials.

It didn’t look like Gu Yaobai just wanted a piece of the pie; it looked more like he wanted to replace the Gu family altogether.

And it was not just Country D, almost everywhere that the Gu family was, there were also traces that Gu Yaobai had been reaching out to those areas.

“Besides, he seemed to have frequented a few Chambers of Commerce recently as well.” Gu Xuan paused and said coldly, with a smile that wasn’t a smile, “He’s up to no good.”

After hearing what Gu Xuan had told him, Gu Shao look deepened but said nothing.

When he looked up, Gu Xuan noticed that the first, second, and three winners of the competition had already walked up onto the podium.

Gu Xuan, too, stopped what he was going to say and focused on the students who were walking up the podium.

– It didn’t take long for Gu Xuan to spot Gu Xi, who had walked up with Gu Chenyi.

Gu Xuan’s eyes beamed, “That is Xixi, right?”

She was pretty than she looked in the photos, thought Gu Xuan.

“No wonder our old man had been looking forward to meeting her. Haha.” They had a family full of boys. How could the old man not be excited when there was finally a girl in the family?

“She does look like Ma,” said Gu Xuan as he rubbed his chin. By “Ma”, he was referring to Gu Xi, Gu Chenyi, and the other’s grandmother.

Gu Shao glanced over at Gu Xuan and spit out four words calmly, “She looks like me.”
