I Marked Her Mine

" You know, Shana, everyone has some secret. Some secrets are bad and, some are good. " wiping her tears with her index finger, Avni continued," Mine was a happy one. "

" She was the best mother I could have. She never pampered me with the wrong things, but she never allowed anyone to make me hurt too. "

"I am happy, Shana. I have two mothers who dote on me. I have two fathers who would do anything for me. I have two brothers who would fight the world for me. "

"It was like that one decision of my mother turned my life into a fairy tale."

"I never once regretted being Vihaan's sister rather than Vansh's. I never regretted being Chaya's daughter rather than Shakti's daughter. I never regretted being Surya's adorable princess rather than Shiv's, for I was always everyone's."

Looking at the sitting lonely Vihaan in the farthest corner, Avni turned her attention toward Shana again and spoke slowly," I understand you needed to keep your past as a secret. Yes, I was angry with you, but, with the passing time, I realized I too had done the same thing."

"I, too, would keep the secret with you if your brother would have hurt me like hell. I, too, would not have wanted to create any distance between you and your brother."

"But like a human being, I was damn angry with you. But not only with you, with Vihaan's too."

"I was too confused between two. I wanted to keep my promise of punishing the one who had hurt you, and yet I could not."

Sighing for a long time, Avni looked at Shana who, was silently listening to her and then again at Vihaan.

And her heartache. She knew her brother well and, she knew he needed Shana.

Not only at the moment, but for the lifetime.

"Shana, I know Mom would be okay. But, what I too know is," looking toward Vihaan, she said," He won't be okay without you."

"My brother loves you."

She spoke immediately to defend herself when she saw Shanaya trying to say something" Yes, I know he had hurt you, badly. You won't be able to forgive him ever for it. But I also know he would never do it again. He might not have loved you back but, now, I can promise you he loves you more than anyone else."

"He won't ever hurt you, Shana."

"He will always love you, I can guarantee it."

"But, he needs you, Shana. Please do not hurt him anymore if you too love him, which I know you do."

"We all know you love him with the same intensity you had loved him years ago."

Shana could only listen. She had no idea Avni would talk to her like it. She found herself to be unprepared and, what she heard next was totally unexpected.

"Shana, if you had ever thought of me as your sister, try to think of your future with Vihaan. Please do not punish yourself, and, him by thinking about your past. You both need to forget your past, to embrace the present and the future."

She kept thinking about how he had no time to shave as his beard was growing.

But, whatever it be, he was still looking handsome, but with sadness in his eyes.

He might have been trying his best to hide it, but Shana knew him better.

After all, she had been once his stalker! But not those stalkers who have a bad intention, but those who are in love.

Withdrawing her gaze for a minute to look at her watch, she noticed it had been past eleven.

Even though it was late in the night, she was still in the hospital.

Mr Rathore had gone back to the Mansion after Vihaan and Vansh had persuaded them to take some sleep. They had not slept for the last twenty-four hours.

Leaving Shana alone with Vihaan, who was still sitting in the farthest corner of the lobby with his head in his hands, Vansh had left them alone, making an excuse of going to buy some food.

Vansh knew they needed some alone time to be close to each other.

Vansh knew his brother well.

Shana wanted to go to him, to roam her hands in his head, to hug him, wanted to say "Everything would be alright", but she was not finding the courage to go to him.

She was too coward to face her real feelings. She was too coward to accept she could not see Vihaan in any pain. She was too coward to acknowledge she wanted to soothe his pain.

But her heart won, and she stood up from her chair.

Vihaan did not lift his head when he heard the approaching footsteps, for he knew who was it.

He had wanted to feel her presence around him since the beginning.

He had wanted to hug her closely, wanted to feel her skin beneath his, wanted to feel her every cell, not for the ŀust, only because he wanted to make sure she had been with him.

Shana did not speak his name, did not tried catching his attention. All she did was sitting beside him on the sofa, with no words.

But, she had to speak, something right?

"She will be alright, don't worry" glancing at the silent sitting Vihaan, Shana spoke silently.

But, her sincerity spoke aloud in it.

Looking at her, finally, Vihaan did not speak. He only kept on looking at her as if conveying either something or everything to her.

At that time, he wanted her to know what he wanted. He wanted her to know what he felt for her. He wanted her to know he was genuine when he asked her to marry him.

"Please be with me." pulling her toward him suddenly with force, Vihaan did not care how desperate he was looking. He only wanted to let his feelings reach where they belonged.

Caught unexpectedly with his hug, Shana did not break the hug. She knew he needed it.

Also, it was not any romantic hug. It was simply a hug a broken person wants from his favourite, special person or, maybe from, someone he loves.

And, Shana was happy about it.

She was happy it was she who he sought in his pain.

Finding his peace while hugging her after such a long time, Vihaan did not stop. He continued," I need you, Shana. Please be with me. I promise I won't ever hurt you. I promise I won't ever betray you. I promise I will love you, only you, my entire life. I promise I won't give you any chance to cry. But, please be with me."

"Please be mine, Shana."

"Be Shanaya Singh Rathore".

"Marry me, Shana."

I don't know guys what's happening... But there seems to be some glitch in as it is not updating my chapters. I had published this chapter on Tuesday and yet it could not.
