When I became speechless, “Look!” and Rifua points.

“When a dragon lies down like that, it’s a sign of having deep respect for a partner. Monsters, dragons in particular, have a high amount of self-pride, and this is something that rarely happens.”

“Ah…… Is that so?”

When I look at the dragon while trying to remember,

“Rar.”

No, that isn’t the appeal. What, you, when did I recognise? ……This must be the fault of the flames from the sword. I guess its flame was even more impressive than the little dragon’s? Oh, the flames from the magic sword is certainly dark enough….. I guess it instinctively understood the respect for fire.

“But what was a young dragon doing here?”

“Red Dragons tend to live in high temperature areas, such as volcanoes. They have a fire attribute, and have the ability to breathe out a stream of that element. So what was it doing in the woods…… Did it get separated from its mother?”

Because the mother had disappeared, this means that this is a lost child, but I’m not completely certain of the situation.

“Is this not a child dragon….?”

“Yes. It’s size is a little underdeveloped, but it’s a proper dragon.”

“Is it able to fly with those wings?”

“If it has the [Flight] skill, then yes.”

So it wasn’t able to fly because it doesn’t have the skill, is that it?

“What do you mean…… We should look after it until we find its mother?”

“Rar.” The dragon moves its wings with a pitter-patter. It’s surprisingly cute when it does that!

I approached the dragon and stroked its muzzle. It narrowed its eyes happily in response. The muzzle was a little rough to touch, but was also cool and pleasant feeling. Observing its once frightening face, it had now changed to something like that of an adorable fox.

“Shall we name it?”

“Sure, but what sort of name should it have?”

Rifua approached it and checked below its belly.

“Well…. You know, I think this is a little girl….”

“Wait, it’s what?”

Of course, I know what it is.

“E, e, e, err that is, that, that…”

Rifua’s face turned red. Somehow I feel better after remembering that she had called me a virgin in heaven.

“That is to say….This is my first time seeing a…. dragon’s, you know….”

Rifua pushed me away and ran back into the house gently crying.
That’s fine. I’ve finally gotten back at her.

“Rar.” the dragon spoke in a curious voice.

“Was that you girl? Name, name, need a name…… Fire dragon, and what it puts out is Heat—?

“Raaar!”

I seem to be on the right track, as she seem to be happy. More or less, she seem to understand what I say.

However, what does a dragon eat, anyway? It’s a dragon, and I can see it being carnivorous.

“Do you know where your mother went? Wait, you can’t reply to me…. Is there some sort of skill to understanding you?” She rubs against my face when I stroke her neck. Mmmm. Is she bonding with me……?

“Yes, Hii-chan is good, but we don’t have anything to feed you right now…..”

But we’re in a forest. There should be fruits and plants we could give her in the meantime.

“Could you guide us through the forest? We don’t have anything here for you right now.”

“Raar.”

As I answered, Hii-chan lowered herself down. “…… you want me to ride on your back?”

“Raaa.”

“Well, pardon me then. –-AAAAAAAAAAAAAA……..”

The comfort of the ride is not comparable to that of a car. But the fact that I’m riding a dragon seems to satisfy a ‘man’s romance’ that’s in my heart.

Thum, thum, Hii-chan began to walk off heavily. But her walk is faster than that of a person. Someday I really want to fly in the sky. My heart begins to swell.

It turns out that the forest wasn’t that large, and we returned in an hour’s time. I managed to find some edible fruit in the forest, which I stored in my item box.

The fruit is called ‘pinego’ which seems to be in great supply on the trees here. It’s actually pretty good. There’s a bit of sweetness similar to a pear, but has a little acidity as well.

I gave one to Hii-chan. “Rar~” she said, and was very pleased with it.

I left Hii-chan to play outside the house, and went in.

“Where have you been?”

“Hii-chan and I went into the forest to gather food.”

“Hii-chan? Oh, that dragon, and hey is that pinego?”

“Mm? Have you tried it?”

I gave one to Rifua, who took a bite out of it.

“Yes! It’s yummy!”

I spent the rest of the day cleaning the house and went to sleep at sunset.

““…………..””

Rifua and I stood in front of the bedroom door. “Th-there’s a sofa in the living room. I’ll go and sleep in there.”

Rifua pinched my hand as I started to turn away. “Y-y-you can sleep at the edge of the bed. It’s really big, so it’ll be fine!”

Is that a problem……? Does ‘good luck’ have anything to do with where I sleep?

Without waiting for my reply, Rifua entered the bedroom and lay on the bed. Properly, I turned around.

“…………”

I mean, this is something of a shock at what’s happening here. I guess it’s okay…. I got into the bed, seeing as we had come to some sort of compromise. But I can’t sleep.

I can hear breathing in her sleep. My heart is starting to race excitedly. And before I knew it, I had fallen asleep and it was now morning all too soon. In the end, nothing involving bad luck happened! I was a fool for worrying over something so stupid!
