LUCKY GACHA EPISODE 8

“Since Jinta has the blessing of a goddess, things are looking better than ever!”

Rifua is smiling joyfully and walking beside me with a bounce to her step.

The goddess at my side who had blessed me had suffered a crushing defeat. However, my win has raised her spirits considerably.

“It looks like our home is located near Lake Elm.”

“Lake Elm huh……? That’s about half a day’s walk away from here.”

“That’s quite a distance, but if we could find a….. car or something of that sort, it might be quicker.”

“This world doesn’t have any automobiles, but are there horses or horse draw carriages as a more common means of transportation?”

Well, I don’t know how to ride a horse…..

“Want to ride in a carriage?” “Sure! We should be able to ride one there!”
We followed Rifua’s directions and found a carriage service with an older driver near the town’s gates.

“How much for a ride to Lake Elm?”

“That’d be 10,000 rin, sonny.”

Well, I don’t want to walk all the way there, but isn’t this a bit much? However, Rifua got into the carriage when I consented.

As the carriage began to move, it shook and rattled. Sometimes the ride is bumpy, and sometimes it isn’t.
“So the roads here aren’t properly maintained here as they are in Japan, huh? Uuuuu….”

“It seems alright for now. Rifua, you’re turning blue, are you feeling okay?”

“I feel like I’m drunk…..”

Hey! It hasn’t even been five minutes since we left!

The carriage suddenly stopped as I was considering Rifua’s physical condition. Taking all of this into account…. Why is this happening?

Looking into the window of the carriage is some sword wielding guy with a mustache. …… so that’s what it is. The driver’s being held up by bandits. He seems to have chased after the horse.

I wonder if this has to do with the information I’d been given at the gatcha shop. That, or the shop leaked the info to get the sword back.

“Hey, get down here!”

And so I replied; “This is really bad….”

I got out of the carriage on my own. Rifua should be okay. I’m feeling a little groggy anyway.

Around me are seven bandits. The driver was on his knees and had his hands behind his head.

“Oi! Are you the one that won the house in the gatcha today?”
Said the man I assumed to be the leader.

“Ah. Pretty amazing, eh?”

“Oh. That gold stone only seems to drop once every couple of years.— I want to know how you did it.”

“Oh, so you want me to hand over the house, or is it some other sort of talk?”

“Talk fast and quickly. I can make a lot of money selling that house. Do you have the key on you?”

The effeminate surface of the leader’s hand starts to move frequently.

Me, give you the keys?

….. I seem to want this house more than Rifua did.

“Big Bro!”

There’s another voice from the carriage. Has someone gone to take Rifua to the bandits?

The goddess’ face appeared. It seems to be really groggy. “Uuuuuu….. Stop it!…….Don’t sway so much!….. gently, please…..”

“How about this woman? She seems to be quite the beauty.”

“We could have a lot of fun with her…..!”

Rifua’s eyes rolled around a little, and then she fell down weakly.

“Stop it…. I don’t feel so good…..”

At that moment, Rifua grabbed onto the leader’s pants.

Sneaky.

Rifua skillfully pantsed the leader.

!?!?!? This girl, she… she… she pantsed me!”

“Stop…………….Iyaaa……”

It was Rifua, you’d better stop. Release your hands from his pants and don’t try to pick them up.

No, but… The leader’s face is red with embarrassment.

“Big Bro, you wear briefs?”

“Don’t judge my choice of underwear!! Crap! Get your hands off me!”

“Your underwear is showing! That’s a terrible service scene! My stomach hurts! You’re wearing white briefs at such an old age, what are you, an elementary school student?”

(TN note: This joke works a lot better with a female character than a male one.)

I held my stomach and rolfcoptered on the ground painfully. Stop– Such an attack is unfair– ooohh. Am I able to stand up?

“Baaaaaaaaaaaaastard! Kill him!”
The pantsed leader finally pulled up his lowered trousers. His face was red with anger and shook plumply. The other thieves got excited at this.

“Big bro hates being laughed at! You baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassstaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrdd!”

I wiped away a tear from the corner of my eye with a finger. I laughed. I haven’t laughed this much in days.

I noticed that they were highly motivated as they drew their swords.

……….

“—Eh? They’re going to fight? With a breeder? Bwahahahahahaha, now this is unreasonable! The look on your faces is just too much!”

“You bastard, I won’t permit this….!!”

Eh–? They’re actually gonna fight?

They don’t have a chance against the current me. So let’s give the [Ashes] skill a test run.

I unsheathed the magic flame sword from my hip.
“[Ashes]!”

When I activated the skill the sword’s blade was wreathed in black flames. As with the other skill, this flame is way too overbearing…….

The thieves’ faces paled. Their nervousness is somewhat absurd.

Not the driver, too!

Rifua’s eyes are still groggy, and her complexion is now yellow!

By the way, I’m terrified as well! I’m in total agreement with everyone else!

This is a terrifying sword…. I can honestly believe that a demon king had used it…….

“Wh-what’s with that flame?”

The breeder’s’ teeth have begun to chatter loudly. The others soiled themselves in succession.

What he said, what is the meaning? …….it’s specific, but I can’t answer.

“I killed a behemoth last night! With this very sword!”

““““—-!?””””

I’d say that everyone was more surprised than Rifua.

The effectiveness of the flames wreathing the blade are totally unexpected. These magical flames could be considered WMDs, the current amount should be efficient for now.

Timidly, I wave it around in jest.

ZAN!!!!!!!

There’s….. a charred crack….. in the ground.

It’s around 30 meters long. (TN Note: Around 98.5 feet for the non-metric crowd)

““““Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!?””””

Everyone was frightened.

I…. almost ran away as well. But I endured it.

Just what is this? Amazing.

……………

“—-Hey hey hey, Bandits. Where’s that bravado from before? Huh?”

It was obvious to see at that moment that I had been overcome by an air of superiority.

“You want my key? Then come and get it!!”

“Hiiii…..”

With that, the thieves backed off and ran away with great haste.

““““We’re sorry aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!””””

That was kind of disappointing—. Oh well.

“Th-thank you. You saved me.”

“No worries. This was all my fault.”

The driver got back into his seat.

I sheathed my sword, and went to check on Rifua. I could see that her complexion had improved. She began to cry when she saw my face.

“Hey hey, what’s the matter?”

“You weren’t…. burned up… in the fire?”

“Don’t you see I’m here to save you?”

“I-I thought that….. you had, abandoned me…. That I was a burden to Jinta…. Sniffle.”

“I don’t think that you encumber me.” But with this information, Rifua thanks me.

“Let’s move more slowly now to avoid the shaking, OK?”

I take her hand to help her stand with a laugh. Rifua wiped her tears away, and leaned towards me for support.

“Thank you, I guess….?”

I decided to restrain myself when holding her hand, so I grasped it lightly.

……The tension. It was just a few hours in the carriage.
