I, the wizard, the foolish Buddha
#97 - This is a great way to get a tattoo!
After a quick wash, Roland headed to the cafeteria.
While looking for a table, Roland saw Helena and decided to sit next to her.
The girl's eyes were red, probably from a bad dream last night, and it looked like she had been crying this morning.
When she saw Roland, the junior sister even inexplicably threw a little tantrum, calling Roland 'bad senior'.
Roland was completely baffled by what she said.
There was only one class in the afternoon, a divination class. Roland found it very beneficial and felt it was worth studying.
Class ended at just past three.
Helena had been pouting at Roland during lunch, but after class in the afternoon, she was cheerful again.
When Roland told her he was going to the library again, she asked him to pick her up from the lab that evening: "Senior Roland, can we go together tonight? Miss Yingtao is on a business trip, but the magic herbs in her lab are about to bloom and bear fruit in the next couple of days. I have to watch over the lab for her today, but I'm a little scared to walk alone at night—I'll treat you to a late-night snack."
Those magic herbs would bloom and bear fruit between 8-9 pm. If they didn't bloom today, they would bloom tomorrow.
So Helena had to keep watch in the lab for the next few days.
The library was relatively close to the lab, but they lived in different directions. However, Helena insisted and begged Roland to walk with her.
Roland agreed.
"It's only a little after three, let's read in the library for a while before going to dinner."
Roland was fascinated by the library's documents. He felt like only two hours had passed when his stomach growled, reminding him to go eat. When he looked up, it was almost ten o'clock.
"Crap, I stood her up!"
Roland quickly packed up his things and went to the lab.
Helena was reading in the lab's休息室, judging from the newly changed bedding on the bed, it seemed like Helena was planning to spend the night here.
She was very happy to see Roland and quickly packed up her things: "Great, Senior Roland, I thought you'd be busy until after twelve again."
Roland breathed a sigh of relief. He thought to himself: 'So, girls don't necessarily get angry just because you're late.'
The magic academy's castle was already large, and there were few people around at night recently, and the night watchmen only patrolled every four hours. So it seemed particularly empty. Both of them could hear distant echoes as they walked.
"These oil paintings are so annoying, sometimes they scare people when they walk by at night," Helena said, pointing to some murals they passed.
The figures in the murals moved and made faces.
At this moment, Roland's ears suddenly twitched, and he looked towards the dim end of the corridor.
Soon, two figures in black robes walked out from ahead, their faces hidden by magic in their hoods. Both of them were low-level apprentices, but their footsteps were very light, indicating they were mid-level magic assassins. Moreover, the magic power on their bodies was very solid, and one of them was about to advance.
Roland's heart skipped a beat. He looked behind him and saw two more people.
Two people as a team, one for close combat and one for ranged assistance, they're veterans!
At this time, Helena also saw these people, and she nervously reached for her bracelet.
As soon as the four appeared, without saying a word, two of them raised their magic wands, and the other two drew their magic daggers and charged straight at them. Their movements were very clean, indicating that they were experienced apprentices who often fought.
Just then, a strange doll suddenly appeared in the corridor. It stood there quietly, its posture very elegant, as if this was its stage!
The four were stunned when they saw the doll, but in the blink of an eye, the doll inexplicably changed its position!
These people's scalps tingled, and they almost fell to the ground. Their eyes went black.
The two people holding magic wands turned around and ran away without saying a word, while the two who were originally charging towards Roland turned and jumped out of the corridor window.
"Quick, run! The Ballet Ghost is out again!" the two who escaped from the window shouted, seemingly indicating that there were more people lying in wait downstairs.
The four came quickly and left even faster. The doll had just made a ballet starting pose, and the people had disappeared.
Roland secretly wiped away a cold sweat and looked at the dancing doll in front of him.
'My magic puppet's attack power is currently 0, but its deterrent power is MAX. My efforts were not in vain.'
It turned out that this magic puppet was the one Roland had made yesterday. He had secretly released it when he sensed something was wrong, intending to attract attention. But he didn't expect the puppet's deterrent power to be so great that it directly scared the group away.
Coming back to his senses, Roland planned to make the puppet invisible, but found a strange creature on top of the puppet's head.
The creature looked like a large octopus or starfish, very large in size, with dense eyes all over its body and tentacles.
It hung upside down from the ceiling, waving its tentacles and staring at the magic puppet.
This creature's mental power was very strong, but it seemed to have no other abilities, only staring at people.
The ghost puppet was not disturbed in any way by its gaze and could move at any time.
"Senior Roland, don't look into its eyes, you'll faint. That's my 'Magic Eye'. Let's go quickly, it can appease the Ballet Ghost!" Helena said, pulling Roland, covered in sweat.
Roland asked in astonishment: "This thing can deal with the Ballet Ghost?"
Helena swallowed and said: "It's appeasement, it's the best audience. After the Ballet Ghost sees it, it will only dance in front of it and won't come to catch us, but it's not a 100% guarantee. My father said that whether the Ballet Ghost moves or not doesn't depend on how many viewers there are, but on what kind of mood it's in today."
As she spoke, Helena saw the magic puppet fly up like a ghost and land next to Roland. Roland put it away into his dimensional bag.
Helena: "???"
Roland confessed: "Remember the Black Magic Cube defense class classroom?"
Helena suddenly remembered: "You stole the puppet from there and made a fake Ballet Ghost?"
"Yes, they look too similar, it would be a waste not to make it into a magic puppet."
Seeing Roland nod, Helena's eyes lit up: "Senior, you're too cunning! It's so useful for scaring people. Can you make one for me too? I want to give my gambling addict brother a surprise!"
Roland thought for a moment, then looked intensely at the Magic Eye on the ceiling: "It's possible, but let's go back to the lab and study it first."
Helena also intended to do so. The dormitory was a bit far from here, and they didn't know if those guys would come back. It would be better to stay in the lab for the night.
Roland pulled Helena towards the lab, thinking to himself: 'My magic puppet is made with necromantic magic, so I can't make the same one for Helena, but it's no problem to steal another one and spend some money to have someone else make a magic puppet for her.'
'I have to find a way to exchange the Magic Eye with Helena. This thing can make Miss Leona (the Ballet Ghost) obediently lie there and let me tattoo her!'
Soon, the two returned to the休息室 in the lab.
After entering the room, Helena sat on the bed, her face inexplicably flushed. She didn't dare to look at Senior Roland.
Roland asked Helena about the Magic Eye, and Helena嗖嗖ran to Instructor Yingtao's office in the lab and brought back a pile of books.
"Miss Yingtao has all kinds of books here, shall we take a look together?"
Roland's eyes lit up, but he hesitated slightly: "Is it okay for me to rummage through your instructor's books?"
Helena looked at Roland speechlessly: "Senior Roland, it's one thing if you don't usually come to work, but you can't forget that Miss Yingtao is your instructor!"
Roland was stunned and felt a little embarrassed.
He was caught by Miss Yingtao in the office yesterday and hooked up with her, but today he forgot that she was his instructor.
However, Yingtao also forgot that he was her student.
It's no wonder the two would forget. Compared to being a mentor, he and Miss Yingtao were more like a transaction and partnership. On the other hand, Roland's relationship with his senior sister was more like that of a mentor and student.
Roland thought to himself: 'Senior sister should be back soon.'
Helena puffed up her cheeks and slapped the documents on the table in front of Roland: "Hmph! You don't even remember your instructor, I'm punishing you to work here with me tonight!"
Roland quickly nodded and seriously began to look through the documents.
Helena looked at Roland's sunny profile, slightly lost in thought.
