I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain

Theodora chose to stay with Stephen's body. When Gideon would ask if she needed space, she nodded. Respecting her decision, Gideon left the room. He wished he could have called Stephen "Dad" sooner. If he knew that he'd leave so soon...

"Hic..." Gideon sobbed.

This feeling, he hasn't felt this in a long while. This was the same feeling when he found out his real father died. Back then he couldn't cry in front of Alice and their mother only mourned in silence. But that silence took over her mind.

A domino effect that started because of one death.

Till now Gideon carried those pains of his old life. Even in this new one, it still haunts him and reminds him of his past. Back then he was powerless because he was only human.

'But why couldn't I save him?'

He hated himself for not being able to use his Angel lineage. Was he even an Angel to begin with? Just what the hell is Gideon Lemery? Why couldn't he help Stephen the same Kaiden helped them?

This just goes to show that there was still a difference in power.

'An unnamed Angel and an unnamed succubus... What kind of sick joke is this author?'

An existence that gives an unfavorable impression from society despite its prince being the same kind. But also a useless thing if Gideon can't even heal others.

"It's been a while Gideon" a familiar voice spoke up and upon looking up it was Amias and Azazel.

Wiping away his tears, he took a deep breath and greeted the two.

"Good Evening my lords"

"You just unlocked a portion of your full potential and you're already flattering me" Amias teases him but Gideon knew that these two saw him crying.

Azazel was the more rational one between the two and lowered his head.

"I'm sorry for your loss"

Angels and Demons can sense when a life passed away nearby. But it's more sensitive towards Demons since they would use their souls to replenish or increase their powers. While Angels make sure they pass safely onto the reincarnation cycle. Gideon only hoped that Stephen could pass.

The reason was that Demons weren't allowed to reincarnate.

No one knew why nor did the ones in charge of guiding the souls could explain. It may perhaps be a sick decision made by their old leader, El. Who knows? But no one knows if the part-demons would be subjected to this punishment.

'I hope not'

"Thank you... What are you two doing here? I thought all of the nobles were busy? At least, that's what Kaiden told me"

"Oh, we are. We're just visiting an old friend" Amias replies with a smile and Azazel nods.

"Perhaps El is still looking out for us but Yohann, Kassandra's brother, returned"

"I see" At least something good came out of this incident. Maybe that's why Amias looks better than usual.

"Do you want to meet him? Kassandra is with him right now"

"Amias, did you forget that he's not allowed to meet outsiders?" especially earlier when Kaiden brought in Kassandra...

When Kassandra collapsed with a high fever, she refused to go anywhere else. She demanded to go to her brother's room instead. Kaiden, who was still a little indebted towards Kassandra for helping Gideon, followed her request.

Amias and Azazel were still in there talking to Yohann. It seems like Amias' mood improved a little when he was reminiscing about the happy past with his old friend. Kaiden knocked on the door before opening it.

"What happened to Kassandra?!" Azazel suddenly stood up from his seat. Amias was surprised since Kassandra looked fine earlier when they met so how come she looks so sickly?

"She overused her powers. She needs to rest but she insisted on going here instead" Kaiden explains and he looks up in Yohann's direction.

Yohann's expression wasn't any better than the two. In fact, he looks like he saw a ghost and he started to shake. Amias noticed this and suddenly held Yohann.

"Yohann, what's wrong?" Amias was greatly concerned but Yohann covered his mouth with his hands. He shook his head and stared at Kaiden with fear in his eyes.

Kaiden heard that the monster whose tongue he cut off turned out to be Yohann. And due to trauma, he's having lapses in his memories. But he'd still remember a few things here and there.

"He remembers me from the ball" Kaiden answers as he placed down Kassandra on the couch available in the room they were in.

"Even if I explain it, he's still scared of me" It's funny because he's been told that he looks like his father so there was a small chance of Yohann not being terrified of him. But maybe it's still the energy he gives off that made it recognizable to Yohann.

"I'll take my leave immediately but I just want to thank the two siblings for their contribution to this kingdom. And although I have never met Yohann before, please know I won't cut off tongues for no reason and I apologize for doing so" Kaiden said those words before leaving. When Kaiden left, only then did Yohann calm down.

"Couldn't he be more careful with his words?" Azazel sighed in frustration and watched Amias help Yohann calm down. 

"As he said, you have never met him. But he's the son of Luciel and Gabby. He's an honest man and the person who helped you return back to this form. We were panicking during that event and we didn't know back then how to deal with those... things. So it was really by chance that he saved you" Azazel continued to explain to Yohann. It will take a while for Yohann to get used to other people, most especially the prince.

If Luciel knew of this, he would probably be upset to know that one of his comrades is afraid of his own son.

Back to the present, that was the reason why Azazel was concerned to have Gideon meet with Yohann. Nobody knows which memories he remembers.

"Was he the man in the room a few doors down from mine?" Gideon asks and Amias nods.

"Yeah, that's him. Did you already see him at one point?" Well, they did know that Gideon snuck out at night.

"He smiled and waved at me one time when he caught me looking in the door window. I didn't notice it was Lady Kassandra sleeping there because it was dim"

"Oh, well then that's good to hear!" Amias beamed. In his mind, Gideon would be a good person to introduce to Yohann despite being a prime suspect in the incident. When Kaiden explained what Gideon had to do, it made Amias sure that he wasn't involved. Meaning to say, he's willing to take the same risks as Kaiden did since he cares about him.

"Amias, Yohann is just really a social person but it doesn't mean that he'll be fine with strangers"

"Before Kaiden went in, there were nurses that knocked but Yohann did not show any interest."

That was true, and Kassandra already told him that Yohann would immediately feel uncomfortable if the person continued to walk closer to him. Would he take the risk as well? But never mind that! Is it really fine for Gideon to socialize when his adoptive father just passed?

"I think we should do that at another time. I can't leave my mom alone for too long. I'm just letting her come into terms with this situation" He smiles sadly and waves his hand as a gesture of refusal.

"Aw... alright but I also offer my condolences to you and Theodora. I'll help with Arda's work so if you need help or someone to talk to, just visit her office to look for me" Amias also bowed his head slightly to respect the dead.

"Thank you as well Amias"

The two nobles left after speaking a few more words to Gideon about the situation in the Castle. They also recommended that Gideon should stay clear of other staff members here. "You're still under suspicion but you managed to escape temporary imprisonment thanks to the fact you're a patient and a guest" they said.

Yeah, he should definitely keep this in mind.

Gideon went back into the room and saw that Theodora had pulled up the blanket to cover Stephen's face.

"It'll be hard to accept it but I think I'll be fine. We also moved houses so I guess that'll also help since I haven't been in that house for too long" she speaks out softly and looks at Gideon.

"Will you also be calling me mother soon?" She smiles sadly as if she's trying to make fun of the fact that Gideon did call Stephen "Dad".

"Only if you want me to but you do feel like a mom to me" Gideon explains as he walks up to Theodora and hugs her.

"Theodora, Aunty, Mom, or whatever. You can choose, as long as you're willing to be with me then it's fine" She wrapped her arms around him as well and patted his back gently.

"Why are you implying that I would leave you? and besides... Dad... said that he would still be looking out for us"

"Yes, you're right that's why we're both proud of having a son like you"
