And not only that but it is not guaranteed that everyone will treat you nicely even if you did choose a side. Take the original Gideon Lemery for an example. That is how the original Kaiden used this to his advantage to take revenge for the suffering he had gone through before it was revealed that he was a prince.

Gideon suddenly stopped on one channel where they had been discussing the incident during the winter ball. They explained the incident but you could tell that they left out a lot of information. It was either they didn't know or they chose to omit it.

"Even the first woman who caught the prince's eyes met a tragic fate during this incident" the news anchor wept and the other one next to her patted her shoulder.

"what?" Kaiden looked up at the tv.

The images of all of the people that passed away showed. It was indeed Aleia, one of the female protagonists. Gideon felt guilty because not only did he take away the supposed "bed scene" of the protagonist but it might have led to her death as well. Would that mean, if Kaiden had not saved him then their positions would be switched up?

"There were so many casualties... I didn't expect her to be on that list as well" Gideon blurted out and he noticed that Stephen's image was shown briefly. He sighed sadly remembering him.

"Do you know her?" Kaiden asks him since he noticed that Gideon suddenly felt down.

"No, but I just feel like it's a shame since you did like her"

"Who said I liked her?"

"What?"

Kaiden didn't like Aleia? But that was the female protagonist? He even asked her for a dance so how could he not like her?

"But you danced with her?" Gideon repeated what he thought and Kaiden had a confused expression.

"Just because I danced with her, does not mean I like her. I just needed to keep up my image since it was the winter ball... Why does it matter to you if I like her?" Kaiden moved closer to Gideon and Gideon slowly backed up in his seat until he had no space to retreat from.

"You're close" Gideon says

"were you upset because you thought I liked her?"

"I'm not! I was just exploring the what-ifs. Why are you upset about this?" Gideon suddenly turned the questioning to Kaiden.

"You really... never mind. It seems like you're also fine today, I'll see if I can visit in another day" Kaiden gathered his things and stormed out of the place.

"What's with him? is he on his period or something" Gideon comments when Kaiden had left.

That night, Gideon suddenly woke up in pain. He once again felt the cold floor and could not see anything. Was he having the same nightmares again? Well, now he can expect that the original version of Kaiden would appear in front of him to berate him.

But there was a difference this time in this dream. This time his lower body hurts like hell and he could barely move.

"Oh, you're still conscious after all that?" Kaiden suddenly spoke out in the darkness. And with a snap, a few lights opened but it was still dim.

There was another difference now, Kaiden was not outside the prison cell. But he was also in it while squatting down to observe Gideon.

"Don't expect that I'll do this constantly since I still want to kill you" Kaiden clarifies and used his left hand to touch Gideon.
