I Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Villain

It's been some time since Yohann and Gideon were busy talking to one another about the past. Yohann would explain how he and his sister had so many magical creatures at their disposal. And Gideon would be intrigued because those were only folktales back in his old life but of course, he did not say anything about that.

Meanwhile Kaiden...

He was just left to the side to drink the tea that was prepared for them. He couldn't even taste the pastries because Yohann had already gone through them. Only the butler noticed his presence and would refill his cup with more tea.

Yohann finally noticed the prince again and he wasn't shaking as much anymore. He only motioned for Kaiden and wrote a note on a spare paper:

"I'm sorry for not accommodating the prince"

"Oh no, it's quite fine. I understand since I did visit on a whim. Just continue talking"

But Yohann felt that there was something wrong. Especially when Gideon who came with Kaiden was downright ignoring the prince now. Gideon had been reading through his rough explanation and drawings of their pets as if Kaiden didn't speak.

"G-G" Yohann's voice was shaking a little bit as he tried to call out to Gideon. Gideon heard this and looks up and sees Yohann's struggling expression.

"Yohann? Don't force yourself, what is it?" Gideon placed down the notes and placed all of his concern in Yohann's state.

Yohann shook his head and tries to speak.

"Gideon.... prince..... not... ok?" The demon noble really wanted to voice it out instead of writing it. This was the most he spoke out in a day and it was a little tiring for him.

"Me and Kaiden?" Upon asking that, Yohann nodded a lot. He looked at the two intensively and Kaiden opened his mouth a little bit before explaining.

"Don't worry about it too much Yohann, we're ok" He says with a smile before taking a sip of his tea.

Yohann looks at Gideon's expression and it was pretty easy to read him since he wore his thoughts on his face. Gideon was not ok with Kaiden about something. A thought dawned upon Yohann and his eyes widened.

'Gideon likes the prince! He probably got jealous because Kaiden was being considerate for me'

Yohann had hit the nail on its head. Not even Kaiden or the butler was able to pinpoint what it was. He gave a sad smile to Gideon. The prince will definitely have a lot of encounters that are far worse than what he just did. He wanted to speak out more but it seems like he can't force it out anymore. Maybe later?

So instead he wrote a note:

"Shall we all go out? I haven't visited the city ever since I have returned"

When they read it, the first one to react was the butler.

"Absolutely not! The Lady ordered us to keep you safe and I-" He was cut off by Kaiden's hand being raised.

"If the Lord wishes to go out then we shall. But of course, I will contact my father regarding the matter and we all know he often agrees to whatever I wish" Kaiden confidently states out loud that the butler couldn't help but frown. Yohann was in awe of how confident Kaiden was but Gideon here felt all the more jealous towards Kaiden's actions.

'Calm down Gideon... he's just being considerate' He thought to himself.

"I... I see. Then I shall leave the lord's safety to you, Prince Kaiden. But I am still required to report this to Lady Kassandra"

"You may. Let's all get ready to leave" Kaiden stood up and offered a hand to Gideon. 

Gideon looked at it for a while before sighing and taking it. In the end, he was still weak to Kaiden acting nice to him. Especially when he remembers that Kaiden only acts genuinely nice towards him. When Yohann saw the situation he felt like he had done the right choice of suggesting a mini outing.

'May this day be fruitful!'

They all arrived at the city where Gideon and Kaiden often went around. Yohann still brought his small notepad and a pen but he also brought a phone. The Butler from their home insisted on him bringing it and dialing him just in case he accidentally strays away from the two. But a key factor that the butler forgot was that Yohann did not know how these kinds of phones work. The last time he owned one was a flip phone since he didn't have the need for fancy phones, unlike the others. He just believed that it's only important to send and receive messages. And maybe sometimes make a phone call.

The teaching was now left to Gideon since Yohann suddenly ignored Kaiden when he was about to offer him how to use the device.

"You just tap on this app and tap the plus button, that way you'll have a new note. And when you tap the blank page, the keyboard will automatically pop up like so" The two was sitting in the back of Kaiden's car and Kaiden was sitting in the driver's seat, waiting for them to finish.

Yohann was intrigued by the device. So not much changed from the old phones except for the setup and the addition of other things.

"I think that should sum it up. You can ask someone else to teach you for the rest but what I taught you should cover most of the basics"

Yep! The only important thing here was that Yohann should be able to text and call them when needed. Yohann nodded and typed something onto his new phone.

With a smile, he showed a "Thank you :)" to Gideon.

'He even added an emoji...'

"Ok let's go! Is there anywhere that you wanted to check out, Yohann?" Gideon asks Yohann and he thought about it for a few seconds before typing that he wanted to check if the food stalls that he visited were still there.

"O-oh... of course, let's do that!" Gideon was surprised since they had already eaten prior to leaving and yet Yohann still wants to eat. Amias wasn't kidding when Yohann had quite the appetite despite his thin structure.

The three exited the vehicle and two of them had terrible disguises. One wore a face mask only since he should be able to blend in given nobody had seen him for more than a decade. While the other had to wear a cap and face mask because he was too striking.

"Can't you cast a spell on yourself like before?"

"Only Amias could do those kinds of spells unless you know? You're half-demon yourself and you can make illusions as well"

Right... that was the specialty of his demon lineage but Gideon didn't know how to make it project to others only and not to them. That spell was too advanced for someone with his skills.

"If I did that then I might get tricked by myself and I'm not confident I'll be able to have it up for the entire time that we're here" Gideon scratched his cheek and awkwardly looked away. He really should practice his powers and be more confident in himself from time to time.

Kaiden lets out a "pfft" sound before rolling his eyes and fixing his cap to hide his blond hair. Despite having other blonds in the world, Luciel's and Kaiden's hair was quite unique. They gave off a gold shimmer that was worthy of their surname "Lux Ferre" meaning Light Bringer.

The three went around and most of the stalls that Yohann looked forward was gone. Turns out that the sudden disappearance of the Demon Noble who was their regular had quite the effect on the public. The reason why they found out about this is that there were a few stalls that were still doing well.

"Aiyah... When Lord Yohann stopped visiting. Everyone got concerned and even went to the capital to ask about his whereabouts. But the King and his sister made the announcement that Lord Yohann was no longer allowed to go out. Some believed that he had perished because the last time we saw him he said that he was going to be busy protecting our kingdom" The lady was wrapping up the candies that they had ordered.

"What about you?" Kaiden was the one inquiring about the disappearance of the stalls but it was Gideon who asked this question.

"Well, I believe that the Lord may have gotten injured in some way which is why he was no longer allowed to go out as he pleases. That's easier to believe than the rumors of him being deceased"

"You have a point" Kaiden finally spoke before sparing a glance at Yohann who had been quietly listening to the lady he used to talk to a lot.

For him, he was amazed to see that this lady changed a lot. She was in her 40s back when he would visit her but now she has a lot of white hair.

"That young man behind you two..." The lady started to speak and Yohann was a little surprised.

'Did she recognize me?'

"You remind me of Lord Yohann a lot. What's your name?"

Yohann couldn't respond and he touched his throat. It was Gideon who joined their conversation and answered for him.

"He's a friend of ours but he can't speak"

"I see... My mistake haha. Lord Yohann was quite an outspoken child but it seems like I just really miss him. I added another candy, it's on the house"

The three gave their thanks as they left but to Kaiden and Gideon's surprise, they heard soft whimpers from Yohann.. After being brainwashed into nobody loving him, he just felt overwhelmed by the love that he is receiving now.
