I Was Forced To Marry The Enemy

I held my breath as I waited for Ben to answer Dante's question.

"Oh right, you wouldn't know." Ben said suddenly grinning. "Of course you wouldn't know, we haven't officially announced it as yet."

Dante tensed at his words, in fact this was the first time I'd ever seen him look so uptight.

"What the fuċk are you trying to say?"

"Kyomi's parents along with my father has already discussed our marriage." Ben announced proudly. "Yes Dante, you heard me right, very soon Kyomi Palmer is going to be my wife."

A very uncomfortable silence followed right after, no one moving as Dante gave Ben one of the deadliest looks I'd ever seen in my life before, even Ben flinched a bit.

Was Dante actually angry that I could possibly be married to Ben? For some reason that thought gave me buŧŧerflies in my stomach.

"I ȧssume Dominic has no idea of the activities you've been up to in the past and most likely still doing them in the present." Dante said.

What was he talking about? Whatever he'd said seemed to bother Ben a lot, for his face was suddenly drained of color. For the first time since their encounter today Ben remained completely silent with absolutely nothing to say. What was I missing here? It seemed like Ben was afraid that Dante would say something that he didn't want me to know.

"Anyway, I wouldn't be so quick to announce any alliance between you and Kyomi." Dante threatened.

"What are you talking about?" Ben finally asked, suddenly finding his voice once again.

Now it was Dante's turn to smile. "You'll see soon enough." He answered as he scooted up from the chair and leaned in closer to me until his mouth was directly above my ear. "We'll be in touch soon sweetheart, after all I must finish what I've started."

I felt my body shiver at his words, his close proximity making it difficult to breathe. Without another word Dante straightened and walked straight out the restaurant leaving me alone with Ben whom at the moment was looking at me in a very weird way.

"Why does it seem like you and Dante have history?" He asked suspiciously.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "I have a question of my own for you, what was Dante talking about when he spoke about the activities that you've been up to?"

Ben's face got red. "I think Dante spoiled our first date, let me take you back home and we shall continue this discussion another time."

So he was hiding something from me, from my dad. Something that Dante knew about.

What could it be?
