I hadn't expected the secret to be out so soon. I didn't even tell all of this to Emily. Where had she gotten this information from?

And if she had already known about it then the whole school will surely know by the end of the week. I had to fix this mess before it got out of hand. I didn't want to embarrass Kyomi.

It was never my intention to do that. All I was planning on doing was simply avoiding her.

"IS IT TRUE DANTE?" Kyomi asked again, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.

I felt my heart squeeze in agony at the look on her face. I knew this day would come but I never expected it to be this soon. I wasn't prepared for the hurt and look of betrayal on her face.

She seemed to be more hurt than angry.

I took a deep breath, knowing that I couldn't keep this from her any longer. If I told her it were a lie now I wouldn't have any proof to back me up.

"Yes Kyomi but—."

She didn't wait for me to finish, instead she started to walk off in the opposite direction.

"Kyomi!" I called, shrugging off Emily's hold on me as I ran after her.

I grabbed onto her arm, trying to stop her. Totally surprising me she spun around with an angry glare. "Get your hands off me." She threatened. "I don't want you to touch me ever again."

I slowly let go of my grip on her but still tried again.

"Can we please just talk about this?"

"There is nothing left to talk about Dante." She snapped. "Go back to your little girl toy, she's pouting over there waiting for you. She's the one you chose to spend your time with, all this time I was left wondering why you were suddenly showing no interest in me, when you were the one who first initiated our first conversation. All this time the answer was right there in front of me, you'd never had any interest in me from the start." She hissed. "Go back to her, that's the kind of women you like, not me. I always wondered why you showed interest in someone like me when I'm nothing like your type. Well guess what Dante, I finally have my answer. And you know what, I'll eventually make peace with it. But what about you . . . Can you live with yourself after knowing you completely destroyed my life? When all my feelings were completely genuine for you? I hope you can live with that."

I couldn't respond. Was left without any words.

Could just watch as Kyomi walked off without another word.
