My First Time in a Different World 7

“I-I did it…! Lara-san, I did it!”

“You can do it if you try──Anyway, get away from me, I’m getting hot here.”

“Hehe.”

I was so happy that the magic worked and I hugged her, then she let out a sigh. But she didn’t push me away, and I felt happy again.

──Half a month had passed since Lara taught me magic. She had taken good care of me since then and had ended up teaching me magic almost every day.

“Lara seems to enjoy teaching magic to Nina. She likes how fast you absorb the lessons.”

“I-I’m so happy… Ugh, I’m going to cry a little.”

“I’m also glad that Nina’s hard work is paying off.”

Lara’s tone and attitude were still a little blunt, but after secretly hearing that story from Owen, I didn’t care at all.

The black magic that Lara specialized in was the exact opposite of the holy magic used by the saintess, so it was a good learning experience. I was able to defeat demons that weren’t affected by holy magic, and my stats were steadily improving.

At the same time, I continued to practice with Dirk, but now that my efficiency had improved, I could raise my level without difficulty.

Most of all, I couldn’t help but enjoy using magic now. I really couldn’t thank everyone enough.

“I’d like to give something back to everyone, but I wonder if I can make something unique as a Saintess.”

“Oh. Then I have something good for you.”

“Eh, you do? As expected of Owen-sama…!”

And Owen, who had a deeper knowledge of magic and was kinder than anyone else, was my best advisor.

When I visited his room today and asked him for such advice, he nodded his head easily.

“I was just thinking about talking about it. Why don’t you make a recovery potion?”

“A recovery potion?”

“Yeah. Nina always uses recovery magic, but it’s not always possible to work together. It’s said that the potions made by a saintess are even better than the advanced ones, so I think it will be something everyone will want.”

“I see…. If you can teach me how to make it, I’d love to know.”

“Got it. This is my area of expertise, so leave it to me.”

“Thanks, Owen!”

Even though they were all masters of magic and swords respectively, they could still get hurt depending on the opponents and their numbers.

They would look at their wounds as if it was just a scratch, but I always felt like my lifespan was being shortened.

I was already able to heal some injuries completely, but if they could always carry a recovery potion around with them, it would be much better.

“You’re welcome, and you can thank me with a kiss.”

“…..”

“It’s not something that will diminish. Oh, if you’re embarrassed,  I can do it for you?”

“What’s the point of that?”

“It’ll make me happy.”

“…. I’ll look forward to your guidance tomorrow.”

While dealing with Owen as usual, I thanked him again as I left the room.

The next day, I started practicing making potions with Owen.

Three weeks later, one afternoon, when I spotted Theo and Dirk, I ran up to them.

“Theo, Dirk! Thanks for everything!”

“Hmm? What’s this, water?”

“Is that an advanced potion?”

I offered them a clear vial with my thanks and their eyes widened in surprise.

As I learned later, only a limited number of light wizards could make advanced potions even in the Kingdom of Wymark.

It also took quite a long time to make one, so everything was controlled by the government and was apparently difficult to obtain.

“As expected, a saintess is amazing.”

“I thought so too.”

Of course, I was still only half-skilled, and on top of that, it took a lot of time, and most of it ended up being intermediate-level.

But I wanted to practice more and more and be able to make a lot of potions. With potions, I would be able to save even those who are out of my reach.

Theo must have thought it was water because the potion was originally green but became beautifully clear as a result of my infusion of the saintess’ magic power.

“Owen did the appraisal and he said it’s perfect.”

“That’s really helpful. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome!”

“Now I’ll be okay even if I blew off one of my arms!”

“Please be really careful.”

Incidentally, the large amount of intermediate potions that were created in the process of failure became a burden, so Owen and I sold them in a passing town, but my eyeballs popped at the unbelievable amount of money we got for them.

Just imagining the price of an advanced-level potion was enough to make me break out in a sweat. I was once again a little scared of my own power, knowing that I could easily become a millionaire with the power of a saintess.

“Nina, is there anything you want?”

“Nothing in particular, I guess. Oh, I want to eat some meat!”

On the way back from selling the potions, Owen smiled troubledly when I answered that, and patted my head.

“Since you’re working so hard, it’s fine to ask for more.”

“But there’s really nothing else.”

“…. Everyone will be attracted to Nina if you’re like that.”

I wasn’t really interested in the jewelry and dresses that women my age wanted, and I couldn’t really find anything else I wanted. I didn’t have any material desires to begin with.

Anyway, I was relieved that I was able to make five advanced potions without incident, so I could present them to everyone.
