Since tanks appeared in the world, how to fight tanks has been an enduring topic faced by all armed forces.

Use incendiary bombs, use mines, use anti-tank grenades, use rockets, use individual missiles, use surface-to-air missiles, and use ballistic missiles

Regarding the skill of "tank fighting", everyone's trend is to develop in the direction of increasing power, higher technology, and farther distance.

But of course, due to the existence of certain special battlefield environments, a quite primitive but quite "weirdly efficient" tactic was born, which is the legendary "anti-tank gymnastics".

First use a close assault method, use manpower to deliver explosives to destroy the reactive armor on the tank's surface, then return to the scheduled launch position, use 105 rockets to penetrate the tank's fragile skirt armor, and then launch rockets from multiple angles after the tank loses power. bomb, completely destroying it.

A set of movements flows smoothly, which is pleasing to the eye.

Unfortunately, the core reason why this set of gymnastics moves can be performed lies in one sentence, that is:

The enemy has no infantry-tank coordination.

In fact, among most laymen and even most less professional military fan groups, the perceptions they hold about "infantry-tank synergy" are wrong.

Rather than saying that what they were thinking about was "infantry and tanks working together", it would be better to say that what they were thinking about was "infantry marching alongside tanks."

These are two completely different things, and the most critical difference lies in the difference in firepower density.

True infantry-tank coordination is to form separate groups of tanks and infantry to ensure uniform fire direction while maintaining a certain distance.

The core point is that both tanks and infantry must have a wide range of fire and must be able to hit their respective targets.

A very simple example. In the current situation, in this kind of village battle, the Indonesian tanks are not using the tanks as bunkers and following behind the tanks while eating exhaust fumes as most people think. Instead, they are falling behind. About two hundred meters behind the tank, wait for the tank to pass the bridge and reach the edge of the village, and then use the cover of the tank to attack collectively.

It has to be said that although Indonesia is poor, their use of "routines" before they really started fighting and encountered a strong counterattack was quite good.

The result of this "in place" was that Chen Chen simply could not seize the opportunity for rapid deployment and sudden attack.

Before anyone was seen, there was a round of heavy artillery bombardment, interrupting the enemy's command sequence in the combat area, forcing the enemy to withdraw from the bunker and find a new anti-shell bombardment bunker.

Immediately afterwards, the tank assaulted at full speed to establish deterrence, and used the vehicle-mounted parallel 7.62mm caliber machine gun to clear out the remaining enemy light infantry and establish a channel for subsequent infantry to follow up.

Later, after the light infantry arrived, the tanks continued to advance in the direction of the enemy's firepower, pulled out the safe area, established a firepower position, and repeated what they had already done, controlling the entire area step by step and taking over the entire battlefield.

The Dongfeng Corps was completely beaten by this combination of punches, and this was the systematic difference.

But now, after the opponent has completely occupied the village and started to advance towards the woods relying on the favorable terrain, the space left for the Dongfeng Corps to counterattack has been reduced to the limit.

The only good news is that when the two sides began to "fight hand-to-hand", the heavy artillery positions in the rear were basically useless.

At least, the Dongfeng Corps no longer needs to worry about artillery fire falling from the sky.

But how to destroy these two tanks is still the most important problem before Chen Chen.

He couldn't let his team members rush up with explosive packages and blast the tanks at close range like Hamas's death squads, nor could he use long-range projected individual anti-tank weapons to "spot kill" the weakly armored FV101.

There was only one thing he could do: smoke.

Unlike most tanks in active service, older versions of the Scorpion tank do not have thermal imaging systems.

The reason is simple, it's just too small.

To put it bluntly, this "reconnaissance tank" is about the same size as a civilian QQ car. If the commander and gunner go out of the cabin to observe at the same time, it looks like something squeezed out of the sunroof of some compact SUVs to see the scenery. Almost like a naughty kid.

It is precisely because of this "compactness" that it is only equipped with a passive night vision device on the right side of the turret. However, the performance of this device is extremely worrying. It is a product of night vision technology in the 1960s. By this time in 2010, , its functionality is completely outdated. Most of the time, neither the commander nor the artillery crew use this equipment for observation, but directly use the periscope for visual observation.

In this case, the interference of smoke grenades on the tank is quite obvious.

Chen Chen was very sure that as long as a sufficient smoke area could be deployed around the tank, his team members would be able to seize the narrow time window and deliver the C4 to the track.

Well, several difficulties in the battle plan are actually very clear.

First, how to use the very limited smoke grenades in hand to cover the observation field of the two tanks, while also cutting them off from the infantry behind them.

Second, how to cross a distance of nearly two hundred meters and rush to the vicinity of the tank in a very short period of time.

You know, the FV101 has been further lightweight and modified in Indonesia. The top speed of this thing can reach nearly 90 kilometers per hour. If you chase it on two legs, how long will it take you to catch it?

The driver of the tank is not a fool. You have thrown smoke grenades, but they still won’t run away?

Therefore, this is actually still a "time difference" issue.

It is necessary to predict the direction of the tank's travel, and after throwing the smoke grenade, complete a series of tactical actions during the ten seconds when the opponent slows down, turns around, and accelerates again.

The third point is the most critical.

If the tank can be blown up successfully, how can the personnel withdraw?

The Eastern Corps is not a death squad of Hamas. Chen Chen has invested a huge cost in each of them, and the casualties of each of them are irreparable heavy losses.

If you can go over, you must be able to come back.

Therefore, there is actually only one solution, and that is.

Kill both tanks at the same time.

This is definitely not a simple task. All tactical maneuvers must be extremely accurate. Even a deviation of just one second may lead to the collapse of the entire operation and the destruction of the entire team.

At this time, the two FV101s had turned to the west side of the village. They took full advantage of their mobility and patrolled back and forth along the road on the west side of the village. At the same time, they used the 7.62mm machine gun on the turret to shoot into the woods to suppress the Dongfeng Corps' Fight back.

At the same time, nearly a hundred light infantrymen had also established a defense line in the village. Under the cover of the rear fire support group, four groups of nearly 50 people formed a skirmish formation to search and advance toward the jungle. During the process, they continued to fire and cover. As long as someone shows up, they will be rewarded with a series of mixed machine gun + rifle fire suppression.

No chance at all.

All tactics have lost their meaning. Under the powerful and systematic fire suppression, it is impossible for the Dongfeng Corps to launch an effective counterattack.

The enemy was approaching step by step, bullets kept passing over their heads, and everyone began to become nervous.

A police officer from the mobile brigade finally couldn't hold it any longer. When another bullet hit the tree trunk next to him, he stood up with a scream of fear and ran back desperately.

But as his figure was exposed, the machine gun on the tank immediately locked onto his position.

A series of bullets flew and he was nailed directly to the tree in front of him.

"Don't move! The distance is too far and the smoke bomb cannot be thrown. Keep waiting for the opportunity!"

Chen Chen ordered again, and everyone in the Dongfeng Corps had already put their hands on the ring of the smoke bomb.

At this time, they were still close to 100 meters away from the tank, 50 meters of which was sparse jungle and 50 meters was the open area on the west side of the village.

Considering the enemy's intensive firepower, the Dongfeng Corps' only chance was when the enemy search group approached within fifty meters of the jungle and was parallel to the tank.

Everyone answered in turn that they had seen the core of Chen Chen's plan.

To put it bluntly, he wants to use the complexity of the terrain to offset the opponent's mobility advantage and create opportunities for the infantry to approach the tanks.

The L-shaped turn is the core of the core. This is the only window period for the tank to slow down.

But here comes the problem.

In order for this plan to be implemented, the most critical issue lies in the start-up stage.

How can the Dongfeng Corps assault the southern river beach and seize that fleeting opportunity?

A look of surprise appeared on Shi Dakai's face, and soon, just as he expected, Chen Chen repeated the battle plan to the commander of the mobile brigade in English.

Everyone in the mobile brigade stood up immediately. They lowered their bodies and headed north, but the members of the Dongfeng Corps remained unmoved.

Nearly 10 seconds later, Chen Chen gave another order in Chinese. Then, the 13 people got up collectively and began to move quickly to the south.

This is a very short time difference, but it is enough.

The reason why infantry operations must emphasize flank attacks is actually very simple.

Human instinct is to pay attention to threats directly in front of them, but they often ignore threats from the side.

For a team that has not undergone high-intensity training, the protection of the flanks during the attack is actually extremely weak. Let alone a quick counterattack, they do not even have basic bunkers arranged.

5 machine guns, 6 rifles, 2 large-caliber sniper rifles.

Every second, more than 100 rounds of bullets can be ejected.

And these more than one hundred rounds of bullets will kill at least two lives.

In just one minute, the four groups of 50 attackers were reduced by almost half. They finally established a defense in the chaos and began to cooperate with the fire support group in the village to launch a counterattack against the Eastern Corps in the smoke.

But the problem is, Chen Chen doesn't intend to fight them where he is!

After leaving a group of members to cover as planned, Chen Chen continued to throw smoke bombs eastward and established a channel extending along the lake.

Facing intensive firepower, the remaining nine people moved to the pier, and with the help of smoke cover, they successfully occupied the pier that had been blown into ruins and obtained a basic bunker.

At this moment, heavy artillery fire roared in the distance again.

Their first strike target was the corner of the L-shaped area. The first group that stayed in place immediately dispersed and concealed itself. The suppressive fire was interrupted, and the enemy once again took the initiative.

But after all, they have created something almost unique.

Two groups of two people are hiding in the dock bunker. From now on, they will not shoot or expose themselves, just to fight for the chance to kill with one hit.

Chen Chen himself continued eastward with the last seven people.

They are the most critical "bait". They must form enough suppressive force on the enemies in the village to push them to call for tank support.

The heavy artillery fire was still extending, and the four people in Group 1 re-entered the woods under the cover of smoke bombs, avoiding the heavy artillery strikes.

In the next few minutes, they will enter the woods on the north side and use the two general-purpose machine guns in their hands to suppress the infantry's advancing speed, forcing the infantry to lose touch with the tanks.

And when that time comes, "anti-tank gymnastics" will finally have a chance to play.
