29. Because you’ll be locked up forever (2)

“Just say that it’s a diary. What do you mean by ‘a diary or something’?”

“Yes. It is a diary. I was talking about a diary.”

“Then, show me your diary, Ariad.”

So-hee’s heart pounded like crazy.

As Joshua narrowed the distance between them, he tried to grab the arm hiding behind her back.

Embarrassed,  So-hee ended up doing something weird.

“You—-”

She got him speechless!

So-hee lifted the arm behind her back and placed the crumpled paper into her mouth.

“What are you doing?”

Dark eyebrows shot up to Joshua’s hairline as his large hand grabbed her chin.

She kept chewing the paper hard before swallowing it.

“What’s wrong with you, Ariad?”

Joshua put a bit of strength when he squeezed her cheeks to make her spit the paper out.

Nevertheless, So-hee didn’t dare give in and allowed the tasteless thing to pass down to her esophagus.

After swallowing it, she opened her mouth.

“It was—- I didn’t want to show you. I want to keep my diary to myself.”

“Then, just tell me straight up that you don’t want to show it.”

“I already expected you to steal it and read it.”

Joshua lifted So-hee’s chin.

His gorgeous face was devoid of any emotion as he moved close enough that she could feel his breath.

“Is it really just a diary?”

People would definitely say that Ariad was acting strange if they witnessed what she had done a minute ago.

However, she had no choice but to do this because it was more embarrassing for her if Joshua had read the content of Hugh’s letter.

So-hee exhaled a sigh and clutched the blanket with her hands.

“Yes. Of course.”

She avoided his intense gaze and glanced sideways but Joshua moved his head and followed her eyes, instead.

When she looked into his blood-red pupils, she could already see that Joshua had never considered it as a diary in the first place.

The thumb underneath her chin rose and gently rubbed her lower lip.

“What are you hiding from me?” He whispered lowly into her neck.

So-hee held her breath for a while before exhaling.

Why did this man make her so nervous?

When he started nibbling her neck, her body trembled as if she had become prey.

When So-hee’s mouth parted slightly, the thumb over her lips fell off.

“I think we should talk about this.”

“What do you mean?”

“About hiding things from each other.”

“I’m not hiding anything from you.”

“Are you sure? Aren’t you trying to figure out how to kill Deon?”

She brought up an uncomfortable topic.

“Oh, yes. Deon.”

One corner of Joshua’s mouth curled up.

He looked both pretty and horrifying.

“Well, I can tell you everything if you want. Especially, about how to get rid of the men around you.” He replied gently.

The large hand clutching her chin dropped before he moved on top of her without delay.

He was sitting right next to her earlier and now his large body had settled heavily on her lower half, forcing her to lean against the headboard.

So-hee’s face paled.

“You wanted to talk to me, right? Then, let’s talk like this.” Joshua’s hand settled at the back of her head. “I can tell you everything about my plans in perfect detail.”

“Really? I mean….”

This wasn’t the development she was expecting and now she was flustered beyond control.

She was the one who proposed talking to each other because she assumed that Joshua would just let her slide because of some precious secrets he couldn’t reveal.

“As you said, we should talk to each other. It’s not like I’ve got something to hide.”

Joshua smiled and gently caressed her hair.

“What are you thinking with that pretty little head of yours? Tell me everything.” He whispered sweetly.

So-hee’s brain had shrunk from the man’s weight settling on top of her.

Nevertheless, she followed his lead awkwardly and continued with a smile. “You should tell me first. I will tell you mine, afterward.”

“Alright.”

So-hee’s eyes widened in shock.

Her husband didn’t even hesitate.

This wasn’t it.

“I’ll wait for Deon to be released on the 17th in front of the west tower. Then, I’ll kill him with my bare hands.” Joshua grinned.

Sohee’s purple eyelashes fluttered as she gulped in discomfort.

“I’ve been thinking about how to dispose of his body these days. I’ll tell you when it’s decided.”

She choked at the words.

The hand at the back of her head grasped her earlobes and grabbed her cheek.

As his lips wandered gently on her neck and shoulder, electric currents seemed to flow in her spine.

“Now, it’s your turn.” His tone was gentle yet authoritative.

She knew that this was one of his intimidation tactics so she kept her mouth shut.

After a precarious silence, he threw his head back and laughed.

“I thought you wanted us to talk to each other.”

She blushed at the friendly reminder.

Joshua scratched her lower lip lightly with his thumb.

“Don’t bite your lips too hard.”

“….”

“If it’s difficult for you to tell me, you can take your time.”

His smiling face came closer before his mouth swooped down for a sweet kiss.

Then, Joshua withdrew.

“By the way, Ariad. Unfortunately, knowing my plan won’t give  you any advantage.”

“What?”

Joshua warm and gentle grin turned into a smirk.

“You’ll be stuck in this room the whole time.”

His eyes darkened as the deep ocean.

“Forever.”
