Chapter 85

Philina turned her head to look at the monster inside the bars.

I’d never seen a guy that big.

His face was wolf-like and his body was huge. His claws were very sharp, and he could see sharp teeth between his slightly parted lips.

The monster, who seemed to be in a deep sleep, swelled up and down repeatedly with each breath.

An insidious air flowed around him. Even the slightest sound of the demon’s breathing felt bloody.

Without realizing it, Filina gulped and backed away, then asked with a nonchalant face.

“…… You said you’ve killed him a few times anyway, so I don’t have to worry about it, do you?”

At her words, Huey opened his mouth with a vague expression.

“Actually, there’s one more reason why the high-level monsters are so tricky.”

“…… What’s that?”

Filina looked at him anxiously. Then Huey turned his head and looked down at her, and said quietly:

“When a superior demon dies and comes back to life, its power is stronger than before.”

“…… Still, you’re a horseman, so you should be able to win.”

Philina urged him to answer, wanting to deny it. However, Huey looked at the monster trapped inside the iron grate with a worried expression.

“I can’t guarantee it, because the last time I killed him, it was a little hard. So I wanted to go to the hallucinatory forest with you before I came back to life, but the reset time was so fast.”

Philina looked at the monster in disbelief. Whether or not he knew her face, Huey continued to say sadly.

“But at first I killed him very easily. It’s been repeated a few times, so it’s definitely tricky.”

Hearing him mutter, Filina glanced at Huey with a grumbling face.

How many times have you killed this monster that you are saying that?

For some reason, I felt that Huey had been through the forest of hallucinations a lot.

At that moment, Huey smashed the demon’s iron spear with magic with a casual face.

“Hey, are you crazy? I’m not even ready yet…”

Filina hurriedly grabbed Huey’s shoulder, but the magic that had already spread from his fingertips could not be undone.

As a loud noise spilled into the quiet space, I could see the eyes of the demon that had been tightly closed slightly distorted. Thankfully, he didn’t seem to wake up.

Huey asked, puzzled.

“Prepare your mind? Why do you need that? We’re going to fight anyway, but we’ve got to deal with it as soon as possible.”

He pulled his lips up and reached forward.

“When he’s caught off guard like that, you have to strike first.”

A white spark flashed over Huey’s palm. It bounced off the monster as it was, creating a strong flame.

Filina looked at him in amazement.

When the monster woke up, he made a strange noise and raised his large body. Then he spread his wings and drew wind to where Huey and Filina were.

She could feel Huey wrap around her, unleashing another attack.

Filina watched him behave in a reckless manner and silently uttered an expletive.

When he turned his head forward, he saw that the demon was trying to escape Huey’s attack. It flapped its large wings in the air, but it only caused a fierce wind.

When I looked closely, I saw a thick restraint attached to one of the demon’s legs. Long chains scraping the floor were restricting his actions.

It was probably hung up by the swordsmanship academy.

As a result, the monster was unable to move freely, and Huey used it to attack East Sea the streets.

But the fight hadn’t even really started yet. The more Huey used his magic, the more intense the movement of the demon became.

The screams of the beast rang out loudly. Then the screams of the other monsters in the kennel rang out together.

Inside the kennel in the dark chill, a huge beast roared loudly.

“…… It’s going to be a little dangerous.”

Huey, who had been silently following the movement of the demon with his eyes, frowned and smirked.

Filina put her hand on the handle of the sword at her waist and stared intently at the excited monster.

There was a small sense of silence. The movement of the demon that had been rampaging to and fro stopped in the middle.

I could see Huey’s expression frowning, as if he had intuited something. Filina watched him with firm eyes.

The chains on the monster’s legs clattered and shrill sounds.

Presently there was a sound of metal cracking, and the restraint that held the monster was shattered. Shards of glass, like shards of glass, splashed in all directions.

The freed monster spread its wings and soared high into the ceiling.

The kennel was thoroughly made to the size of the monster. Therefore, even with its large movements, its radius of action was not limited.

In addition, due to how rigidly the kennel was designed, there was only shaking in the confrontation between Huey and the demons, but the ceiling did not break through or collapse.

The monster rushed at him in an instant, with his sharp claws. Immediately, Filina drew her sword from her waist.

Huey cast a spell on the demon, but it was rendered useless by a single flapping of his wings.

Knowing that his magic hadn’t worked, Huey stared at the demon with a blank face.

But that was just too much leeway.

Philina shoved Huey back and swung her sword. At the same time, the claws of the demon hit the blade and made a sharp noise.

If she had drawn her sword a little late, she couldn’t have predicted what would have happened.

Behind him, Huey uttered an exclamation like a fool.

“…… Wow, Philina. It’s really cool.”

Philina, who had been blocking the demon’s claws with her sword, glanced back and spoke.

“Crazy bastard, I almost died because of you! If you can’t handle it, why are you ignorant of the attack?!”

Huey blinked his red eyes in a dumbfounded expression at her nasty profanity. Then he asked in a puzzled voice.

“…… Philina, are you cursing at me now?”

Filina glared at the demon in front of her, straining the sword in her hand.

As her blade stretched out sharply in a straight line, the demon roared and stepped back.

Only then did Filina look at Huey and answer dryly:

“Show me what a proper swear word is?”

At her words, Huey closed his mouth and pondered for a moment. Then he asked in a serious voice.

“Later, when we’re alone, can you curse at me?”

He asked, his eyes shining expectantly. Then Philina scanned him up and down and spat out coldly.

“Please take stock of the situation.”

The monster pounced on them once more. Philina quickly turned and swung her sword at the demon.

Then, with a strong wind, a transparent beam of light rose brilliantly. The divine power formed a sharp thorn vine that swung around one of the monsters’ wings.

His screams echoed through the silence. Soon, one of the monster’s huge wings was trapped by a white beam of light and fell apart.

Boom!

There was a roar as the monster’s wings fell to the ground, and soon the flying creature fell to the ground with him.

A haze of dust flew in front of her.

Huey, who had watched all this, said with a puzzled face.

“What is it? Since when have you used divine power so freely?”

Filina was staring down at her sword in a daze.

Contrary to Huey’s words, she has not yet fully used her powers. I just realized that there was a real latent power in me.

Even if I didn’t eat the potion, the same strength leaked out. This was no longer denyable.

The monster, which had fallen to the ground, quickly came to its senses and was swinging one wing violently in the air.

I’d dealt with a high-ranking monster with wings like him before. As such, Filina knew he could soar with just one wing.

True to her thoughts, the monster flew up to the ceiling in no time.

A low howl spread through the demon’s violent teeth. One huge wing was constantly whipping through the air.

“Huey.”

At the sound of Philina’s muffled voice, Huey looked back nonchalantly.

“I don’t think we need to waste time like this.”

She glared at the monster and groaned calmly. Then Huey tilted his head and opened his mouth.

“So what are you going to do?”

Filina sent her eyes back for a moment to look at the indigo door with her back to him.

It was a passage leading to the forest of hallucinations.

Philina shifted her gaze back to the monster and said to Huey:

“Let’s take turns attacking you and me.”

At her words, Huey furrowed his eyebrows and pursed his lips.

“I’ve told you before. When divine power meets magic, it has no effect. It’s just nullified.”

“That’s why we’re going to take turns using them. If we don’t have a lot of power, the blow will be enough.”

“Do you think you can beat him with an attack like that? The monster’s wings that you cut off will also reattach over time. The stamina we’ve dropped will recover in no time.”

“So you said that demon is tricky?”

Philina slammed her sword lightly into the air as if to test her strength. Then I saw a white light flickering around the blade.

He didn’t know how the divine power was triggered, but at least for now, he felt like he could use it whatever he wanted.

Philina said, raising her gaze upwards again.

“It doesn’t really matter how strong he is, Huey.”

Her calm voice made him look at Philina with a face that he didn’t understand.

“So what’s the big deal?”

At Huey’s words, she jerked her chin at the indigo door behind the demon.

“Our goal is not that demon, but a passage to the hallucinatory forest.”

“yes.”

“So let’s not waste time. You don’t have to be so energetic already.”

Philina stared at the monster with a blank face and continued.

“First of all, let’s launch a series of attacks to block his view.”

At her words, Huey nodded and asked.

“And then?”

Philina replied, her lips curled up smoothly.

“You have to run like crazy.”

“…….”

“Into the forest of hallucinations.”
