Chapter 26: - June 20 (Saturday): Family Restaurant

The not-so-anticipated Saturday arrived.

The weather was cloudy, just like my mood.

I almost wished a storm would come and wipe out my plans for the day, but I had no choice.

When I entered a family restaurant with the relaxed atmosphere, I found Yuika and Kaedezaka sitting together.

Yuika was wearing a cute one-piece casual dress, while Kaedezaka was wearing a denim jacket with her shoulders bare, just like before.

“I haven’t heard the details, but Yuehua said that she might not be able to get the campaign work due to the harassment of the evil woman. … Is that correct?”

Naturally, Kaedezaka would be aware of the fact that she was being called a wicked woman.

She knew that, and purposely asked this.

I’m scared.

“Well, well. That’s right.”

Kaedezaka replied softly as she used the teaspoon and slowly stirred the tea with a teaspoon and replied softly.

“You’re right. I think there are times in this world when you can’t do your best even if you try your best. But I think that’s why it’s meaningful to work hard.”

The true meaning to her words seemed to be, ‘No matter how hard you try, you will still fail.”

Yuika, who was sitting next to her, joined the conversation.

“But it’s terrible, isn’t it, that evil woman? How dare her interfere with your work.”

“… Ah.”

“I don’t want to grow up to be like that.”

When I glanced at Kaedezaka, she looked nonchalant, as if she didn’t care.

But her lips were trembling slightly.

She appeared to have suffered some psychological damage.

Unable to bear it, Kaedezaka started to argue.

“But, Yuika-san. I’m sure that evil woman has her reasons.”

“Do you think so? I think it’s just insidious harassment. Kaedezaka-san would never tolerate such a person, would she?”

“T … That is right.”

Kaedezaka was trying hard to maintain her composure; however, from my point of view, her expression was clearly strained.

Here, another unexpected situation arose.

“Hey, Onii-san. Do you want some fries?”

“Yeah. I’ll have some.”

“I’ll feed you. Here you go.”

Another feeding situation.

I couldn’t help it, and took a bite.

Huh?

Come to think of it, when I was with Otozui, I had a feeling of resistance; but when I was with Yuika, I could take a bite unhesitantly.

Why was that? Anyways, the potatoes were delicious.

As I chewed the fries, I saw Kaedezaka’s face diagonally across from me.

“Mumumu mumumumumumu!!”

Kaedezaka stared at us half-sobbing, her hand trembling as she held the spoon.

… Ooops.

She was the kind of person who would go out of her way to see me for the sake of Yuika.

“Yeah, okay. Yes.”

With that, Yuika offered a plate of fries to Kaedezaka.

But that’s not it, Yuika.

Kaedezaka doesn’t want fries, she wants you to feed her.

She nibbled on the potatoes sadly, half crying again.

“Mumumu mumumumumumu!!”

She growled and glared at me.

No, no, no!

Just because you didn’t get fed doesn’t mean it’s my fault!

Yuika was stunned, not comprehending Kaedezaka’s reaction.

At this point, Yuika received an incoming call on her phone.

“Oh, sorry. A friend called me, so excuse me for awhile.”

After saying that, Yuika hurried out of the restaurant.

I was left alone with Kaedezaka, the source of the problem.

Of course, there was nothing to say, and silence ensued for a while.

It was tough …, this silence …

Then Kaedezaka mixed a teaspoon of tea and began to speak in a calm tone.

“Sasamiya-san. Do you like tea?”

I wondered what she was going to say all of a sudden, but I decided to go along with it for now.

“Well, yeah that’s normal.”

“I love it so much, and just enjoying the scent is so calming.”

“I know what you mean.”

I had thought she was a strange person, but she seemed to have normal feelings.

If it weren’t for Yuika, she would probably be just another college girl from anywhere.

Kaedezaka, looking at the rippling surface of the tea, had a somewhat peaceful expression on her face.

“This place has a nice vibe, doesn’t it?”

“Yeah.”

“It’s soothing.”

“Yeah. It’s a nice place.”

Looking relaxed, Kaedezaka touched the teacup with both hands.

“It’s me, …. I’m in the mood to stick a spoon up the ass of the man in front of me, run through a window, and then stand on my head in a field and scream.”

What kind of situation is that?!!!!

I mean, that guy is me, right?!

Do you hate me that much that you want to shove a spoon up my ass!!!?

“The scent of Darjeeling surrounds me. It soothes me. Isn’t that a wonderful feeling?”

“I want to get out of here. …”
