Sunday.

Today was the day me and Yuika were going to see the Yuru-chara exhibition.

I woke up earlier than usual and was wondering which outfit to wear.

“Hmm… If I’m going with a high school girl, I should wear something stylish.. However…”

At the age of twenty-six, it might work as usual, but it might still look out of place when walking side by side.

But there was also the pressure of having to dress for my age.

But why was I so worried?

Although the plan was to stroll along the date course, the main purpose was to see the Yuru-chara exhibition.

Me and Yuika were just going to do date-like things.

Really man, I’m so tired of Aina’s playing couple game.

Yuika, who had a soft spot for younger women, was quick to jump on board with Aina’s story…

After much deliberation, I finally decided to go to the meeting place dressed as usual.

◆◆◆◆◆

The meeting place was the entrance just outside the ticket gate.

In a classic Western-style plaza reminiscent of the Taisho era, I leaned my back against a pillar and waited for Yuika.

Today’s mission was to have fun with Yuika.

According to Kaedezaka, it was important for high school girls to have fun.

Even so, since we were from different generations, there would be many times when we would not be able to have a conversation.

I have solved many problems in the past, but this one seemed particularly challenging.

But… to entertain Yuika… huh?

I couldn’t picture it at all.

I mean, how can I entertain Yuika, who was always tepid?

When I was gazing at the ceiling in a daze, someone squished my arm.

When I turned around, there stood Yuika, dressed in plain clothes.

“Good morning, Onii-san.”

“Yo, Yuika.”

Today Yuika was wearing a neat one-piece dress.

Perhaps because of the design, she exuded the atmosphere of a calm woman.

Oops. Almost forgot.

When you meet up with a woman, the first thing you do is compliment her on her outfit, right?

Of course I know that.

I immediately tried to compliment her, but Yuika put her hand over her mouth and looked down.

“… …”

“What’s wrong?”

Is she perhaps not feeling well?

If so, this was no time to be going to a Yuru-chara exhibition.

Should I send her home right away? No. Maybe I should give her a break at a nearby place.

But my fears were unfounded.

“…. …pfff. …. …haha…kukuku.”

I don’t know why, but it would seem that Yuika was just trying hard to hold back her laughter.

‘…. why am I suddenly being laughed at?’

“S… sorry. …Wai…Wait a minute. ….n….kuku….”

This hurts more than laughing out loud.

After a few moments, Yuika finally regained her composure.

“Phew …, I’ve finally calmed down.”

“Do I look strange in my clothes?”

“Noo. It’s just amusing to meet up with Onii-san and go on a date….ku,…kuku…”

“I think I’m going home.”

“Sorry, sorry.”

It seemed that the goal of “entertaining Yuika,” which was my assignment, was accomplished within a few seconds of meeting her.

Amazing, aren’t I?

I was able to transcend words and make her laugh with my very presence.

To be precise, I was just laughed at.

“Then, I’ll tell you what we’re going to do today. Our goal is to go around a date course that Aina-chan would be satisfied with. Are we good so far?”

“Yeah.”

“First we will experience the Observatory, then go to the Yuru-chara exhibition, and after that, we will have some sweets and relax for a while.”

Hearing that, I felt a little relieved.

“I’m glad. I was afraid you were going to say we were going to start by jumping off the roof of a building.”

“What do you think I am?”

I guess my sense of humor was a little off because I was getting harsh retorts.

Anyway we got on the elevator to go to the Observatory of the station building.

I had not been aware of it until now, but I wondered if it was okay for a guy like me, an old man, to walk around with a high school girl, Yuika.

She was definitely a beautiful girl.

I, on the other hand, was a dull office worker …….

I felt like I was pulling Yuika’s leg.

(T/N: Here pulling leg doesn’t mean “joking” it means:- to hold back others from achieving success; to stand in the way of; to sabotage If anyone has a better way of framing the sentence feel free to comment)

When we were silent in the elevator going up, Yuika grabbed my arm and squished it twice.

“Are you nervous by any chance?”

My anxiety was immediately seen through.

Normally, I would be trying to look good here, but exposing my lame self by doing something stupid would only tarnish my pride.

This is where honesty comes in.

“…I guess I was seen through. It seems I can’t hide anything from you, Yuika.”

“I knew it. You’ve been silent for a while, so I thought that might be the case.”

Yuika said, looking worried.

“I see you’re afraid of heights. Slowly slowly, Don’t be afraid because your Onee-san is here with you.”

“My sentimentality is killing me by the second.”

In the end, our conversation was the same as usual.

I lost a lot of weight from my shoulders.
