Chapter 51

It was not yet the time when black magic appeared in the original.

Even if the timing has been moved forward because of the development that has already started to go wrong, shouldn’t it have anything to do with her?

“I’ll have to go back there and see what happened.”

“Your master has already done the investigation. So, here’s where you should be.”

Cassian pressed down on Elysia’s shaking shoulder when she was about to get up.

Her slip was brimming with blood, although Elysia continued her words as if she didn’t care about her wounds.

“Old Man? Where is he now?”

Cassian took a long breath and whispered in her ear in a low voice. It was no mistake that his voice felt colder than usual.

“You can’t go anywhere now.”

“…Huh?”

Elysia then gazed straight at Cassian.

His eyes were a little sharper than usual, and his purple eyes were a complex mixture of worries and other emotions.

He lowered his gaze and glanced at Elysia’s wounds. So, her eyes, looking at him, also turned to her wounds.

She was so agitated that she wondered why she didn’t feel it.

“How long have I been lying down…?”

“Half a day.”

Elysia nodded her head and relaxed her body. She wanted to meet Ramote and hear the explanation of what was going on right away, but she couldn’t continue when she saw the man in front of her.

“After the investigation, the archmage didn’t say anything when I asked.”

Cassian, who spoke calmly about what had happened, seemed to be holding on to something.

Hearing so, she bit her lips tightly because she seemed to understand why Ramote did that. He wouldn’t have been able to easily spit out the word black magic, and she would have to talk to Ramote first.

Elysia had told Ramote in advance.

She said that in the not-too-distant future, someone who uses black magic would appear.

“You seem to know why the Archmage kept his mouth shut.”

Cassian supported Elysia’s waist and under her knees and gently held her up. He then put her back on the bed and kept her in position. Then, he smiled bitterly as he glanced at her as he sat across the bed and bit his lips.

“Your wounds healed quickly even the moment you came home.”

Cassian pulled out a clean bandage from the box lying on the table and pulled the ribbon at the shoulder of the slip Elysia was wearing.

He also pulled the ribbon on her side and pulled the slip off without raising her.

He seemed to have chosen clothes that were easy to take off, considering there was a wound from the beginning.

Goosebumps rose as the cool air touched her skin, which had heated up due to her wounds. Even though the naked body was revealed in front of him, there was no reaction.

“I wondered if I should call the doctor. I might have to cut my hand with a sword like when your magic runs out.”

Cassian knelt down on one of his knees in front of Elysia.

She didn’t know what to say, so she stayed still and watched him do it. A finger undid the bandage around her waist, brushing her bare skin.

“In the meantime, your master just says to put the bandages on and leave it alone. How much does your teacher know?”

One corner of Cassian’s lips twisted up.

His eyes were filled with deep anger.

“I already knew that you had a lot to hide, but I’m angry at this point.”

He seemed unwilling to hide the anger in his voice. And yet, the hand that bandaged with the new bandage was so tender that Elysia had no choice but to bite her lower lip.

She shuddered as he carefully bandaged her, being careful not to touch her wounds, and felt something coming up.

“I didn’t say anything as you wish. I even promised to send you later…”

Looking at the red marks left on the slip, Cassian frowned, got up, and went out of the room. When he returned soon after, he had new clothes in his hands.

“…But, I’ve changed my mind. I think I’ll go crazy if I let you go.”

Elysia’s eyes widened at his words.

Meanwhile, Cassian, with his swift touch, clothed her with the newly brought robes.

As for Elysia, she could not think of anything else, even as she looked at him one by one. She was just thinking about what he meant.

Cassian placed her hands on Elysia’s either side, locking her in his arms. He slowly tilted his head at an angle and raised the corners of his lips.

It was the smile that made Elysia’s heart weak.

It must have been the same expression, but it felt so different.

Elysia knew what Cassian was talking about. Nonetheless, even if he knows everything about her, even if he only knows part of it… Can he still say that?

She’s an existence that shouldn’t exist in this world, but can she still have the heart he had for her?

Yes, maybe it was a good thing.

Although she had not yet met Ramote and heard the details, she knew that black magic was certain.

In the original story, the second Prince used black magic to take the throne, but he also tried to use black magic against Elysia, which had nothing to do with gaining the throne.

Apparently, like in the original, he seemed to have a heart for the character ‘Elysia.’ So, if that’s why he’s trying to approach her, she didn’t know if it would be good to end the relationship with Cassian even now.

She didn’t want to drag Cassian into this thing.

Since he’s not the main protagonist, she thought he would lead a life that was unrelated to the original story, but he didn’t. From the moment he made contact with her—being a lover, an engagement, a relationship, he was already forcibly drawn in.

“It’s not too late yet.”

Only now did Elysia admit it.

She knows that she can’t get any farther from the characters in the original story as long as she’s Elysia Lowell.

No matter how hard she tried to avoid it, she kept getting entangled. And, if she couldn’t give him back anyway, it might be better if she could stop him in that way.

“I’ll just tell you. Everything about me. Do I really need something like an entitlement?”

She took off his hand that was tying the ribbon in front of her and lifted her hand and tied it directly. Then, she moved her body and made her posture right.

Elysia opened her mouth first, as though she had stopped Cassian from saying something.

“If the wounds I received today were more serious, if I suffered a life-threatening wound in the monster subjugation, what would have happened?”

Meanwhile, Cassian looked at her without saying a word.

Elysia grabbed one of his hands and brought it to her lips before raising her fangs towards his fingers so that he could see very well.

The smell of fishy blood stimulated the tip of her nose with the feeling of her digging into his flesh.

“When that happens, I lose my temper. If I could not control my fangs and my urge, that person could lose their life.”

His brow was straight and not wrinkled, and his tightly bitten lips did not raise the corners of his mouth.

There was no emotion in his eyes that had sunk to the point that her spine was chilly.

Seeing the expressionless face, Elysia felt her heart pounding. When he finds out about her, she will lower her greed for his heart to remain the same, and she steadfastly opens her mouth.

“Now, what are you going to do?”

“What.”

“I’m a threat at any time. Wasn’t this the reason you were trying to spy on me?”

It was a self-helpful remark that came out anxiously as there was no answer.

His eyes glanced at her face without a break, and her hand on her thigh trembled as she wanted to cover her face. Still, her reason should not be shaken, and that she should carry on with her words.

“I’m a monster in this world. I shouldn’t exist. When I can’t drink human blood, I lose my temper, and I don’t die easily with a physical condition superior to that of a human.”

As she continued her words to him, what she had been holding back came up in tears. She felt like her emotions were running high and she was short of breath.

Perhaps Elysia’s feelings had been conveyed, Der, who was next to her, pushed its head under her hand.

She peered at Der and opened her mouth again.

“It’s the truth when the High Priest says that Der is an existence that humans cannot control.”

Elysia smiled brightly as Cassian frowned her brow. She could see a certain emotion seeping into his eyes, which had not been shaken at all.

A little bit more. More.

A constant cry echoed in her head.

She unlocked her ability to deceive and dazzle the person who made eye contact with her. Gently, she grabbed Cassian’s chin and made him close her gaze.

“Do you feel it? I was born to seduce humans thoroughly. You have been deceived by me.”

Elysia groaned harshly and let go of her hand on his chin.

“You wonder why I can’t have children?”

“Stop—”

Elysia said in a low voice, as if telling a secret. “Because the body is full of toxins, a human child can’t stand it.”

She opened the distance from him and rolled up her slip.

Suddenly, she untied the bandages that he had carefully wrapped around him, as if torn apart.

“Can you see the wound that burst just a moment ago, now it was as if someone had sewn it? Isn’t it disgusting? …Haha.”

An unnatural laughter echoed through the room.

She then said to Cassian to go ahead and check it out.

As he was grabbing her wrist, which lifted the slip further, he opened his mouth again.

“Let’s stop there.”

“It’s not over yet. Come to think of it, I was bad. You should know. How terrible I am… ugh.”

Because of that, he grabbed Elysia’s chin and kissed her roughly. He licked her lips so hard that it hurt, and shoved his hot tongue between her gaping lips.

It was a kiss that seemed to swallow even the breath from her red lips.

Elysia bit his lips.

The smell of the fishy blood lingered in the two mouths.

“Ha— I think this level is weak, seeing that you are still thinking about kissing me? Oh, regardless of that, do you want my body?”

Saying that, she grabbed his collar and giggled.

She pulled his collar and kissed Cassian’s neck.

Leaving red traces with her lips, Elysia lifted her head and continued her words. “I told you from time to time. Your body is so sweet. You’ve been tricked by me. You just fell for me who is luring my prey.”

So, it’s not love…’

And, she uttered these words with a desire to deny that the feelings he felt were not love.

“You just felt different because I was different from the other ladies.”

“Yes, you’re right.”

Elysia forgot to breathe for a moment at his words.

…Wasn’t that the answer she wanted?

It’s too much for her to deny her heart just before and to be so sullen.
