I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Chapter 106 - The Glimpse-II

Barbara, the young vampiress was still smiling but her eyes narrowed when received by Seoyeon's clueless question that asked her if there was anything wrong with the blood. Frankly, the vampiress expect Seoyeon, the punny human girl would scream when the blood was given or if screaming was too overreacting, she calculated the human to have a pale face and dropped the smile to fear, yet here she was having a normal expression.

But how could Seoyeon be afraid of blood? She had seen worse when Jung Hwa killed Gwon Sheiin to protect her, or the witchess that kidnapped her friend. It was still a blood in the glass not a person's limbs. If it was one, then Seoyeon would be frightened and have a pale face but in front of the vampiress, she didn't felt she should be scared.

"Barbara, the Secretary is a human, do you expect her to drink blood?" Valerie asked her daughter with a smile then her daughter turn her face at her mother and Jung Hwa with a surprised expression and a confused look,

"She is a human?" Barbara feigned her shock. "I'm sorry, I thought you were a half vampire, there had been many humans transformed into one, so I thought you are also in the case." said the vampiress to Seoyeon.

Jung Hwa who watched his cousin's act, chuckled, his smile fell and now only one side of his lips were pulled, "She is the person I've saved, the one in the rumors." He raised his hand and took the glass of blood from Barbara, the girl was happy when the glass was taken.

At Jung Hwa's words, Seoyeon felt Valerie studying her and hummed, "So she is the human in the question, I've been wondering how she would-"

At the same time, the glass Jung Hwa held tilted, and out of purpose, he released his fingers from the glass and let the glass to fall and clashed to the ground, sounds of shattering followed for eyes to fall at him.

Looking at the glass, Seoyeon was surprised that her body flinched, she then look up to see Jung Hwa giving a look of his face and spoke, "Oops, it breaks easily than I thought." Despite his words, he was there smiling in mirth.

Seoyeon looked at him in surprise. What was he up to?

Jung Hwa look at his aunt and cousin who were looking at the glass in surprise and he spoke, "I should say, they should make a strong glass. How could a single fall breaks them?"

"Glasses are often beautiful but in comparison they are weaker, brother Hwa." replied Barbara who had frowned a moment ago when she saw Jung Hwa breaks the glass she gave to him.

Seoyeon has been quiet when she suddenly felt her hand touched, her fingers moved away but the Jung Hwa intertwined all his fingers to hers, capturing her hand. Without looking at Valerie or Barbara, he spoke at Seoyeon, "I've seen glass that are both beautiful, fragile yet strong. They should learn a thing or two from it." Valerie narrowed her eyes at her nephew's words, meanwhile, Barbara who hadn't notice anything like her mother had stopped smiling when she saw them staring at each other before her eyes moved down at their hands.

A deeper frown flashed at Barbara's forehead, a look of dislike came to take over her face. "I've never seen such a glass before, would you tell me what glass it was?"

"I'll tell you when the time comes." Jung Hwa responded, "Seoyeon here is still new in this place, Barbara and Aunt Valerie, I hope you two could be kind to her."

"Of course, we will. Humans are also a part of our nature, they are weaker and weak beings have to be protect by the stronger one." said the older vampiress but Barbara didn't reply.

Only until Jung Hwa raise his brow did the young vampiress gave herself a nod which she didn't meant at all.

Seeing the nod Barbara gave then Jung Hwa smirked, "We'll go now, enjoy yourself auntie."

When they left the place, Seoyeon didn't say anything as she didn't know what should she say or until how much could she spoke. It was clear that their interaction wasn't normal. Or was it normal in the vampire's world? They smiled at each other and she couldn't see the friction but she could feel the sparks. Seoyeon didn't know about Jung Hwa's relationship with his aunt but she could tell that it wasn't good. Then there was the young vampiress, when Barbara gave the drink to her, she felt that the vampiress were looking at her as if she didn't belong there. And she was correct she didn't belong in this vampires' world. But she notice that the look was not because she had arrived in the vampires' world but rather because she stood beside Jung Hwa.

Jung Hwa who had been watching her the entire time, didn't miss the look she had as they left from his aunt and cousin. When they had reached a further place where most people didn't come to,

"What are you thinking about?" His voice brought her eyes at him, "Them?" he asked her, his body then leaned back to the wall. Seeing him leaning, she moved a few steps behind to follow him.

"Were you and your aunt in a bad term?" she asked because that was what she saw. They didn't fight outright; but the words they uttered to each other was far from being in a friendly term.

"Why do you ask that?" He asked, looking away as if he didn't notice the words exchange he gave to his aunt.

"It just seems that way," murmured Seoyeon, as she didn't know if she had touched a sensitive question she then turn the question, "Is Mrs. Valerie your aunt from your mother's side?"

"She is not." He replied and his smile left his lips. "That woman is my mother's half-sister, they were born of a different father."
