I'm The Boss's Secretary?!
Chapter 236 - Saving One’s Tail-II
Two nights ago, Che Hara spent her time in her room. She was too afraid to leave her room in fear she would get attacked by the same woman who had killed Chu Sunji. The woman was not a human, and somewhere Che Hara knows of it.
Chu Sunji might be an incompetent man but he was not weak either to be defeated yet with one strike, the woman had killed him.
To point, before she left, the killer noticed her hiding place. Che Hara was not sure whether the killer saw her face as it was the time of midnight, but she can't be sure of it. Most vampires except half vampires could see in the dark and if that being could also she in the dark, there was a chance her cover had been blown.
Biting to her fingernail, Che Hara anxiously sauntered back and forward on the floor of her room when she heard a knock from her room. Startled, her body flinched on from the ground.
She was scared; scared that the being would chase her to her house but then there was her parents and servants, thought Che Hara.
She didn't want to bet or jinx her life by saying it aloud, but the vampiress had a feeling that the killer was neither vampires or human. It was a witch!
After hearing the issued statement from the Associates to notify the existence of witches that still prevail, the young vampiress failed to learn that witches were being close to a monster. Che Hara heard of how witches killed vampires and worse, pureblood, but she grew up hearing that witches had all died, therefore making her to degrade the witches's power.
But after yesterday night, she learned her mistake.
"Who is it?" she demanded, trying to be brave but her hands were shaking.
Che Hara had killed human before but she had never seen a vampire like her killed. Seeing the scene making her to fear that vampires were being that could be killed by others. As a vampire all this time, she thought she was supreme.
"Your friend came to visit, miss Hara," said the other person on the side of the door, who was the servant of the house. Curious, Che Hara opened the door and when her eyes went to the maid, she clicked her tongue.
"Didn't I say that I want to be alone?" her words were clipped with anger, having the maid to looked down with her face nervous.
Che Hara was known to be a spoilt child throughout her childhood. She believed that her words have to be hold the upmost regard and no one should be able to deny her words; else the vampiress would get angry and threw a tantrum. Needlessly to say Che Hara's tantrum was not like a child but worse like an abuse for the maids in the house. But they could not win the only daughter of the house.
"I-it's your friend, miss Ara, should I tell her to leave?" the maid asked because Che Hara seemed to be displeased.
"What will you do after turning away my friend then?! You have woke me up from my sleep and now you ask my friend to leave?" The maid was visibly confused at the miss's temper but held herself from saying anything that could worsen her anger.
"Bring her to the sitting room," said Che Hara. She still felt nervous but Ara was her best friend, who had a close relationship with her.
The maid quickly left and not long, Che Hara came to the sitting room. A vampiress with pink colored hair seated herself in front of a round coffee table. Her demeanor was gentle and beside her was a trunk that was made out of leather.
"Ara!" Che Hara was happy with her friend's arrival. Spreading her arm, she hugged her friend, and Ara returned her hug. "You came to my house late tonight."
Ara smiled, her eyes looking back at Che Hara with a pinch of gentleness, "I had something urgent to tell you, and it had to be right now."
"That's rare," replied Che Hara, droning the tail of her words to look at the trunk that was placed beside Ara's seat. "You usually take everything easy, but if this is urgent."
While they took a seat, a knock came across the room and come in Mr. Che. He first came to hug his daughter before looking at Ara, and after greeting, the man asked, "How is your father? He had been outside the country I heard."
"Yes, but he came in contact with a virus, and had to take rest in the house. The doctor said it's not a bad pneumonia," replied Che Hara.
Mr. Che nodded his his head, taking the information, "Vampires rarely get sick or come in contact with virus, but your father is an exception. I know him since child and he had always have the weakest body. I pray your father would regain his health."
"Thank you, I will be sure to put words to my father of your regards," replied Ara; and Mr. Che who didn't want to stand in between her daughter and her friend's conversation left the room.
"What is urgent?" Che Hara turned her face when the door clack close. Taking the biscuit to her hand to accompany the red colored tea she held on her right hand.
Ara didn't drink the tea and instead, she looked at it to say, "Did you heard about Chu Sunji?"
Hearing this, Che Hara breathed in the crumble of the biscuit. She coughed and took the tea to ease her throat, "Oh, yes. It was unfortunate," replied Che Hara briefly. She stared at Ara carefully, looking at her hands.
How weird, from what she knew Ara didn't like black nail polish, but here her friend used a pitch black color to polish her fingernails.
Che Hara pulled her eyes from Ara's fingernail, looking at her friend who smiled when their eyes met, and somewhere she felt nervous, "How did you heard of Sunji's death?"
"Hm, the rumors are fast to spread," replied Ara slowly.
"Yes, rumors are always fast to spread amongst others," agreed Che Hara, "But there should be no worry."
"Why?" questioned Ara quickly, her head inclined to her right shoulder in curiosity. "Is there a reason why we don't have to worry?"
"Of course," replied Che Hara, finding this reply of Ara was odd, "Associate Jung would definitely find the killer, we could rest easy. I know that he would be able to clear the case. He is strong and dependable. The result would come soon-"
Che Hara stopped her words when she felt her slippers wet; curious, she looked away from her friend to the trunk placed beside noticing the trail of red liquid that had soaked her white colored slipper.
"W-what is that?!" Che Hara pushed her body in shock, throwing her chair back in process, her hands covered her mouth when she saw the blood had pooled bellow her table.
She heard a click. Turning her head, she witness Ara standing expressionlessly in front of the door, her hand was on the key, locking the door while Che Hara was trying to process what had taken place.
"What are you doing, Ara? What is in that trunk!" shrieked Che Hara in shock. What did her friend brought to her house?!
"A body." came her unresponsive reply.
On it, Che Hara noticed the smile from Ara dropped. Seeing the door had been closed while she was shocked, the vampiress tried to leave and escape from the window but was pulled by the hair by 'Ara'.
"What are you doing!" yelled Che Hara, her hands trying to stop Ara but the girl had an ironclad hold that she was not able to run. "You are not sane! Why did you bring a body to my house?!" The vampiress still thought that Ara was her friend, without knowing who it was that had actually taken her friend's body.
"Who was it that you said, Jung?" questioned Ara and Che Hara's eyes goggled to her friend's voice that changed.
It finally hit to the realization that her friend was not what she is, "Y-you are not Ara!"
"Finally cat's out the bag," sneered the woman, "I know from the olden times that vampiress are not quick to catch but you are more than stupid," said the woman who continued to pulled Che Hara by her hair and placed her on the chair again, "Take a seat, we should have a talk."
There was no room to refuse. Che Hara gripped tight to the armrest, fearing that her friend was not a person she knows. But her face was clearly Ara's!
"I-I don't have anything," she stated quickly. Should she scream? But what if this woman was a witch? Her parents would be killed! But before that she would be killed first!
"No, you have something. Something that I want to know, look at this, say hello," the woman opened the trunk, and the body rolled to the ground.
Che Hara watched her friend's body, the real Ara had rolled out from the trunk where her head that had been severed from her body rolled to her feet. She resisted to scream as the woman put one finger over her lips, signaling her not to scream.
"Do you want to follow your friends in hell?" The dark witchess asked to see Che Hara shaking her head vigorously.. "Would you like to help me then? If you do so, I will spare you and your family's life."
Chu Sunji might be an incompetent man but he was not weak either to be defeated yet with one strike, the woman had killed him.
