I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Chapter 297 - Putting It To Place-I

Taken by the sudden hug surprised Seoyeon but the warmth Jung a Hwa transferred to her was far than something she could reject. His strong arm envelope her body, making her feel at peace like never before. The only people who had ever hug her was the late Mr. and Mrs. Han. Their hug was filled with familial love. But Jung Hwa's embrace filled her with more emotions— almost filling her with an overwhelming amount of happiness and serene.

"It was the lucid dream," Seoyeon answered, leaning her chin on his shoulders where she felt her face belong to. She then let out a few dry cough and Jung Hwa had to pull her from his embrace. Getting up, he immediately poured her water and passed the glass to her hands.

After dawning the entire glass without leaving a drop, Seoyeon then looked at him, asking, "How long have I've been asleep?" Seeing how worried Jung Hwa was, she wondered if she had passed out for a long time. Due to her dream, her sense in time was clouded and dulled. She could tell it was morning as light begin to fill the dark room and sunlight enter through the gaps of the curtains, but as for what day it was she didn't know.

"Nine hours," Jung Hwa answered with a smile, "You have fulfilled the sleep requirement for an adult woman, even taking an extra hour."

"Then..." Seoyeon was still holding to her glass and looking at him, she asked, "Why do you look so worried?" It didn't make sense for him to look so worried and even panic when she woke up if she had slept like usual.

Jung Hwa showed her a tender smile as if something of yesterday night had caught him by surprised and she was correct. "I heard your heartbeat dropped. When I got by here your heartbeat stopped for about ten seconds. I tried waking you up but you were still on the deep slumber. I had also woke you up when you regain your heartbeat again but you were so deep in sleep that you can't hear my voice."

A few hours ago, Jung Hwa had just got back from moving his grandfather to his room, when he went back to his room, he thought to visit Seoyeon for a brief moment. It was when he stood in front of her door did he heard her heartbeat dropped all of a sudden.

"That happened?" She didn't know, thought Seoyeon. Jung Hwa still had a look of concern on his face and he continue stare at her, his ears keenly picking the sound of heartbeat to assure himself that she was alright.

"Yesterday night there was something I wasn't able to tell you," Jung Hwa said, deciding to bring it up as he didn't want Seoyeon to know about herself late only to regret not telling her faster.

Seoyeon recalled that he indeed had something to tell her but stopped because it was late at midnight. "What was it about?"

"The catalyst. I heard from someone whom you will know soon, that there are stages a person take before the catalyst fully take over your body," said Jung Hwa. He stayed true to his promise of not revealing who Seojun really is because he knows that things such as this are better to be discussed together. Unlike him, Seoyeon still has a family. Disregarding the fact that Seojun was to stay beside Seoyeon so he could kill her in case if anything went wrong, he was still Seoyeon's sister and despite the mission gave to him, Jung Hwa know the young man cannot kill Seoyeon as he thought he'd like a true sister.

Seoyeon allowed her urge to gulp. She had just dreamt about the first catalyst and hearing it again somewhere tug her heartstring and she didn't know why.

Jung Hwa said, "Last night when you stayed beside me during the time my heartbeat suspend for minutes, do you remember what happened to you?"

"What happened to me?" Seoyeon asked him again, not sure what he meant. She recollect what happened but at the time all her focus went down to Jung Hwa and her mind was in a chaos panic that she wasn't aware what was happening to her own body.

Jung Hwa had used the softest way to explain Seoyeon without springing the information out of the blue and surprised her. Holding her hands, he continued, "There was blue veins-like marks all over your body and from what I have gathered it was the last stage for you to turn to the catalyst."

Seoyeon felt her heart sinking to her stomach, she hid her shocked expression but her eyes betrayed her emotions and Jung Hwa could see it clear what she felt. "But the first and the second stage, the marks should have been shown in me. And what the first and second stage mark look like?"

"We are not sure," Jung Hwa said, "But soon there will be someone who will explain everything to us. I would like to summarize that the reason for the mark to appear in you is because of me." And Seoyeon's eyes looked at him filled with questions. He continued, "Because you love me so much that your whole soul was shaken when seeing I wasn't breathing."

As if she had been caught red-handed like a thief, Seoyeon's cheeks heated into a bright red color. She shake her head hoping to shake her embarrassment at the same time and when back to focus, "If that is so, it would mean that my feelings could trigger my power," and Jung Hwa nodded.

He said, "I would like to say a very potent and strong feeling is the reason for the mark to appear. Like extreme sadness, shock, or worry. It react mostly to the negatives. What did you see on the lucid dream?" He then asked.

Asked at the right time, Seoyeon went straight to the mark, "I know now whose dream I am having. It was the first catalyst, Sol Haneul; and now that I am thinking about it. There was a time where she was attacked due to the Queen's plan and there was a black rectangular mark on her cheek after she used her ability," Seoyeon said when she everything finally dawned to her. But she had never used her ability before unlike Haneul did, then why did she draw ahead of the first and second stage and immediately went to the third stage?

Questions filled her mind and in time Jung Hwa who was also trying to figure things out spoke, "I will make an appointment with the fortune teller," said Jung Hwa, as currently the woman hold informations that they don't know and Seoyeon immediately agreed.

She then saw Jung Hwa took over her glass, placing it over the cupboard and rose from his seat, "Where are you going?"

"To work. I have been absent for quite many days, and for us to hold our marriage we would need money to settle ourselves, don't we?" He asked with a cheeky smile and Seoyeon finally noticed that indeed he was wearing his work clothing. "Why? Miss me already?"

Seoyeon's pursed lips open, and she shook her head at his way of teasing her, "Come back home soon."

"Of course I will," Jung Hwa answered, "How can I leave you for long. Don't overestimate me. I will die without love and attention, just like a rabbit."

Seoyeon chuckled at his words, "A blood-sucking rabbit?"

"That might sound too frightening," Jung Hwa then bent his body to kiss her lips. The sudden kiss didn't surprise Seoyeon. Her body didn't jump and instead her lips receive the kiss well as if she knew he would kiss her the moment his body bent and might had been waiting for it. Their relationship progress and Jung Hwa was delighted to see how it fast it advance in mere days and hours. "Do you think you will stay in the house?"

"I am thinking to visit Seulgi," it had been days since she saw her dear friend. With Jung Hwa's help, they were able to teach Seulgi the life of a half vampire that might not be too different from humans except for drinking blood. But like how she needed a moral support when she was sad, Seoyeon want to be there for her friend and lend an ear to all the worries Seulgi might have piled in her heart.

"Okay. I need to go work now, there is a butler here named Hans, my father's butler. If you need anything you can call him," and Seoyeon nodded though she doubt she would ask the butler much as she believe she could do most of the things alone, "And if you miss me, you can call me anytime you wish."

"Are you my personal butler?" Seoyeon joked.

"I would like to call myself your lover but in a relationship I heard that it tend to be two people serving each other with respect, of course," Jung Hwa reached out his hand to take hold of her cheeks, his eyes glistening and she could see her own reflection on his clear eyes, "You should make list of people you will invite to our wedding. Would you like our marriage party to be held privately or grandiosely?"

Seoyeon looked at him, showing him a gentle smile, "Any two is fine, as long as it progress smoothly."

Jung Hwa had only thought of teasing her not knowing that they have make a plan for the marriage and his smile widen, showing a very human-like smile that is rare for him to show as most of the time his smile was imbued with a spice of malice and cunningness.

"And that we could be together," Jung Hwa said and he released his touch unwillingly from her cheeks, leaving the house to his work.

Now alone, Seoyeon thought of visiting her parent's grave again to speak like a daughter would as she could never do before. When she stepped out from her room after changing her clothes, in time she saw a man who appeared to be young. When he saw her, the man's eyes flickered, "Miss Seoyeon."

Seoyeon didn't know who it was but still return his bow with the same one to greet him. Coming nearer, he then said, "I am Hans, yesterday we met but I wasn't able to introduce myself." Upon seeing his face closed, Seoyeon agreed that she had seen him during the dinner.

"I am Seoyeon. You must be the butler," and the man nodded in acknowledgment. She then look at how he seem to be in a hurry, and asked, "Did something happen?"

Hans were glad that Seoyeon asked him. He had heard from his master of the relationship the woman shared with Jung Hwa, allowing him to say, "The master and young master had both left the house to their own individual engagement. But Lady Valerie has come to the house and insist to meet the master."

Being one to always read the mood in the room, she said, "Would you like me to meet her?"

"Will that be alright for you?" Hans questioned with a spec of hope hinted on his eyes after the request.

"Of course, we have met before. Maybe I will be able to entertain her," Seoyeon said and not to forget her job was a secretary. She always has an upper hand when it come to speaking with rude guests. "Show me the way." And Hans quickly oblige, leading her to where Mrs.. Valerie was in the receiving room with the young Barbara with her.
