Immortal Soaring Blade

Book 2: Chapter 205: Elder Waning Moon

After breaking through, Zhao Jiuge found that the coldness around him was not that bad anymore. He believed that he could now go deeper and enter the center of the spirit vein. With the help of the spirit force here, he would be able to improve his cultivation again very soon.

Elder Waning Moon seemed to have seen through Zhao Jiuge’s thoughts and whispered, “Come with me back to Waning Moon Peak. It is pointless to cultivate here anymore. Right now, you need to improve your understanding of the sword art. Even though you have a lot of spirit force, you need spells and the sword art to use it properly.”

After she finished speaking, without waiting for Zhao Jiuge’s response, she grabbed his arm and they disappeared. They re-appeared outside the mountain and flew toward Waning Moon Peak.

Along the way, the excitement he felt from reaching the Spirit Core Realm faded. Although he could now learn the third layer of the Mysterious Heaven Sword Art, he had just begun learning the second layer! More importantly, he needed a lot of materials to condense the fourth golden dragon and continue cultivating the Sanskrit Divine Body. All of this required a large sum of resources.

Fortunately, he was now a direct disciple, so he had a lot of resources. Coupled with his own effort, he could only take it slowly. Zhao Jiuge wanted to cry, but he had no tears. It turned out that cultivation required so many treasures!

Now Zhao Jiuge finally understood why cultivation never ended. Those who had reached a profound level of cultivation would grasp every opportunity to continue improving.

Just like how even though he had reached the Spirit Core Realm, he still had to worry about learning the sword art, progressing his Sanskrit Divine Body, and condensing his fourth golden dragon so he could reach a new height!

As Zhao Jiuge felt the wind blowing against him, he calmed down. He clearly felt the spirit force inside his body growing. The surrounding spiritual energy was constantly being absorbed and converted to spirit force. Even though he wasn’t cultivating, his spirit force was slowly growing.

Soon, they arrived at Waning Moon Peak. It had only taken a few breaths of time. Zhao Jiuge couldn’t help but feel the benefit of a strong cultivation. Right now, he could only blade soar, and he was like a turtle compared to this speed.

When he landed, he was able to see the surroundings clearly. Waning Moon Peak was not beautiful like his senior sister Fu Hongling’s peak. It was very natural, and aside from the bamboo pavilion and the purple bamboo sea, nothing else had been deliberately changed.

Zhao Jiuge was startled. Was this really where Elder Waning Moon lived and cultivated? It looked like the more powerful one became, the less they cared about these small details.

“This is where you will cultivate for the next few months. During this time, you must gain a certain understanding of the second layer and learn the third layer. Now that you have reached the Spirit Core Realm, you should be able to learn the third layer. You will live down there. Have a good rest today. Tomorrow,  I’ll teach you the sword art.” Elder Waning Moon’s voice echoed. When Zhao Jiuge heard this, the corner of his mouth twitched.

Elder Waning Moon had already walked to a nearby cave. The cave was not far away; it was only a few hundred meters away from the purple bamboo sea.

Zhao Jiuge was thinking about things and staring at the beautiful Elder Waning Moon. He secretly wondered how long she had been cultivating.

He walked into the cave and found another world inside. The inside wall was covered in crystal-clear jade and the ground was paved in some unknown, soft carpet. The layout of the cave was simple, but it had a comfortable atmosphere. Most importantly, there was even a big hotspring inside. This was the first time Zhao Jiuge had seen something like this.

The whole cave was only about 200 square meters and was divided into two layers. The inner and outer layers were divided by a purple sandalwood screen. In the back was the hotspring made of beige-colored jade, and on the left was a gorgeous, redwood double bed with soft and comfortable blankets covering it. Aside from the hot spring in the back, the ground was completely covered in a soft, white carpet. All of this surprised Zhao Jiuge.

“What? Never seen something like this in the sect?” Elder Waning Moon seemed to see through Zhao Jiuge and smiled. “I have been cultivating for over 1,000 years and I don’t go out much. I had to make it more comfortable to be able to stay here year-long. You’re the first person to come to Waning Moon Peak.”

Zhao Jiuge became a bit shocked from all the attention he was getting. He was also surprised that she had been cultivating for over 1,000 years. What cultivation realm had she reached?

Then Elder Waning Moon took off her black robe and the black, silk scarf covering her face.

Elder Waning Moon’s face was suddenly revealed along with the golden dress she had under the black robe. She didn’t seem to care at all and walked bare-foot on the soft white carpet.

Zhao Jiuge felt his mouth dry up. He didn’t know that Elder Waning Moon hadn’t done this on purpose. She was used to being alone, and since no one came here, she had done all this without realizing Zhao Jiuge was present. When she realized it, it was too late and she was too lazy to care.

When Zhao Jiuge saw Elder Waning Moon’s face, he was even more shocked.

Her tender face wasn’t too amazing, but her facial features were good. At first glance, there was nothing special, but after taking a closer look, there was a refined sense of beauty.

A cultivator’s face wouldn’t age easily. Once their cultivation increased, they could maintain a youthful appearance. However, Zhao Jiuge had just heard that she had cultivated for over 1,000 years, and in the next moment, he saw her face. He couldn’t help but be dumbfounded.

“What are you looking at?” Perhaps she was still not used to someone else coming to her residence. Elder Waning Moon seemed a bit uncomfortable and her words were hesitant.

“I didn’t expect Elder Waning Moon to be so beautiful. Why do you cover your face when you go outside?” Zhao Jiuge subconsciously swallowed.

Elder Waning Moon unhappily said, “Flippant! If you keep this up after your finish cultivating tomorrow, you will stay in that little cabin outside the bamboo forest.”

Then she saw Zhao Jiuge’s timid look and her expression softened. Then she walked up to him. Zhao Jiuge could feel a faint fragrance from her body, and her dress was very form-fitting. Zhao Jiuge didn’t know where to look.

Elder Waning Moon rolled her eyes and said in an annoyed tone, “Am I so scary that you have to avoid me?”

Zhao Jiuge faintly smiled but didn’t speak.

“You should have been my disciple, but due to a moment of hesitation, that boy Jian Wuxian snatched you away. However, I find you to my liking, and since I have nothing to do at the moment, I’ll teach you for a while.” This was the first time Elder Waning Moon had taken a disciple, so she was thinking while she talked.

After pausing for a few moments, she continued, “You can call me ‘Master Moon’ in the future if  you like.”

Hearing Elder Waning Moon’s words, how could Zhao Jiuge not understand? He was very obedient and quickly bowed. “Master Moon.”

Hearing this, Elder Waning Moon immediately smiled and her expression softened even more. She had always cultivated alone, and now she had found a member of the young generation she liked, so she was actually very excited.

There was a flash of light from Eldering Waning Moon’s hand and three small, silver swords appeared. These three small, silver swords were made of jade and gave off a faint glow. They were smaller than her palm.

“This is my gift to you, take it.” Elder Waning Moon smiled and handed them over to Zhao Jiuge.

Zhao Jiuge received them and curiously looked at them. The swords exuded small amounts of spirit force fluctuations, but they didn’t look like treasures. Zhao Jiuge couldn’t figure it out and looked confused.

Looking at Zhao Jiuge’s expression, Elder Waning Moon smiled even more. “Each of these three sword energy imprints contain Dao Origin Realm sword energy. When you go out to experience the world and face danger, just break them to use them to save your life.”

Zhao Jiuge nodded, not really fully understanding how they worked. He didn’t think such things existed, but he happily put them inside his storage ring. Thinking about it, he thought that these sword energy imprints might be even more precious than a spirit treasure.

Then Elder Waning Moon and Zhao Jiuge sat down on the white carpet. Elder Waning Moon talked about things she had encountered and Zhao Jiuge talked about his life.

After he finished speaking, Eldering Waning Moon’s gaze toward Zhao Jiuge was slightly different—there was a hint of motherly love now. Zhao Jiuge’s life had moved her, and her eyes softened even more.

After night arrived, Elder Waning Moon went to cultivate on her own. She let Zhao Jiuge go cultivate on the bed or practice his sword art. She warned Zhao Jiuge that tomorrow, they were going to begin seriously cultivating the sword art because the sword art was the fundamental of the sect and the foundation of a sword cultivator.

After being reborn inside the cold pool and then condensing his spirit core inside the spirit vein, almost half a year had passed. This was a rare moment of rest, but Zhao Jiuge could not rest, and he quickly entered the state of cultivation. He began observing his spirit core and began stabilizing his cultivation. He thought about the future—he needed a new goal for each realm!

Now that he had successfully broken through to the early stage of the Spirit Core Realm, he had to gain a good understanding of the second layer and the third layer. Then it would be time for him to forge his life sword. He still had the sword embryo Jian Wuxian had given him and the ice phoenix soul he had received from Fu Hongling. Once his cultivation improved more, he would have to find the treasures required to condense the fourth golden dragon. These were the things that he needed to do.

As for the competition between the seven holy lands and the future Battle Competition, Zhao Jiuge pushed them aside for now. Although he was anxious to see Bo Re, she would still look at him like an ant if he lacked strength. If that was the case, it would be better not to see her.

What Zhao Jiuge wanted was for that cold and noble woman to no longer look at him like he was an ant when they met again.
